Next door caused that much fuss about our puppy last year climbing through the fence and doing his business in their garden and more to the point refusing to fix the shared fence so he couldn't do it, that we rehomed him.
It wasn't the only reason by far but if he'd been able to play in the garden plenty of other issues would have been easier to live with to say the least.
Well they have just informed me they are getting a new dog, not just that but one that grows to 68kg's and poo's like an elephant.
Am so cross they are either going to fix the fence when it suits them to have an animal or think that they are going to inflict the dog on us when our children had to loose theirs

The job description for a prison dog is a 'search dog'. Sniffer dogs are what the public call them, but they don't like it, it raises hackles and it's more than half a bonio less in pay per day!

MillyMollyMoo · 19/04/2010 16:06

Barbara denies that and I shall if you're going to continue with this nonsense print it out and send copies to the relevant parties because I doubt Barbara appreciates being misquoted any more than I do you telling outright lies about me.

Vallhala · 19/04/2010 16:09

Be my guest. I know what I heard. In fact, Barbara may recall my incredulous reaction of (and I paraphrase) "But of course the fu.... flaming dog is going to bark if it's left outside!".

scurryfunge · 19/04/2010 16:11

MMM, seems you are trying to divert atention from the fact that you gave up a dog you couldn't or wouldn't look after. It's irrelevant to talk about, "she said this, she said that".It's finished now surely - the dog is being cared for and your new issues with your neighbour are totally separate.

MillyMollyMoo · 19/04/2010 16:17

Scurry I have never at any point said we were marvelous with the dog and great owners, but equally the dog was not mistreated and that is what Saint Val is now trying to imply and is basically lying about.
Barbara read your comments Val and was far from impressed.

MMM, I remember the last thread. I thought you were barking then and I think you're barking now.

However if the new dog does come and crap in your garden then I have sympathy with you. The same as I had with your neighbours when you were inflicting your dog on them.

Hopefully they will be more responsible and the dog won't get in your garden, either through only being taken out in the garden on the lead and also having loads of walks. Or by them sorting out the fence.

If however it does cause a problem I'm sure you should be able to complain about the situation to the council. You'd probably be able to get them ASBO'd or something.

AnnieBeansMum · 19/04/2010 16:40

I have just spent 40 minutes reading this thread and I don't know how to respond. The OP sounds a little bit like an attention seeker if I'm honest. I could be wrong, but that is how the thread reads.

Compost · 19/04/2010 16:43

am at reading this entire thread.

Poor dog. Glad he is well out of your house MMM. You obviously never thought long and hard about having your one. Was the garden fence issue an afterthought once you got the pup?

I can on the other hand understand your concerns about the neighbours dog getting into your garden when your dc are out playing. I would be concerned too if no proper fencing has been put in place, BUT I am sure they will be well aware that dogs are capable of jumping the hedge and will be addressing the issue. So no need to go crazy just yet.

Bella32 · 19/04/2010 17:06

Where's the part where Val accuses you of cruelty, MMM? I sure as heck can't see it.

Val stepped in and helped get the dog the fantastic new home he now has. Well done, Val.

Of course, in your eyes MMM, Val is in the wrong. As were your neighbours. As was the dog. Bit of a theme emerging here?

MillyMollyMoo · 19/04/2010 17:38

Do you what Val did not step in at all, she did nothing of the sort and to then say the dog was stuck outside all day, or more to the point to quote the lady from the rescue centre as saying that when she absolutely denies saying anything of the sort is just plain wrong.
She states that the dog was abandoned and yet we drove 60 miles to meet with the lady who took him for rehoming, so again inaccuracies. I've taken a lot of crap on this thread on chin because we accept we were in the wrong to have bought him in the first place but I will not stand for lies.

"Barbara denies that and I shall if you're going to continue with this nonsense print it out and send copies to the relevant parties because I doubt Barbara
appreciates being misquoted any more than I do you telling outright lies about me." oh do grow up. The fact remains that regardless of what you did or didn't say to Barbara, the fact remains that you went out and bought a designer puppy, and when it didn't fit in with your expectations you got rid of it. (there are enough threads about it on mn to see that), and now you're trying to play victim and pretend that it was all the neighbour's fault.

ditavionteased · 19/04/2010 17:50

having read this twice as I couldn't quite believe it first time I can't sat what I want to as it would definatly count as a personal slight.

cluckyduck · 19/04/2010 18:07

My goodness. Have some dignity MMM, apologise to Val and walk away.

