Girls are good, Abby is much improved, she is on lactose reduced milk now, slowly increasing the lactose in her diet again and new reflux meds, she is like a new baby

Hey you lot.
Happy mothers day to all of you - the first time we've been able to say it to everyone!
Turk - so pleased to hear Abby is improving. Must be such a relief
Ei - another one on the iPhone I haven't used a normal pooter for ages. Laptop's bust anyway.

So far, I was woken at 5:30 but didn't drag my arse out Of my pit until 6. Let DH sleep in as I had a lie in yesterday (after night out)
I've just come back from the gym, 20 min run, 10 mins on cross trainer and a few sit ups, then a nice chill out in the jacuzzi - utter bliss....
Meeting my mother and sis for lunch later sans enfants! Gotta be careful as I started Weight Watchers this week (have lost 3 whole pounds - yes that's sarcasm, I'm so impatient)

I hope you all get spoilt rotten today
enjoy this lovely sunny day!

Hyena · 15/03/2010 19:11

Hope you all had a great day on Sunday. It seems that DP has finally for the hang of present buying - I had flowers, a manicure, pedicure, facial voucher for local beauty place, a mug and a card. It's only taken him four years.
Frazzle - We're waking at a similar time. It's a killer..especially when J's had me up in the night. Well done on the gym. I lost 4lb in the last two weeks without dieting. I've been trying not to over eat and not to snack on biscuits, cakes and lattes but it all went to pot over the weekend and I had quite a lot of wine.
Turk - Glad to hear that A is better.
Panda - I'm not at all jealous that you've got an iphone too . How are things?
Giraffe - Did you have a good 'un?
Penguin Is poorly PC recovered?

I need to buy some weaning books. He's just about 18 weeks now so not going to start him yet but I'll need lots of time to get my head around it. Any recommendations?
Might try a name change myself.

PickledMoomin · 15/03/2010 19:13

Testing, testing, 1-2-3. You like?!

havingagiraffe · 16/03/2010 10:50

BLW by Gill Rapley - it's the way forward I tell you!!!!!!

Back later with my new makeover

PickledMoomin · 16/03/2010 19:20

I'll get it ordered this week - that's the name of the book I was after.

Turkelton · 17/03/2010 10:05

Happy St. Patricks day everyone
Beannachtaí na Féile Pádraig oraibh!

FrazzleRock · 17/03/2010 13:41

Love the name pickled!
I think that's the book I have. Can't remember as I lent it to someone.
Happy St Patricks day to you Turk. I have no irish in me at all so no celebrations my end. Mind you, I don't celebrate St George's day either

Jacko's birthday tomorrow, eeek! How has that happened?

zebedeethezebra · 17/03/2010 16:40

Not entirely sure what this thread is about but it seems to have an animal theme so thought I'd join in! Hope you're all having a great day!

zebedeethezebra · 17/03/2010 16:41

PS any other zebras on here?

FrazzleRock · 17/03/2010 18:30

We old conception buddies - not old in age btw!

Meeeow · 18/03/2010 13:09

hi all! Happy (belated) Mother's day! had some time on my hands so thought i'd pop by and stop being so crap at checking in. should have an i phone soon so back on the mneting from my phone! Yay. for now it's stolen moments on the pc

Meeeow · 24/03/2010 12:37

is this still active?

FrazzleRock · 24/03/2010 19:16

It's just you and me baby!
Lovely day today wasn't it! We went to the park

Miles's mum just told me they are moving so I have a vacancy to fill. A little annoying as we want to book a holiday for beginning of June and finally could afford to put money aside each month, if I don't fill the vacancy asap we'll have to say goodbye to our holiday

PickledMoomin · 24/03/2010 19:24

I'm here too. It's rained here all day - rubbish. They've forecast a 30 degree summer.

Frazzle How much notice do they have to give? Hope you fill your place. Did J have a good first birthday? Buggar filling that place and head straight for #3.

Not much going on here - DD breaks up for Easter on Friday and I'll have her at home for 3.5 weeks. J continues to think sleep is for wimps and we've taken to co-sleeping for most of the night..needs must.

FrazzleRock · 24/03/2010 20:05

Oh yeah, J's 1st birthday. Yes went well thank you. Poor sod didn't get a party (like the pfb ) just went to playgroup as usual then on to Frankie and Benny's for lunch
got loads of lovely Gap/Joules clothes
very few toys (thank god!) our flat's too small for toys although a friend of mine thought it'd be wise to give jack this big massive all singing all dancing fisher price pull along thing He adores it though, again

pickled - 3.5 weeks! that's what you get for sending privately, serves you right for being smug
C breaks up next Thursday and has 2 weeks off.
Shame about lack of sleep, good job he's so bloody delicious!

