I have 3 mutts. The 3sr/onesize ones. They are great.

Octo - do you have any tips on working out how much something costs to sell. Ie once including shipping to you, then customs if necessary, paypal fees etc. I want to offer my products as cheap as possible but obviously it still needs to be more than what I have paid altogether.

Anybody got any tips for fluffing up ittis? I have some that are not that fluffy anymore? They were preloved but I have only used once. Will tumble drying (as a one off) help? I am going to have an itti day tomorrow with Talia and if she leaks through them all again then I am going to be listing them for sale . The snap in ones anyway. I will be stocking ittis anyway so if I want to try them again, I can always try a stock one.

JennyPenny22 · 25/08/2009 22:50

Oh and I just bought this UD: here

thebluefoxategreensocks · 25/08/2009 23:59

I think everyone must be robbing banks to fund all this nappy shopping! LOL I don't have any "nappy funds" at the moment! Seems I've just about sold all the nappies that we don't use or don't suit my boys (apart from size 1s, which go stored away for any future babies!), so don't have any nappies to sell for funds! Oh well - guess that means I don't need any! LOL

I think I've got about 45 size 2 Tots Bots (bamboo & cotton ones), and that's what seems to fit/work best for both of my boys, so guess I'll just have to try and be content! And occasionally get cute wraps! At least we have nice night nappies (Bedbugs) and the odd other nappies (velour WNNL with embroidery, dalmation BerryPlush, and various one size hemp nappies) ... but seems everyone else has really exciting stashes! I used to have a big variety and a lot more interesting ones, but I've really cleared a lot out to make life more simple!
....and since we're moving house in about 6 weeks time (buying a bigger house! ) it's a good excuse to try and not have so much excess stuff to pack up & move!

If only I could clear out some pushchairs - didn't know they were so hard to sell (in particular a M&P travel system)! I've had 3 failed local attempts at people buying my prized Kolcraft, so that I'm really feeling tempted to keep it ... but having just bought me a Phil & Teds tonight, I should be selling it to pay for the P&T!

Anyway, that's my life story I've just posted! Better shut up before anyone tells me to!

Hahaha Rachel - your like me, I always get side tracked and start telling my life story! lol. Its all good though, I like that we all "know" each other on this thread.

I have run out of funds now really but keep using the credit card . Which actually isn't like me!

I WAS getting frustrated with spending hours on my site and not getting anywhere, until I found the preview button and saw all my hard work come together! There are a few things bugging me about it but nothing major. One thing I think is going to be a problem though - there doesn't seem to be an option to add a quantity to items. I seem to be able to either allow customers to buy multiples or only one. Not much good if I say had 2-3 in stock - wouldn't want to sell more than I have! Maybe wishful thinking!

Its so frustrating waiting for stock and some wholesalers take days to email back - I want to start selling! Although I have got a bit ahead of myself and added products to my site already (which isn't live!! lol). There doesn't seem to be any option to put them "out of stock" so if my website goes live before the products arrive I will have to delete them and start again .

Has anybody used all fleece pockets? With no PUL? I tried a minki pocket ages ago and didn't like it but at that time nothing really worked for Elouise so it wasn't really a fair test. I have a sample on its way from china that will hopefully be here by the end of this week or next week to try. From the picture it looks lovely and soft and comfy. But not sure on its reliability. Hoping to put it to the test on my 2! Its hard to test things with Talia as she wets through most pockets/AIOs etc. Only thing that works well is things like UD, WNNL, BBH etc.

I need to go to bed but getting too into this website now! lol

BaronConker · 26/08/2009 07:57

rachel I'm not really buying anything at the moment either - I'm trying to love the nappies that I have! I finally managed to sell a pushchair last week for £40 but that's gone already, and having sold three this summer, I'm sick of sitting home all day with the boys waiting for couriers.

JennyPenny22 · 26/08/2009 08:43

I stayed up too late on here last night! I am reakky struggling to keeep my eyes open. Have also got a really bad back!

Octothechildherder · 26/08/2009 08:50

Yorky - the outer of the bag is cotton.

If you need bamboo - I have bambinex popper or Lollipop velcro - both are very good bamboo nappies and in stock so could post asap.

Jenny - my site lets me fill in quantity but I don't make it visible to the buyer - I also have out of stock stuff which supplies and email immediately to the buyer - if I don't have something I either say it is on its way to me or remove it - much easier than then emailing people to tell them that their product is out of stock - as I buyer myslef I find that very annoying! ((note to self to update site!) Am going to ask MN for a business mums section or if not will set one up with freeforums.

2cb - bags in post today.

Octothechildherder · 26/08/2009 08:55

Jenny - will email you later re margins etc as my sister is here.

