Nope because I have severe allergies to fur. which means ds gets to drool over the animals and I dont have to look after them whilst being poorly.

Its more then that, i sometimes get breakfast in bed too. And he cooks his own tea. He has also just learnt to iron a tea towel.
WE he flings his arms around your neck and you can no longer breathe, then tells you he loves you. Yep when you can breathe again yes Grin

A jam spoon is like a teasppon but has a bowl/head bit that is double the size. <a class="break-all" href="http://www.google.co.uk/imgres?imgurl=www.sunpennycreations.com/resources/jam-spoon.jpg&imgrefurl=www.sunpennycreations.com/24.html&usg=__BW3oBLJ-DDjTJDX6bl262YHVS-w=&h=290&w=400&sz=70&hl=en&start=0&zoom=1&tbnid=hqFZrL6CU04zwM:&tbnh=147&tbnw=161&prev=/images%3Fq%3Djam%2Bspoon%26um%3D1%26hl%3Den%26client%3Dfirefox-a%26hs%3DffI%26sa%3DN%26rls%3Dorg.mozilla:en-GB:official%26biw%3D1024%26bih%3D606%26tbs%3Disch:1&um=1&itbs=1&iact=hc&vpx=298&vpy=250&dur=4939&hovh=191&hovw=264&tx=159&ty=127&ei=oNp4TOXwBMLfOJvy8PcF&oei=oNp4TOXwBMLfOJvy8PcF&esq=1&page=1&ndsp=15&ved=1t:429,r:6,s:0" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">like this

TrillianAstra · 28/08/2010 12:29

Mmmm, boiled eggs, and I got them nice and runny :)

Should probably wash hair and put on real clothes now...

bellavita · 28/08/2010 14:10

Afternoon Smile

Crispy, have a great time.

Trills, Mmmmm boiled eggs Envy. I have just got back from the hairdressers and had a salad sandwich. If I had of read your post before that I would have done boiled eggs too. Err well.. the hotel is ummmmm posh Blush. Enjoy your garden party thingummy,

Mittz, did you have your bike ride?

Well, I have come away from the hairdressers with slightly shorter hair at the back - done a bit of an inverted bob, red bits are back in at the sides, no grey hair is showing now and some nice highlights in. I also purchased a pair of GHD's Blush. Yesterday when in town, I saw a hairdressers with them on offer and thought hmmmm I may go back and get some when we go in town on Sunday. Lo and behold my hairdresser had the same offer on, so MrBella I purchased a pair Grin

DreamsInBinary · 28/08/2010 15:43

Hair sounds fab Bella, and GHD's are brilliant.

It's my first wedding anniversary today Grin

DH gave me a super-long lie-in, until 11.30!!

MuckyDucky · 28/08/2010 16:34

SOunds lovely dib! and congratulations!

I forgot it was bank holiday weekend. I took ds to ikea

Ds has been super tricky for the last few days. i am going to kill him. He has been banished to his bedroom. i am supposed to be enjoying a little peace. but the tirade of supid questions continues. Angry

mittz · 28/08/2010 17:48

Hi.. Smile

I am just back Bella. I cycled to see my Mum and the grumpy old goat Dad. It was a lovely afternoon, mum is sooo naughty. It took my Dad 1 1/2 hrs to explain why a 2 stroke engine backfired and she pulls faces whilst I am trying to listen and concentrate.. Hmm
His opinions leave a lot to be desired but I let it wash over me. I'd love him to meet Dittany!

Was your hair done to your satisfaction Bella...? I enjoy the pampering. Glad you got the GHD's.. you have been good though cos I remember you wanting them at the meet, so good for you.

I feel invigorated and have a lovely tea in mind.. simple but tasty (like me lololol!!)

hellsbelles · 28/08/2010 19:18

mitts - so glad you had a lovely afternoon.

Bella - you sound very gorgeous with that new hair and GHD as supposed to be the absolute best. You deserve them.

I'm having my weekly 'treat' meal - which is a thai takeaway.

We have DS back (he was staying at inlaws for a week). Thrilled to see him but straight into arguments over homework - so tired already.

DIB- congrats and lucky you getting the lie in. What a treat.

Mucky (do I have to call you that? Wink) - you have the little chap well taught. DS is 7 and no where near doing the same. I guess he could but I'm too much of a stress ball to comtemplate him near boiling water (I must get over this - it makes a lot of sense to get breakfast in bed)!

bellavita · 28/08/2010 19:28

Your mum was very naughty Mittz Grin, glad you enjoyed your cycle ride. Hair was done to my satisfaction, I love my hairdresser.

DIB - congratulations and jubilations....

Hells, take away sounds good.

Mucky, blimey that was brave of you going to Ikdea on a Saturday let alone a bank holiday one Shock

DS1 and I have been out for tea to the pub where I used to work. He had his usual fish and chips which looked very apetising and I had a freshly dressed Scarborough crab salad which was delish. Saw lots of customers there that I used to serve which was nice. Just waiting for DH to ring and say he is nearing York for me to go and pick them up at the station.

It is very quiet on here today?

MuckyDucky · 28/08/2010 20:04

Saturday isnt too bad normally. But bloody hell ds was in a strop. Dont think it would have matter where I would have taken him i suspect his behaviour would have been the same. Its just there was more people to get in the way of it.