PickledMoomin · 24/03/2010 20:37

LOL good ol' PFB. I hate toys - my uncluttered home is slowly becoming something that resembles Hamleys. And, J is just going to have to enjoy L's girlie toys because I can't bring myself to find homes for anything he might need.
I need to get new clothes for the kids. J's already in 6-9. Give me back my baby, pleasseeee!!!
Frazzle - Looks like we'll be sending her to the local state in Sept...how will she cope . Tis a very good school and I look forward to shorter hols.

PenguinPoo · 25/03/2010 20:04

Hello Hello Hello

Well PC is sort of fixed, it's going back and forth to the computer shop at the moment! All's well in Penguin Land E is growing and learning new things daily, time is just galloping away and I'm starting to feel v depressed at the thought of returning to work I've got one definate and one provisional place at two nurseries as I couldn't find a CM - Frazzle Such a shame you don't live closer!
E is still not going through the night, so could really do with that happening by 22nd June, no pressure
Pickled Can't believe J is in 6-9months! E is still in some of his 0-3mths but is just starting to creep into 3-6mths, it must be that gold top your feeding him!
Well I hope everyone else is OK and not abandoned us on a long term basis

FrazzleRock · 25/03/2010 21:03

Penguin, shame you couldn't find a CM Are you going back full time?

mamafox · 28/03/2010 07:40

Anyone remember me? (mamafox slinks in, tail between her legs.....)
So so slack I know I can think of 3 good reasons why I have become so slack & I had the brainwave to start studying this year, so am doing a Diploma of Bus Admin. Only 1 subject each semester, that is more than enough.....Work is currently considering if they will half of my study costs, which will be very nice if they do, works out to about $800/subject. I'll be going back to work 2 days a week, in July, the week after C turns 1. dh wanted me back by Easter, but I dug my heels in, he does sweet fa around here most of the time so I'm not running around like a blue arsed fly until I really have to.......
How is everyone else?

PickledMoomin · 29/03/2010 19:34

I think I remember you, Mamafox . Study plans sound great and fantastic that you've got longer off work.
I'm very jealous that E is still fitting into 0-3, Penguin. Where has my newborn gone? Not that he was ever that small.

Well, it's the hols. Today went fine - a trip to M&S, a play place and a few hours of ironing. Only 3 weeks left.

Meeeow · 01/04/2010 19:47

Hello, hello I've managed to make it back on and caught up a little. seems the babes are growing up fast! I's months now! Still no teeth though! no complaints. how is everyone? Frazzle; drop me a text over the hols so we can catch up x

CaptainNemo · 01/04/2010 21:35

Hello! please may I come in? Have brought blueberry muffins and carrot cake to apologise for being awol for so long

Glad to hear everyone is doing well, and that the babies are growing up fast! T is getting bigger every day, no teeth but gallons of dribble! She's settled in well with the childminders (2 girls working together) who are FAB, and she seems equally happy with either of them which is perfect, so no complaints there at least! Though they have EIGHT DAYS they can't do in July so no idea what we're going to do then!

Unfortunately other parts of our lives are not so straightforward... we found out in January that DH's dad has lung cancer... to cut a very long and tedious story short, they've been messed around outrageously and having been told it was cancer on 30th December, TODAY was the first time he's had any treatment... They've been told it's not too bad, then really awful, then fairly minor, then dreadful etc etc etc all the way through. Having gone into hospital yesterday for keyhole surgery for a tumour contained in the lung he was told AFTER HE WAS ADMITTED and MIL had gone home that actually it was much larger than they thought (7.5cm dia) and that they couldn't do keyhole, that it may well have come out of the lung and attached itself to the chest wall and that in fact it may be too advanced to operate at all.... So who knows. Latest this aft is that the op went really well, but on past showing god only knows what tomorrow will bring...

In other news.... My mum is still not fully recovered from her broken ankle (at the beginnning of November FFS) so isn't really able to help with T at all... Work is ok but frankly a big struggle. Am available to work every day, and T is at the CM's every day 8.30 til 2.30 as core hours, but I try to work at home some of the time in order to try to keep up with paperwork (ha bloody ha) DH is finding it more of a strain than I am I think, due to the nature of our jobs we don't know from one day to the next which of us will be dropping her off or what time I will finish and be able to pick her up, but no disasters so far, and the CMs are v flexible which helps enormously. I don't mind taking things one day at a time, but DH likes to know what he's doing in advance which is tough for him. Coupled with the fact that I'm trying to fit a full time job into part time hours so I can spend time with T in the afternoons, makes for a pretty stressful time all in all.

Plus we've all had pretty awful colds, but poor T had it worst. DH has been feeling rough for weeks and is off for blood tests next week... I'm pretty sure it's a combination of stress and exhaustion rather than anything else. We'll see.

On a more cheerful note, we've booked a holiday (we can't afford)(at all) in May. We're off to Kefalonia for a week (for a well deserved break I reckon!) yippee! So I'd be grateful for any tips from any of you who have done this before on what we should take with us, tips for plane journeys with a baby etc etc. Am going to go and search for threads which might help in a sec...

So think that's it for now! Hope everyone has a lovely easter xx
