Please tell me I'm not alone in disliking Dil!

It’s hard to tell as you’ve been fairly brief
But
If your DS was a decent father, he wouldn’t allow her to stop him seeing his kids. He’s the only one responsible for that.

SantaPranki · 28/12/2020 19:32

She is not a DIL . She is a girlfriend.

Ifonlyihadknown79 · 28/12/2020 19:33

Ohalrightthen what does dfod stand for?

OP posts:
teenytrees · 28/12/2020 19:33

It sounds like everyone needs to grow up and put the children's needs first.
And learn to spell.
Life isn't a soap opera.

Ifonlyihadknown79 · 28/12/2020 19:34

Santapranki does it matter that I put Dil??

AuntieDolly · 28/12/2020 19:34

Your poor son at the mercy of this terrible woman. Did he step in to defend you?

FTEngineerM · 28/12/2020 19:35

Did you raise him to make his own choices?

LivingDeadGirlUK · 28/12/2020 19:35

Sounds like your son has really ballsed this one up. Terrible that he isn't seeing his children and has moved someone into his house at the expense of being able to offer his children a proper place to stay. Have you tried talking to him and getting him to step up?

SantaPranki · 28/12/2020 19:35

Life can be a soap opera.

What is normal?

Just say you are not tolerating that behaviour. If she can't behave, she can't visit .

gurglebelly · 28/12/2020 19:36

Sorry OP but sounds like your Son has an awful lot of responsibility for this situation. He decides when to see his children, not the new girlfriend. He should be the one communicating with his ex, not the new girlfriend, he is the one that says yes or no to her moving in/changing bedrooms around. So it sounds like perhaps you have some rose tinted glasses on about who is in the wrong here - he is either a total wet lettuce or is quite happy with how things are going

Heartlantern2 · 28/12/2020 19:36

I don’t think you have a daughter in law problem....you have a son problem!

He should be being a man and supporting his children, not dumping them for a new girlfriend like a rat!

DifficultPifcultLemonDifficult · 28/12/2020 19:36

Gosh, your poor son. Its almost like he has no thoughts or opinions of his own and has unwittingly allowed a relationship with this woman to take priority over his own kids.

FlibbertyGiblets · 28/12/2020 19:37

Oooh er!

Lockdownlife245 · 28/12/2020 19:37

My MIL used to love me until her daughter (SIL) started being a pain in the a55 and we went NC with her. MIL probably doesn’t like me much anymore but only because we stood up to SIL and said we wanted nothing to do with her. She blames me even though her son hates his sister too.

newusername2009 · 28/12/2020 19:39

My MiL doesn’t like me. I know her son rewrites the truth and I have decided not to correct it. He is and always will be right in her eyes so I just let her think I am a monster - I do however avoid her as much as possible which clearly makes her like me even less.

Craiglang · 28/12/2020 19:39

Wow, your son sounds absolutely awful. What kind of man moves in a new girlfriend and her kids while not seeing his own? That's shocking. If that were my son I'd be so ashamed.

SantaPranki · 28/12/2020 19:39

Not really @Ifonlyihadknown79 .

She has no "legal " link to your son though.

Just stand your ground. You will not tolerate it . She's not welcome.

Mulhollandmagoo · 28/12/2020 19:40

Surely it's your son's decision not to see his children? I wouldn't ever entertain anyone who made my relationship with my children difficult so he has a large part to play here! She might be a difficult personality but him not seeing his kids is on him

evenBetter · 28/12/2020 19:41

Your son picks shit women, maybe the focus should be on why he is failing his kids, rather than his latest shag, eh?

Oreservoir · 28/12/2020 19:43

Sorry op but your ds has put his new gf first because having sex and frolics is more fun than parenting his dc.
I’d be wondering what sort of man I’d raised.

Ifonlyihadknown79 · 28/12/2020 19:46

This is what I can't understand him not seeing the kids he was a devoted dad! Its like he's been brain washed and its heartbreaking to sit back and watch...
I am totally embarrassed and ashamed by his behaviour but the new G.F is not helping the situation at all.

OP posts:
Thesearmsofmine · 28/12/2020 19:46

OP why are you by blaming your son for these things?

Ifonlyihadknown79 · 28/12/2020 19:47

19:43Oreservoir totally agree with you! Have told him to stop thinking with his dick!

OP posts:
Ifonlyihadknown79 · 28/12/2020 19:52

She got pregnant after 3 months together.. New baby was born 5 months ago. Now she is using the new baby as an excuse for him not to see his other children.

OP posts:
Ifonlyihadknown79 · 28/12/2020 19:53

Auntydolly no he didn't.