Hells with ds he was always going to do it anyway so it was a choice of whether he did it safely or off his own bat. Hence why when he asked to be able to iron, it was safer him doing it under my supervision and the novalty be undertaken safely rather then him taking himself off to experiment. He did really well but i would be more cautious about an iron i knew reach a proper hot temperature. Oh and breakfast in bed can be interesting Hmm you do need a strong stomach sometimes. Grin

Having an early night as drained from today's battles. Hope you all had lovely days.

hellsbelles · 28/08/2010 20:47

anchovies on toast for breakfast! Perhaps I will hold back on encouraging that one [winl]

jetcat · 28/08/2010 20:52

hair sounds lovely bellaSmile I think i may go back for more colour soon - i actually quite enjoyed being pamperedShock

Cycle ride sounds lovely Mittz - am very Envy And bless your naughty mumGrin

Mucky mucky mucky.... i need your rxpert adsviceGrin Junior has finally actually stepped onto the ice at the rink she goes to with her activities club. Tis only took her three yearsGrin But,while she has yet to actually let go of the slide, she does really enjoy it. So, when our local rink reopens next year after refurb, she wants to sign up for lessonsShock

I am thinking of skates for xmas - but have no idea what to look out for. Any advice?

TrillianAstra · 29/08/2010 01:05

You lot have been quiet. I am home, and fancy food that is not plausible at this time of night so think I had better go to bed.

TrillianAstra · 29/08/2010 01:38

Or I could read MN and try to type approximtely correctly. My friend's brother won the imaginary casino and won a chocoalte fountain. His girlfriend looked pleased but I think he would rather have got the secon d prize of a bottle of not-quite-champagne.

Did I mention we had people looking round the flat today? I wrote 'nice ham' on the list on the fridge in case it was a MNer but on the way out (didn't want to be in while they looked) we saw it was actually two men, so not much chance of a MNer there.

mittz · 29/08/2010 08:22

Hey Jet.. sound good with Junior.. Smile

I actually was drinking tea when I read about your nice ham Trills and barely managed to not spray the keyboard Grin.

My mending pile is no more Smile

Now for paperwork.

A big Hello to all and Smile xx

Morning Smile

Jet, oooh what confidence it would give junior to be able to skate. Skates for christmas sound good.

Trills - I often wonder when I go somewhere if there is an mner around. I love the "nice ham" note Grin

Mitts, sounds like you have been very productive.

We have to go into town this morning. Boys need haircuts and coats/shoes need to be bought. It is peeing down with rain though Sad

Yogga brekka with a small sliced banana, blueberries and strawberries.

Scrambled egg/soft boiled for lunch.

Cajun chicken with salad for tea.

mittz · 29/08/2010 09:43

Morning Smile Bella.

DD wants rollerskates.. Not roller blades. Skating is fun, be ity on ice or tarmac. I have considered geting some from time to time, but am too self conscious.

Rain here too. We haven't had much and I didn'#t recognise what it was at first.

OP posts:
jetcat · 29/08/2010 10:12

Grin at nice ham trills - tis like a secret hamd handshake or somethingGrin

I know re the confidence Bella, she generally just says, "i cant do that cos of my dyspraxia" Sad and wont even try. She admitted last night that prior to getting on the ice at her camp, she had spent an hour in tears getting coaxed by the youth leader. But, i am still so very proud of her - as previously we wouldnt get past the tears stage. I am trying to convince her that roller skates/blades could be worth a try as well, but shes not having that at the momentGrin Mittz - i think i would be self conciouss on skates, where as you would look uber slim and trendyEnvy

What is everyone up to today then?

TrillianAstra · 29/08/2010 10:39

I am up to sitting on my sofa.

bellavita · 29/08/2010 10:43

I am sat in the car going into York (DH) is driving.

Hangover Trills?

TrillianAstra · 29/08/2010 11:03

Little bit Bella. Why is DH in brackets?

bellavita · 29/08/2010 11:09

Am not sure Trills Grin

MuckyDucky · 29/08/2010 11:22

There is many things to look for in skates but let me give you a strong word of warning skating is very very expensive.

My skates cost approx £350 when i got them, I need new blades which will cost approx £80. My skates are not pro standard. Shock the price increases with ability, and top standard skaters new new skates every year or so.

You can pick up basic skates for approx £50 in somewhere like decathlon which is ok for the basic beginner or recreational skater.

Lessons when done on a one to one level are paid by the 15mins. At my rink the going rate is £7:50/15mins. Not sure what the group lesson rate is, this will be cheaper but it only goes up to a certain level beyond that it is one to one only.

Then there is the ice time. Sessons for practice can be expensive and it depends on the rink as to how they organise it. Can't give you an estimate simply because of how differently different rinks operate. But you will be lucky to get change out of £5 and sometimes you wont get much out of £10.

As for the lovely skating dresses, Friend has just had to buy a very basic plain dress for a competition in a months time and it has cost her £80 Admittedly she is an adult but I dont suspect that the child's dress prices are that much less.

BUT as for junior getting on the ice Yay! go junior. tis fabulous!!!!!!!!

I would wait to see if she really gets hooks on skating before getting the skates. A lot of rinks will hire skates out to beginners and this IME is a better way to go. I have seen a lot of chldren who really want to, struggle to progress and get so disheartened that they give up. On the other hand this might be just the thing to bring junior out of her shell. So if she is keen I would encourage her to enjoy it if possible.

Sorry to be so blunt but the money aspect is one of the reasons why i had to take a 7 year break in skating. Also why i am in too minds about joining the team and competiting again. The only reason i trained so much in the past was that I worked for the rink and had no ice fees which is mostly what the killer money wise is for me.

Grin @trill's nice ham.
Going to do anything fun bella?
Waves to everyone else.
You should come at some point mittz. I discovered that you can hire the rink out for parties where I skate. Now if i can convinve enough of you we could invade the rink and there would be no one to make you feel Blush if you have a fall. Grin

TrillianAstra · 29/08/2010 11:22

Now defrosting the freezer, which as it happens mostly involves sitting on the sofa while the freezer drips. That's my kind of housework.

bellavita · 29/08/2010 11:25

Am not sure Trills Grin
