Seen on an exchange board in a supermarket many years ago “gunea pigs for sale. Lovely walking pets”. I’ve never been able to interpret the second statement. (Or is it so literal and I’ve been overthinking it all these years?)

Baby guinea pigs can walk and do everything as soon as they're born so I have no idea what they meant by that.

Typo for working pets?

Some dogs are bred as working dogs. Sheepdogs herd sheep for example. Other working dogs are good at retrieving shot birds, hunting rats.

Some guinea pigs are working guinea pigs. Herding (beetles), retrieving (lost keys), hunting (silverfish).

Though I'm loathed to admit it, @JuliaPargetter, I am weary of been too pendantic.

I realised I've made a grammer mistake in another thread I started. If only I hadn't of let my eyes wonder I wouldn't of bin so silly. It's my just desserts for been such a pendant I recon.
