PenguinPoo · 12/02/2010 16:02

Well I hope you all have good excuses for not posting
Hyena As you know I'm trying a bedtime routine too, ours is slightly later as E goes down at about 9pm depending on his last evening feed, think next step is the cot in the nursery as I miss not being able to watch tv in our bedroom, DH doesn't like much of what I watch so I'm having to record it all
Fruity Sounds like your getting broody for another baby now J is growing up so fast! He sounds like a right handful, cheeky but cute, can't wait to meet him and C.

I'm making the most of my sister visiting and entertaining E, he's just presented her with a sh*tty nappy, I've told her its because he loves her Bless!

Hope everyone is well?

PenguinPoo · 12/02/2010 16:03

Oh and Fruity a cleaner - I should be so lucky! Would love one but will have to wait til I win the lottery!

hippopotamum · 15/02/2010 15:15

Hello ladies !

Apologies for absence. It is a busy old life working and being a mummy ! I can't really complain though, 3 days isn't too bad .

I am off work today as have a terrible tummy bug - just running to the loo though which is good as I hate vomitting. E is asleep so thought I'd grab 5 mins to catch up.

I have noticed the FB emails about meeting up and am very of you all.

Fruity E loves to swtich the TV off too, it is one of his favourite games along with flushing the toilet and climbing on the fireplace !

Nemo how is sleeping going and how are you feeling about returning to work ?

Hyena and Penguin good luck with bedtime routines, it is so great to get your evenings back . Much as I love my time with E, I am always glad to put him down so that I can have some 'me time' - which usually involves preparing his bag for the next day and cleaning up his mess ! And once that is all done there is about 10 mins for me to relax

Griaffe get the wee boy trained - MN time is not N time !

Panda sorry to hear about DH's job - hope you enjoy the meetup, I know you are very excited ! It is rubbish that I can't come but it was lovely to meet you when you came to Stirling

Oh and cleaner - I wish too !! DP would never allow it . he can't understand why you'd pay someone to do something you can easily do yourself - even though it is tedious and I'd rather be having quality family time grrr !

Hi ladies

Good luck to hyena and penguin with the routines , K goes to bed now at 7.30 but A refuses to settle till at least 10 lol, still though even having one babs in bed makes all the difference

Hippo hope the tummy feels better soon

Well A has gotten much worse since the last time I was on, in the last 2 days she has started to refuse all feeds deffo dont think it is reflux, had her at the doc yesterday who now has her on antibiotics for a sore throat, I'm not convinced though because she will take her solids ok and surely if her throat was sore she would be refusing them too? have managed to get her an appointment with hospital consultant for tomorrow so hopefully she will shed some light, poor little mite is not taking any milk at all at the moment and struggling to get baby rice in too

Fruitbatlings · 17/02/2010 09:28

Sorry to hear about little A Turk I hope someone can work out what's wrong. It's so frustrating babies can't just tell you! It's so much guess work. I hope she's feeling better soon xx
Hippo how's the tummy? My friend was talking about a sick bug yesterday, I had no idea there was another one doing the rounds but now I think about it, I've seen loads of vomit on the pavements round here, weird As for the cleaner comment made by your DP, if he thinks it's so easy he can do it himself can't he? DH said we could think about a cleaner. I just can't keep up with all the dust and grime, even in our teeny flat.
penguin I'd love another baby - well I'd love to be pregnant again, I really miss it and the excitement of having a new baby. I get really of pregnant women then I remember how tiring those first few weeks are. J is now so much easier, if a little grumpy! Plus I'd have to give up my job, which I can't afford to and move into a bigger house which we also can't afford to do. But broody as hell anyway!
Hyena how's the bedtime routine going? Is it half term in Wales? I'm bored already. No playgroups open in hols and soft play centres hoick their prices up so that's a no go.
Not long till the meet up!

I rejoined the gym yesterday and went for a run last night, it felt really good. Hopefully I'll shift this ever growing muffin top!

PenguinPoo · 17/02/2010 19:31

Just a quickie I have a poorly PC so won't be able to post much if at all
Turk sorry to hear A is poorly, hope she recovers quickly
fruity Lol at your reaction to pg women, I look at them and think oh god poor woman! the idea of being pg again makes me feel ill!
Hippo I will be asking you for tips on returning to work sooner than I would like to think Dreading it and although it's not until the end of June it seems to be approaching very fast

Hyena · 18/02/2010 19:43

The bedtime routine doesn't seem to be going too badly for the moment. I've usually got to resettle him a few times over the evening and then he'll wake between 4 and 6 for a feed .... long may it last.
Penguin Poor PC. Thank God you've still got your mobile.
Fruit Yes, half term in Wales. Roll on next week when D is back at work and L at school. Well done you on exercise. I'm going to try eating less. I lost all my baby weight and now it's zooming creeping back on.
Turk Any news on A? Hope she's feeling better.
Hippo Nearly everyone I know has had D&V over the last few weeks. How are you feeling now? Has E had it?

Only just over a week til the meet up. Can someone please send me the details (time, location etc) because I'll forget otherwise. Look forward to it.

