OuchPassVodka · 21/09/2010 23:44

bellavita · 22/09/2010 06:21

Morning Smile

Mittz Sad for your mum.

Fanny Sad, did you know him well? Are you fully booked over the weekend too?

GIGI - ~~~~HAPPY BIRTHDAY~~~~

I appreciate it has been a long time since mine have been to Playgroup or Nursery, but at ours they either had to be potty trained or if not and they did a poo, you had to go down and deal with it.

Oh, I just get so sad for her.. she should be in a much better place and a decent man would listen to her and say 'hey lets get you a swishy new hair cut', she is really upset at the thought of losing her hair. But he would just sulk and be a twat about it. She is such a gentle soul. I know the condition can be controlled.. just wish I could make her life easier and happier..

Five... that sounds complicated.. situations like that can be weird.

Think DC's playgroup were cool with bums but mind is strangely blank about it.

Sorry I missed your Birthday Iggi Blush. I was avoiding someone on FB yesterday so after my status update didn't go on. Belated greetings Smile xx

Crispy start here, not sure how DD is yet or if she will be in school.

Have run out of tea bags Sad....Hmm

Morning all Grin

Shiney don't blame you relisting it, I bloody hate echeques!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY GIGI Grin

jetcat · 22/09/2010 07:41

happy birthday gigiSmile

Mittz, so sorry about your mumSad I hope she has managed to book herself in for some pampering/haircut etc.

Five, that sounds awkward re the funeral. Are you ok?

Shiney - if five doesnt want it, can i have it? Pretty pleaseGrin As i am saving for paying off car, i actually have some money in my accountShock

Our nurseries dont wipe bums eitherHmm Now mini is back at nursery school, it has quite surprised me hearing her talk about one child having his nappy changed at school - i didnt even realise they did that!

I have had a long talk with junior, and have decided to limit her time to do school homework to an hour a night. This is purely because she will spend hours trying to do one piece, and will constantly change the size of font/pictures etc instead of doing anything constructive. And then, like on sunday, after 6 hours, she has a massive crying fit and gives up. So, an hour a night means she has to concentrate to get it done. Does that sound ok, or am i being too harsh?

Lizzylou · 22/09/2010 07:41

Happy Birthday Gigi!
And Happy Birthday George Smile

How are we all?
Hope BOF got a good night's sleep after her evening yesterday.

Knackered, don't sleep well when DH is away.
DS2 woke me up at 6.30am, he was asking
"If you love me, why aren't we married?" and trying to pull my nipples.
He'll be trouble in his teens I think.

You're doing fine, Shineon. That's mostly what I can think of doing with it.

JetCat, 8GB means that you can get loads of albums or podcasts on it, but probably not your whole collection. You can download TV and video to it as well. Useful if you need to keep a child entertained, to have a few videos in your pocket. And some of the apps will be designed to entertain kids as well, whatever their age.

I use mine mainly for podcasts and audio books. Podcasts are amazing.

BitOfFun · 22/09/2010 08:48

What is a podcast? Is it just a radio show recorded? I read a book of a podcast once- was very good.

TrillianAstra · 22/09/2010 08:58

Podcasts are like little recorded radio shows that you get off the Internet, right?

Books are all on bookshelves, this cleared a lot of space.

Happy birthday to Gigi- think I said that already but now it really is your birthday.

Jet you are funny- going 'me 'me 'me I want it-- err what does it do?' :o

BelfastBloke · 22/09/2010 09:00

Yeah, its a radio show recorded, but doesn't have to be a radio show.

Radio: Eg Mark Kermode's film review from 5Live, edited down to remove the travel and weather and news. So 80mins of pure film reviews.

Non-Radio: Eg. Alan Davies doing a weekly football show after each Arsenal game. It's not broadcast anywhere except his website and on iTunes, but you get it in exactly the same way, off of iTunes.

Therefore, Shineon could do a 10min weekly podcast for this thread. She would use the 'Garageband' application and a microphone to record and edit the show on her new Mac, each week interview a different member of the thread, then upload it onto iTunes. Then all cult members, and millions of listeners worldwide, would receive the benefit of her, um, wisdom.

NormaSknockers · 22/09/2010 09:17

Grin Lizzy, you can remind him of that one when he's 18....in front of his girlfriend!

Shiney do you have a long coat in which you secure all your item to sell so you can flash them at people asking if they see anything they like?

I have the joys of the weekly food shop today, thankfully DS will be staying home with MrNorma but I still dread it. If I haven't returned by lunchtime send a search party, I'll be hiding down the biscuit isle rocking back & forth cluthing my penguins & muttering to myself.

hellsbelles · 22/09/2010 09:27

morning all, I was channelling my inner Bella yesterday and sorting out my wardrobe last night. And almost got lost in a sea of black and grey. Boring. Need some colour!

BOF - so sorry your meal went that way but impressed by the epic efforts to cheer you up (joke central last night wasn't it?)

Mitts -how very sad - the situation with your mum is just so hard (obviously the clotting issue is horrible but it's the general thing with your Dad that makes it so unbearable isn't it?). My Mum did leave my Dad in the end (after 30 or so years). do you think your mum ever could?

Ouch - although I love my new reputation as an S&B guru alas I'm rubbish at finding stuff (apart from my one off success for Trills). I like the tunics you linked to but would steer towards the ones that aren't 100% acrylic (personally as I'm a sweaty betty and it makes me stink)...also that bit of wool content will make it last better. Also I can't believe you said the 'it's better when it gets cold it kills all the germs'. I say that all the time and people usually look at me as if I'm bonkers. But it's totally true!

Alice - good luck with the potty training.

Shiney - hope you are breaking through the worst of your illing! And I didn't get a message so now very paranoid!

Subway - I've steered clear...after BOF recounted having to sit on the loo for about 24 hours after a subway meal.

Vinny - you are the Martin Lewis of MN with all your cashback secrets.

Lizzy - thanks, no really, for putting that bloody song in my head. I can't stop singing it now.

Jet - yeah for car - how exciting...

Iggi - belated birthday wishes and GIGI - happy birthday. 30 is a lovely lovely age

Trills - reading the Nigella book in your lovely new conservatory....perfect. And yes to those who asked...I think it's a lovely book - the recipes I've tried so far have worked perfectly and it makes me feel all yummy reading it.

So I woke up to explosive poo. DD's not mine. We have our lovely nanny back for 2 days a week but alas she found some old philadephia at the back of the fridge (my fault for not cleaning out the fridge properly) and gave it to DD without checking the date. One month past use by. Yum. DD's tummy not happy and I'm now convinced she has listeria or something awful.

Waves to lovely Bella.

Right - work beckons. Hope everyone has lovely days.

hellsbelles · 22/09/2010 09:28

bloody hell - excuse the length of post.

jetcat · 22/09/2010 09:29

Grin Lizzy, and trills - yes, that did dawn on meBlush I have no idea either about podcasts, other than i know the OU use them a lot for their courses, so that may come in handy.

BB - thanks so much for your explanation. I fear i probably would fit my entire music collection on, as it is pretty crapBlush Even my 13 year old has more music than i do.
I am thinking that i can transfer the cds i have got onto it, and then itunes the rest?Confused

Shiney - bank details are fine, would save on paypal fees as wellSmile
