TrillianAstra · 29/08/2010 11:28

What else are you not sure about Bella?

Alicetheinvisible · 29/08/2010 12:02

Hello ladies Smile

Hope you are all well, and having good weekends Smile

Bloody DH being at home means i only get the laptop for short periods of time, so sorry for not keeping up! Grin He is back at work thursday though so real life will resume.

F is still being fab, and he likes being swaddled so looks very much like a little glow-worm most of the time.

TrillianAstra · 29/08/2010 12:30

Alice! Do you have a glow-in-the-dark baby? :)

I hope DH is being helpful and paying you lots of attention, not just using paternity leave to play about on the laptop.

Alicetheinvisible · 29/08/2010 12:52

Erm......Grin DH is being good, he has mostly been keeping DD occupied, so that i can rest and sort out the feeding. Baby doesn't actually glow in the dark, just looks like a little glow worm all wrapped up.

DH got me a nintendo DS game off Ebay (for £1.20!) called My Fitness Coach that comes with a pedometer and is basically Food Focus, so works out your cals etc, sees how many steps you have done/cals burnt etc, looks like it could be good.

I have made some really good yorkshire puds today and a chocolate bomb, as have friends over this evening for dinner, now just spending some time doing nothing

TrillianAstra · 29/08/2010 13:00

People round for dinner? You really are Superwoman!

Or are babies just actually much easier than they say? Hmm Maybe everyone's been lying all these years Grin

MuckyDucky · 29/08/2010 13:01

hey Alice! glad to hear that you and f are well

Alicetheinvisible · 29/08/2010 13:16

Babies that feed and sleep are easy Trills, especially compared to toddlers that need entertaining constantly a fair bit Grin

Cooking a roast anyway (between us - DH does the meat and peels potatoes) so have invited friends over as a bit of a thank you for helping out with DD recently. The only stressful bit is their kids (well one in particular) but sod it, now i am not having pain killers i shall have some champagne and some wine Grin

bellavita · 29/08/2010 13:22

Trills - not sure what happened there! Grin

Alice, you are wonder woman. I love Yorkshire puds and the chocolate bomb sounds divine.

Boys have had their hair cut, DS1's coat and shoes for school have been purchased. He got some Kickers Trills.

We were going to have something to eat in Ask until I remembered the car park ticket would run out.

DH has just said "well that was an expensive morning"... No you don't say...Grin

TrillianAstra · 29/08/2010 13:30

Glad my random naming of shoe brands worked out Bella!

bellavita · 29/08/2010 13:59

DS1 is growing his hair for the swept over fringe look. Will be a couple of months before he achieves what he wants but the barbers have done a great job today of shaping it and waxed the front across. DS1 asked why I was looking at him and I replied it was because he was soooo handsome. He said that he didn't need me saying those kinda things to him and promptly walked off blushing! Grin

Scrambled eggs with grilled home grown tomatoes that were very tasty.

Alice, I remember swaddling DS2 - he loved it.

Where is everyone today? Out having fun?

TrillianAstra · 29/08/2010 14:12

Awwww at your DS1 Bella Grin

hellsbelles · 29/08/2010 14:35

Well he is handsome (judging by pics!) and he's a lucky boy that he has a Mum who will tell him so.

Alice please take it a little easy?! But I do know what you mean about the first few weeks bit where they sleep all the time (during the day). Somehow with DS I still managed not to get anything done but with DD I learnt my lesson and figured I may as well enjoy it (though night time and constant breast feeding is a different matter isn't it?).

What is this ham thing you speak of.

Mucky - I didn't realise how flipping expensive skating is! That's horrific.

I'm being very lazy. I have horrible AF and feeling tired and grumpy so have camped out on the sofa with the Sunday papers...though I have to go and get DD up soon so calm will soon be broken.

enjoy your sunday everyone.

Where is shiney? Is Lizzy away?

TrillianAstra · 29/08/2010 14:50

Hi Hells. I'm around. Ate some percy pigs - I think they are good for hangovers.

We had a beautiful rainstorm a little while ago, and now it's gone all sunny. I don't trust it enough to go outside though.

VinegarTits · 29/08/2010 15:15

Hello, i am back from the Lakes, i spent 7 hours in the water at the sandcastle on Thursday, it was excellent, highly recommend it for kids and bigger kids adults

im not even going to discuss what i have eaten and drunk this weekend, im disgusted at myself Biscuit

have i missed anything important? i havent caught up on the thread, im very tired

TrillianAstra · 29/08/2010 15:24

Port, at this time of day?

That reminds me, there was really not enough port last night.

