The old 'battering an eyelid' has always given me a very peculiar mental image indeed.

I was thinking about this thread earlier when a friend told me she’d been gIven a sorbet in a restaurant as “a pallet cleanser”.

Oh God, that has really set me off🤣🤣🤣 Gotta keep those pallets clean!

They probably needed to cleanse the pallets because they began their meal with horse doovers

I’m having new flooring fitted. On the quote I was given, the price includes “taking up the exiting flooring”. Do you think that’s the bit by the front door as you leave the house?
