Please sign the petition to update the Equality Act so it is clear that a woman or girl is a female being, with a particular immutable biological state, not a man with a Gender Recognition Certificate or a man or boy who can claim “Gender Reassignment”.

At present, believe it or not, this is not clear when the EA interacts with the Gender Recognition Act or the Equality Act characteristic Gender Reassignment.

Sign this Parliamentary Petition to update the Equality Act to make clear that a woman, a female of any age, is not, miraculously enough, actually a man with a GRC, or a man with the other Equality Act characteristic, Gender Reassignment (which only requires a girl’s name, say, or perhaps a pop of lipstick, or even just an assertion to have force) and neither of which requires surgery.

Because these designations - Gender Reassignment, and even more so GRCs, - are leading to sex based spaces for women being withdrawn for fear of litigation.
