Ding, ding, round 3 of the highly entertaining collection of misspellings, misuse and general bastardisation of language. The floor is youre’s x

Facebook is a goldmine. Now I’ve seen “corsuge” (corsage) and “hastely” (hastily). My keyboard struggles with the misspellings so how are they so prolific?

Someone’s had their nose “quarterised” to stop nose bleeds

Should have forseen that!

OwwwwShock

Wonder if it was cut into four pieces

AlbieJiggered · 25/06/2026 23:07

I've just seen illusive when the context suggests they meant elusive.

ErrolTheDragon · 25/06/2026 23:38

In a magazine, what should have been a nice metaphor: “yolked to a runaway horse”. Egg on someone’s face there!

Howinthehelldidthishappen · 26/06/2026 07:45

Just seen this in the doghouse, obviously about a dog.
he does malt

Like the dogs in those anthropomorphic Victorian paintings!

I was picturing him with a mug of Horlicks 😂

I was picturing him with a mug of Horlicks 😂

The word "malt" conjured up "whisky" in my mind straightaway, even though I don't drink the stuff.

Horlicks never occurred to me.

Oh. Er...

HopeSpringsInfernal · 26/06/2026 09:18

Just seen a thread talking about a neighbour hanging mirrors pointing at Woden fence

Oh. Er...

Ah I don't like whisky, so that would never be the first thing to pop into my head!

Whosthetabbynow · 26/06/2026 12:36

Vinegar?

HopeSpringsInfernal · 27/06/2026 13:21

Someone's talking about forcing Farage and his elk into uncomfortable positions... the mind boggles

Thats going too far!

AlbieJiggered · 27/06/2026 15:48

Far more amusing than forcing Farage and his ink into uncomfortable positions...

SerendipityCat · 27/06/2026 21:00

Just seen on another thread, "Had you of done this at the very beginning you wouldn’t of had to make another thread". A double whammy of wrongness.

Just seen on another thread, "Had you of done this at the very beginning you wouldn’t of had to make another thread". A double whammy of wrongness.

That's remarkable. Using "had you" instead of the more common "if you", but then adding an unnecessary auxiliary verb and getting it wrong.

AlbieJiggered · 28/06/2026 09:28

Had you done this at the beginning, you wouldn't have had to make another thread.

Chersfrozenface · 28/06/2026 09:36

AlbieJiggered · 28/06/2026 09:28

Had you done this at the beginning, you wouldn't have had to make another thread.

A sentence which would suggest advanced education or wide reading.

The original, not so much.

SueBlime · 28/06/2026 09:47

"dune" instead of did.

AlbieJiggered · 28/06/2026 09:56

@Chersfrozenface , mine's not elegant but the original makes the poster look uneducated. Don't people realise that it detracts from the message?