Turkelton · 18/02/2010 21:15

Hi all,

Just a quick post between screams, not much improvement with A yet, they have her booked in for a barium (sp?) swallow xray next tuesday and have managed to convince them to admit her as a day patient for tomorrow to observe her eating or should i say not eating, unfortunatly feels like talking to brick wall talking to docs cause they dont seem to want to take it seriously until she starts to lose weight

Hope everyone else is doing good, very of meet up

PandaEis · 18/02/2010 21:19

turk just a question (hello BTW) but have they tested her for lactose intolerance? my friend was told her DS had reflux and went through hell as nothing was helping and i told her to insist on an intolerance test and he has intolerance so needs soya-based milk now. it is worth getting tested as i was lactose intolerant as a baby and it caused quite a few stomach probs due to it not being picked up for over 6 months! hope she is ok
hi to everyone else
a week and 2 days to GGGOOOOOOOOOO!!!!

Turkelton · 19/02/2010 09:23

thanks ei good idea, will ask in the hospital today, on way now

Hyena · 19/02/2010 16:08

O God Turk - what a nightmare. I hate the way they're so dismissive. You know your own child FFS. Thinking of you all xxx

Turkelton · 19/02/2010 19:47

Hi ladies, sorry for another me post,

hospital didnt really shed much light on anything, they not keeping her over night, said they will send all her notes and charts from today to her consultant, ei think you might of hit the nail on the head, picked up some colief drops today ( they break down the lactose in the milk ) and used there at her last feed and she took 6 ounces hopefully will continue, better go, bedtime screaming match going on here

PandaEis · 20/02/2010 00:24

Turk i hope so you can buy small cartons of soya/lactose-free milk so it might be worth a try. I hope she is feeling better soon and things settle down for you xx

PandaEis · 23/02/2010 20:15

hey ladies

only a few days to go until we meet we almost couldnt come due to cashflow p[roblems but i sorted them out and now nowt is going to stop us

hope everyone is doing ok

PandaEis · 24/02/2010 19:30

er...ok...ignore my last post
a big bill has come in and has put a halt to our plans so now we cant come on saturday i am gutted

Fruitbatlings · 25/02/2010 11:38

WHAT???!!!!!!!!!

there must be something you can do????!!!!!
I would lend you the money but I'm pretty strapped myself.
Please come!!

PenguinPoo · 25/02/2010 15:08

Panda I so wanted to meet you Please please try if you can but we're struggling at the moment so I understand if you can't
Turkleton So sorry to hear A is so poorly, really hope they can sort her out soon.

Still have poorly PC so abusing mum's at the moment, also means that they fuss over E and I don't have to lift a finger!

All well with us, E is settling into his bedtime routine really well, goes down anything between 7-8pm and we very rarely hear from him. Dream feed at 10/11pm and then he wakes about 2.30/3.00am and then seems to wake at 5.00am regardless, once DH gets up at 6.00 am he comes into bed with me

Turkelton · 25/02/2010 20:50

Penguin glad to hear E is taking to his routine so well
A is actually doing really well, thank you ei for suggesting the lactose intolorance thing, I never would have thought of it to be honest and it never came up on any of my endless google searchs of her symptoms but she is on lactose free milk now and is thriving 7 - 8 oz bottles 5 times a day again for the last few days and fingers crossed it continues
Have to say am very of this meet up on sat did look into going alright but flights are very expensive maybe will make the next one

Fruitbatlings · 01/03/2010 10:37

It turns out C had a bug on sat. I hope we've not passed it to any if you! I was feeling nauseous all sat night and DH was chucking up last night, which means he's home all day today
Anyway, it was so lovely to see you all on sat, I can't wait for the next meet up!
Shame some of you couldn't make it.
Better go, at playgroup and mindee crying (as usual)....

Impala · 02/03/2010 06:32

I haven't posted here for ages I hope everyone is well. I was so sorry not to make the meet-up on Saturday, it looks as though you had a great time from the photo on FB. Hopefully we'll make the next one! E has been better over the past couple of days after having a bad day on Saturday so hopefully her teeth have come through. I can't check as she won't let me put my finger in her mouth!
Turkelton Glad A is doing so much better on her lactose-free milk. A great suggestion from Panda there.
Panda Hope you're OK - what a shame you couldn't make it on Saturday either.
Hope everyone else is OK.

Hyena · 02/03/2010 19:26

I've got it Fruit but prob not from him because there's loads of it around. L, J and D seem ok for the moment but I've been useless and D's taken the day off to look after me. Hope you're all feeling better xx

Hope you've seen the end of the teething probs, Impala.

Hyena · 08/03/2010 18:53

You're all quiet ... total of 0 posts since my post last week .

FrazzleRock · 09/03/2010 21:34

Like my new name? Tis fruity btw

PenguinPoo · 11/03/2010 21:09

FrazzleRock Love the new name
Well hope you are all well? My excuse for lack of contact is that my PC is still poorly but hoping to get it repaired this weekend, hurray!
So what's everyone else's excuse?????

Will be back over weekend hopefully to catch up properly x

havingagiraffe · 13/03/2010 19:26

Yes Penguin and Hyena we have put on a pretty poor show since the meet up haven't we.

I have no good excuse I've just got out of the habit of coming on MN at all - it does have a habit of sucking you in a touch so I've been staying away. Have been off FB a bit too.

Love the new name Frazzle, speaking of which I might go back to my old one - feeling a bit nostalgic and miss it a bit.

We are all fine. DP is just doing the final bit of bedtime as I am just not in the mood for it tomorrow.

Mother's day tomorrow - the first one for some of us so quite exciting - any plans? We are staying at home but I will be insisting on being given lots of free time to do nothing