Bella32 · 19/04/2010 18:10

Val did step in - on the previous thread. Well, one of your previous threads complaining about your puppy and what a 'pain in the arse' it was. iirc, Val even set up a new thread just to pass on a message from the Labradoodle Trust.

What comes across loud and clear is that you don't like anyone pointing out that perhaps your actions were the reason your pup was rehomed, not those of the neighbours or anyone else. You have your own version of events, which bears no resemblance to anyone else's.

I find it immensely telling that even all the people who didn't know the history think YABU. Doesn't that make you think? No, guess not.

Vallhala · 19/04/2010 18:17

Speaking as a rescuer, imo anyone who gives up and gives up on a puppy without an extremely good reason is abandoning that dog. You took that dog to rescue and left him there. THAT is what I meant by "abandoned". You don't need to throw a dog into the streets to let it down and abandon it. You'll find that this view and the way the the word is used is quite common amongst rescuers and animal rights supporters.

My part in the rehoming was this Bella - when I read how utterly callous the OP was I called Labradoodle Trust, using my rescue background and knowledge to urge them to try to make space to take in the OPs dog asap. I considered him at risk, not least as she stated she hated him. The OP had already said that she'd been in touch with LT and that she was awaiting a call back from them.

When I spoke to Barbara Turnbull she was pretty sure that she had NOT had any approach from the OP. Whether this was definately the case, I don't know.

As you are aware, Barbara Turnbull later posted on here, giving her details and asking the OP to make contact, which clearly the OP eventually did.

I can't speak for the LT specifically but most rescues are normally very hard pushed to take in a dog within a couple of days unless he, and sadly even sometimes despite him being, at immediate risk of PTS. LT did however find that space for the OPs dog, Barbara Turnbull assuring me on, I think iirr, the Thursday, that "we can have him out of there [the OPs house] this weekend".

Regardless of the fact that I am being accused of lying, which I deny wholeheartedly, I will always be indebted to LT for that decision.

Bella32 · 19/04/2010 18:20

Walk away, Val. It's not worth it, hon

Vallhala · 19/04/2010 18:26

And I must learn to spell 'definitely' properly!

FlorenceDaphne · 19/04/2010 18:26

I'm trying really hard to quit this thread, but I just can't seem to let go. And now it's all kicked off again!

Has the puppy come into your garden next MMM?

Could you make us all really happy and post a picture of your garden?

MrsL123 · 19/04/2010 19:40

Poor ickle you MMM, everyone's picking on you for no reason, aren't they? It must be terribly frustrating when it seems the whole world is against you. Unfortunately that's what you get when you act like a twat. I hope your new baby doesn't throw up on your carpets or cry too loud. Not sure Val deals in babies.

uggmum · 19/04/2010 22:43

I am completely worn out by this thread. MMM give it up please, you have lost this one!

MillyMollyMoo · 19/04/2010 22:52

Well you say that MRSL but if the baby is annoying we could no doubt just feed it to next doors dog, the breed is known for eating babies after all.

GypsyMoth · 19/04/2010 22:53

i cant believe you just said that.....how low will you go?

ThatVikRinA22 · 19/04/2010 23:18

some people really should just be banned from owning pets. shame they are allowed to go on to have children though.

val, you did brilliantly, if i were you, id hide this silly bints thread because i havnt seen one post in favour of her and her selfish, bratish ranting.

pathetic OP. truly pathetic. you start by whining 'poor me' and when the extent or your bratish behaviour becomes apparent you insult the intelligence of people on here and those who actually helped you rehome your dog.

if you dont fix the fence, yes your neighbours dog may just return the favour. then again your neighbours may understand their responsibilites, which apparently you dont.

notjustapuppymum · 20/04/2010 19:28

I just can't believe this thread!

Seriously Val, I wouldn't waste your keystrokes any longer - MMM is either a complete wind-up merchant and sitting in her well kept home laughing at the reaction she's provoked or she's just plain loopy.

FlorenceDaphne · 01/07/2010 22:13

What happened in the end? Did they get the dog?