4andnotout · 26/08/2009 10:28

Morning all

I try and allow myself £10 or so a week for internet shopping ie nappy, buggy accessories, organised mum stuff etc etc. I don't go out and drink, don't buy new clothes (although dp has promised that will change and will buy me some funky clothes) and don't smoke anymore so this is my treat money

I'm waiting for loads of parcels, bet they all arrived when my grandparents are here just so that i look like a complete shopaholic!

TheNatty · 26/08/2009 10:45

you lot are a VERY bad influence..
i just bought three mutts.

i want to get UD fitteds but im going to resist.

i must sell all my size ones.. dont spose anyone needs any

Octothechildherder · 26/08/2009 11:23

Could someone link me to muts please?

JennyPenny22 · 26/08/2009 11:33

Can I ask you all a question:

If you could recommend me one product to stock on my site - what would it be? I am just trying to arrange ittis at the moment and same with coolababy. I think I have got everything sorted really but thought I would ask you guys that incase I was missing something great!

JennyPenny22 · 26/08/2009 11:34

ocot - 2CB linked to them on the previous page (page 37) 4th post from the bottom

Octothechildherder · 26/08/2009 13:18

It depends Jenny whether you want to capture the bespoke-ish nappy market or broader users - Bumgenius sells more than anything - along with Lollipop and bambinex - smaller wahm products would suggest the mutts, puddlekins and maybe having some collaborations with other wahms from cnt.

If I could recommend one product it would be dream dris. They are fav by far atm.

Octothechildherder · 26/08/2009 13:18

The mutts look lovely ... has anyone used them overnight?

BaronConker · 26/08/2009 15:47

jenny Valium? Wouldn't it be great if you could buy it with paypal... Can you tell I'm in week 8 of the holidays (if you include the week that DS1 had off because he was poorly at the end of term).

Am sorely, sorely tempted by a patchwork custom nappy on UD. Do people think I should choose boy patches, or unisex patches? You don't get to see a pic to show you what they would be like, so I don't know. I do have boys but am not averse to a touch of girliness (ie my strawberry fields itti, and my fave strawberry tots wrap!) Wouldn't go so far as pink, but they wouldn't put that in unisex anyway, would they?

jenny again - I use minkis, but mine have pul inside the fleece...?

newspaperdelivery · 26/08/2009 18:18

hi all. haven't caught up as have a headache.

mysert nappy sent by a friend!!! Isn't that lush?

Am thinking of a must sell Jrnny, but cant! I think we need more wool items available at better prices. My longies the wool shop lady knitted for me were £15 in the most expensive wool the lady had, and they are great with frilled legs etc. The wool was not organic or hand dyed, but I wanted cream and beige stripes so that was cool with me! I'd be interested in a 'basic' range for woolly stuff.

Scotia · 26/08/2009 19:27

Oh yes, I agree with Tree, a value range of woolies would be fab Although I bought 3 balls of wool for the longies I am knitting and it cost £7.50 - then I had to make them shorties as I was going to run out of wool. So it would cost about £10 for materials alone for a pair of basic longies.

Hope your headache goes soon Tree.

4andnotout · 26/08/2009 19:29

Hi everyone

My wnos came today and is lovely, has been washed already and is ready to be worn tommorow!

Having a lovely quiet evening as dp has taken the dd's to his parents to celebrate their anniversary, have plucked my eyebrows and tried out some new slap in peace, it's been bliss!!

Octothechildherder · 26/08/2009 19:40

ooh 4 - sounds fab! I got a free No7 kit the other day - must go and try it out - although the blue eyeliner looks scary!

Octothechildherder · 26/08/2009 19:40

Good value woolly products would be fab.

4andnotout · 26/08/2009 19:46

I want to get the no 7 tinted moisturiser aparently it's very good. I have a teal eyeliner which i love but rarely use, makes me feel a bit like a dinner lady.

Octothechildherder · 26/08/2009 19:59

lol at dinner lady look! Hmmm greasy hair, hair net, sweat dripping from brow, teal eyeliner - nice! (((get out clause - no offence to dinner ladies!)))

twoclimbingboys · 26/08/2009 20:29

scotia - I bought large mutts!

octo - I don't think mutts would last the night at all tbh. Thank you for posting those bags - the medium is for nappies and the small for mummy fluff. I've never tried it before but have quite a bit of puddlekins on their way to me.

jenny - I agree with tree that value woollies would be a great seller.

I am way too boring for brightly coloured make up. In fact I am too lazy to even wear make up at all these days!

newspaperdelivery · 26/08/2009 20:46

H is in a brown itti and cream casmere cardi, with fat legs and lovely neat red head. She looks like an advert for chocolate or fabric softner, all creamy and soft and awwwwwww