Sounds like a fun weekend Vinny. DP has taken over the scrapey scrapey annoying bt of defrosting the freezer so I am doing washing. What fun. Feel a bit tired.

jetcat · 29/08/2010 15:38

thanks mucky, that is greatSmile A lot to mull over. A bit of background - she used to do trampolining three times a week, and loved it (she started when she was 7, and combined with gymnastics, it really helped her with her co-ordination). But, a couple of years ago, it all came to a head as she was doing regular competitions, and obviously the coaches wanted some kind of progress from the basic moves. But, junior was very very happy doing the basic moves, and got completely stressed out at trying to do more complicated routines. She could do the moves indiviudally, but not 10 in a row, as required by the competitions. So, after a lot of heartache, she quit.

That actually cost a fortune - comps were all over the north east, and leotards etc were expensive. But, i have looked into the cost of skating lessons, and it is a lot cheaperGrin £35 for a 6 week course of 45 min lessons, and she has quite clearly stated she only wishes lessons to learn the basics, then she will be quite happy skating on her own time. So, i figure a couple of 6 week sessions and she will at least learn how to stop and start etc.

Skates, there is the problem. The ones you can hire at the centre, she cant do up herself. I would need some with easier fastenings i think (if such a thing exists). They will be part of her main xmas present, so so long as they are under £100 i think it should be ok.

(sorry for skate hi jack thereBlush)

ALice, yes, you must take it easy . But have a lovely evening with your friendsSmile

Bless your DS Bella, tis a mums job to embarrass offspring - is great funGrin

The lakes sounds lovely Vinny, i love the sandcastle, cant wait for mini to just get a little bigger, then we can go again, as she gets a little overwhelmed at the moment. Junior however, loves all the slidesGrin

I have been busy diy'ing today, and am impressed i havent actually injured myself -yet-- I am attempting to box in a random pipe in the bathroom that just dangles from the ceilingHmm I very nearly just sawed it off, but figured it may be actually serving some kind of purpose. Have also removed the broken extractor fan and the electric box, cut the wires and sealed them up, ready for tiling over (yup - still tilingGrin). I am feeling very industrious!

hellsbelles · 29/08/2010 16:58

lucky finnster...sounds like a great time at the lakes Vinny.

Trills - sorry I missed you - DD woke up. I agree - percy pigs are probably great hangover fodder.

v. impressive Jet. Puts my afternoon to shame (supermarket shop - oh the excitement).

DD wants her supper...so I better go.

TrillianAstra · 29/08/2010 17:16

DIY sounds very impressive Jet.

bellavita · 29/08/2010 17:25

Sorry you are feeling rubbish Hells, it is good to be lazy once in a while too!

Vinny, sounds like you had a great time. Don't be disgusted with yourself, tomorrow is a new day and just go back to eating normally. 7 hours in the water Shock, did you come out all wrinkled?

Where is Shiney? and Lizzy too? Norma is away this weekend at a wedding.

Trills, stop going on about the freezer, it is reminding me that ours needs doing.

I wonder if Fanny will come to the mn xmas meet?

CrispyTheCrisp · 29/08/2010 18:06

Yay, my Gay Best Friend got married yesterday SmileSmile

We had all thought they might but still a lovely surprise. Well until with 5 minutes notice i had to do a reading and then a best woman's speech. Gits. Grin. Did ok i think and my storytelling was improved by the Pimms & wine drunk prior to being informed of my duties Blush

Hair sounds fab Bella. Are there any FB pics? Glad DS found some shoes

Trills, why on earth are you defrosting the freezer if you are moving out? Confused

Hurrah for MiniJet and her skating confidence. Lessons sound great

Vinny, so glad you had a great time in the Lakes. Very Envy of your port

Nice to see you Alice Smile. My DD's looked very much like glow worms as they like to be swaddled but also had severe jaundice. Actually more like tangerines HmmGrin. Enjoy your bubbles & vino this evening

Hi Hells, hope bedtime for little people comes shortly so you can relax properly again

TrillianAstra · 29/08/2010 18:08

Defrosting the freezer so it is easy to clean it when we do move out - and because it was getting hard to see what was in there with all the snow!

Yay for surprise wedding, not so much for surprise speech, but I bet you were great. Grin

VinegarTits · 29/08/2010 18:15

everyone on FB seems to have been at weddings this weekend Grin

we went to 3 different car boots sales this morning, do you think that is a record? ds2 loves routing around them, i got him a bike helmet for £1

jetcat · 29/08/2010 18:19

thanks trillsSmile

Awww crispy, i bet the wedding was lovely, including your speechSmile You have such a lovely way with words, i bet that is why they asked you.

Envy at both car booting and supermarket shopping, i know i would have much rather have done either! Hope you ok Hells, and did i say i love your Paris picsGrin

hellsbelles · 29/08/2010 18:36

I'm just moaning about AF - ignore me.

Crispy - what a wonderful surprise...I'm more impressed than I can tell you about your speech at short notice. Public speaking reduces me to jelly and I am in awe of anyone that can do it!

TrillianAstra · 29/08/2010 19:01

Really Hells? You always seem very calm and collected, as if you would simply rise to the occassion.
