I bought mediums for ds when he was about 10lbs, and we are on larges now that he is about 18lbs, so I really can't imagine a small still fitting at 16lbs.

I bought mine from Nappyzone and Crafty n Clothy. Octo on here sells them too. They do get snapped up quickly second hand too and it's not much more expensive to buy them new.

ZippysMum · 25/08/2009 12:32

I can't put up a wanted ad as I'm not subscribed to CAT.
Will watch this forum - where should I look for Octo?

mumface · 25/08/2009 12:37

Go to Nappywardrobe website use code mnocto.

That code gets you a 10% discount (I think that's right )

purplesal · 25/08/2009 12:49

Zippys mum - you won't regret the pop'n'gros - they are a great flexible nappy and the 2 boosters make them even more versatile.

But they are bulky on newborns - they will fit from 6lbs but will look bulky until about 8lbs.

So some small itti bittis would be perfect for your itti bitti twins (but rather indulgent!!! But then itti bittis are always indulgent aren't they at their price!!!)

ZippysMum · 25/08/2009 13:18

Thanks all! I do love the pop and gros - and I loved the colours etc when I first saw them - and the practicality of a birth to potty. But those Ittis just look so strokeable and furry!!

Thanks for the info on the discount, too. Might just get 2 Ittis for pure self-indulgence.

Scotia · 25/08/2009 14:22

Purplesal, are the pop'n'gros good for night times? I've never tried one yet.

Have just ordered an orange wrap with a gecko on

TheNatty · 25/08/2009 15:03

has anyone tried BG AIO?
bibsnbots.info/a-i-o-nappies-bumgenius-c-34_63

dawntigga · 25/08/2009 15:51

Erm, newbie questions - sorry if I'm boring!

Looking at the fleece nappies - don't they get a bit warm in them?

KnowNothingAboutAnythingHowZenAmITiggaxx

JennyPenny22 · 25/08/2009 16:26

It is fun setting it all up but it is also very hard work! And expensive!! I have already spent £300 or so and haven't even got any nappies yet . I am holding back now though and will just get nappies and wraps for now to sell on.

Purplesal - did you get my email this time? .

Ittis are lovely. Do you know if you are having girls or boys?

dawn - welcome to the thread. What fleece nappies are you looking at? Fleece in general is very breathable so although it is warm in winter I think it is cooler than PUL or diposables in summer. I THINK.

dawntigga · 25/08/2009 16:54

Hi jenny tbh I'm looking at everything and somewhat bewildered by the choices - it feels like having to choose a pram again!

4andnotout · 25/08/2009 16:57

Ahh i love pram shopping!

ZippysMum · 25/08/2009 17:06

Hi Jenny,
No, we don't know if they're girls, boys or one of each. I saved a fortune when I discovered MN because I didn't spend the whole day browsing on Amazon - only to find this thread!! Still, I am impressed I haven't spent anything yet...

TheNatty · 25/08/2009 17:07

pram, nappy, and sling shopping. my favourite things!
will be very when this one grows up, ill have no nappies slings and prams to buy.

let us know when the site is up jen, would love to see it xx

dawntigga · 25/08/2009 17:21

Ok, have bought a trial back off Lizzies Real Nappies and 1 of Ebay - yikes! Am now very nervous I can't cope with real nappies.

Does the worry ever end??????

purplesal · 25/08/2009 17:45

Fleece nappies would be very hot to wear if babies didn't wee in them. But as soon as they are wet there is automatically exavporation / moisture permeability happening , and this is cooling. So as long as your baby is weeing then fleece nappies are fine even in hot weather.

Pop'n'gros make a fab night-time nappy as you can put in both boosters - bothe the bamboo one and the big fluffly microfibre one. Plus the nappy itself has some built in microfibre for some absorbency, unlike most AIOs where the inserts have to go into a pocket or be poppered in. I would think it would be almost impossible to outwee a pop'n'gro for that reason. Plus you can now buy the bamboo boosters separately if you just wanted to layer slimmer bamboo boosters.

If anyone wants to try a pop'n'gro or order separate bammboo boosters I will give 10% off to anyone from Mumsnet. (I'm going on holiday tomorrow for nearly a week, so get your request to me tonight or after next Monday!)

Octothechildherder · 25/08/2009 18:09

If thw twins are small - like 5lbs or lower - you could use the inserts like a prefold in an eennee snib - which is a tiny tie on nappy.

swampster · 25/08/2009 18:44

ZippysMum, my DS is still in his tiny small chocolate Itti at almost seven months. It is my current fave. He is only slightly smaller than average but quite wasp-waisted but it isn't even on the loosest setting. We are on holiday at the mo and it makes a fab swim nappy too.

swampster · 25/08/2009 18:49

And do you really think Ittis are indulgent/expensive, purplesal? I think Ittis are great value for money compared to other good-looking AIO/AI2/pockets (forget about the cheapy/ugly/gussety/non-furry nappies out there).

ZippysMum · 25/08/2009 18:54

Thanks Octo - they are already both over 5 1/2 lbs so hopefully we will be able to go straight to Ittis and Pop and gro's. We've also got some Nature disposables (dare I admit that here) since we'll probably be in hospital for 3 days or so.

Swampster - thanks. I think the chocolate Ittis are the way to go.... .

swampster · 25/08/2009 19:40

Forgot to say, DS3 of the small chocolate Itti was 15lb+ last time I weighed him about two weeks ago.

Octothechildherder · 25/08/2009 19:41

The small ittis will be perfect for them then

The other AIO I am into at the moment is the dream dri - loving it!

Jenny - hope things are going okay with your site - really hard to fit it in with kids!

Haven't had a great day - 3 lots of bad news, they say it comes in 3 I'm okay - all to other people/family.

My sister is here til tomorrow so postings may seem slightly random!

JennyPenny22 · 25/08/2009 19:43

Zippy - don't worry, we used disposables for a few days too. TBH that is what disposables were created for really - the times when it is hard to use the washables. I see it like using diposable plates at a party - it only occasionally but fine but you wouldn't use every day as its a waste.

newspaperdelivery · 25/08/2009 19:49

Hardly anytime to read...annoying!

Now, I have my wet bags Thank you Octo - super fast delivery and delighted with them!

ALso, today I recieved an Itti nappy from twinkle, I didn't order it and no note!!! A nappy fairy????? Odd!! Any ideas? I have rang but they were closed as am filled with wonder as you can imagine. No emails to offer a clue either!

Octothechildherder · 25/08/2009 19:53

OOOH a free nappy! Did you order it in your sleep??!! I was talking in my sleep last night about nappies

Ihave registered to sell on amazon - bit scary!
