Fruitbatlings · 30/12/2009 21:09

easy now tiger, it was too early to test remember!

PenguinPoo · 30/12/2009 21:27

Fruity So glad to hear the "haemorraging" is calming down Although it does sound like a horrid one making up for all the other ones you don't get! How nasty of her!
EI Well I'm not going to be about the BFN as it was too early so I will still stay hopeful of a BFP for 2010!
Hippo E seems quite good at settling himself (probably cursed it now!) so I'm hopeful it won't be too hard, he's got a glo worm well glo seahorse to be precise that plays lullabies that he adores and seems to know when that goes on its time to sleep, I'm sure the novelty will wear off soon though I agree with Giraffe there is a part of me that wants you to test oo At least DP didn't go off the deep end at the possibility
Giraffe Have to admit I'm not in a rush to add to the washing load, but don't want to put it off to long as I probably will never get round to it! Thanks for your comments on routine too much appreciated.
Fruity I take it you now have eyes in the back of your head now, with two mobile little ones you will have your hands full especially when the mindees are there too

E has been feeding every 2/2.5 hrs today, its seems to have been non-stop so I hope he's having a growth spurt and not turning into some kind of milk monster
As for NYE plans, we will be in for the 3rd year running although at least our excuse is a much nicer one this year, so it will be DH, myself and E with Jools Holland to entertain us. Just in case I don't get on tomorrow I want to wish you all a very Happy New Year and lets hope 2010 finds us as strong as 2009 did x x

PandaEis · 30/12/2009 21:28

yeah yeah im sticking to the hard liquor wine and lemos i think but i have too many wasted evenings and disappointing tests afterwards that im going to enjoy this NYE, my last 2 were poo to the Nth degree so this one WILL be a good'un

penguin good to hear E is feeding well i hope you have a lovely NYE all snuggly and warm i hope 2010 is FABULOUS for all of us and hopefully i will have a snuggly bundle by next christmas/NY

Fruitbatlings · 31/12/2009 21:48

Happy new year to all you old tarts [slowly getting drunk] )much love to all of you gorgeous ladies

Impala · 01/01/2010 07:42

Happy new year to all you lovely ladies Hope you all had a good night last night! We did, DH cooked a lovely meal and we'd just settled down to watch Jules Holland when E decided to wake up and we couldn't resettle her despite our best efforts so she joined us too. She was quite mesmerised by Jools bless her and also the fireworks. She then went back to sleep without any problems at 12.30 so she obviously knew something was up and didn't want to miss out!
Penguin Glad E is feeding and sleeping well I'm not the person to ask about bedtime routines given that E slept in a sling in the evenings until she was 6 months old, although we did start a bedtime routine from about 8 weeks or so and continued with that. She just then went in the sling to sleep. She's an extreme case though, I'm sure E will settle into a routine a lot quicker than that! (I certainly hope so for your sake) Enjoy the early days with him, as Giraffe said, they're over so quickly.
Ei Keeping everything crossed for you
Fruity I was desperate for E to crawl too - I was far less desperate for her to walk However, she has been walking for the past couple of weeks and this week we went to buy her first pair of shoes. So sweet! Perhaps it's a boy thing being into everything because she's just not bothered about plug sockets/ornaments etc. and is happy playing with just her toys. We haven't had to babyproof our house at all. That could yet change of course... Hope you enjoyed the NYE party!
Hippo Glad DP wasn't entirely averse to the idea of DC2... It sounds as though you have a busy week ahead though so I think I'd be doing the same as you too. Perhaps AF is late because of all the stress of Christmas/going back to work etc. How many days a week are you going to be working?
Giraffe You're brave thinking of going swimming! Our pool has been shut over the Christmas break so I don't have to brave the cold until next week thank goodness.
Hope you all have a lovely day. We're off to my mum's for lunch for some more food

hippopotamum · 01/01/2010 11:43

Happy New Year ladies !!! Here's to a happy, healthy and prosperous 2010. Sounds like you had fun ladies

impala sounds like you have a wee party animal on your hands there

Penguin LOL at 'milk monster' and it is great that E has something that he associates with sleep - that will make life far easier for you if he can settle himself . I have to say it sounds as if you have taken to this motherhood malarky like a duck to water xx

Well update here is that spotting started yesterday [big sigh of relief with teeny weeny bit of disappointment !!] so I was free to get well and truly stuck into the champagne and red wine - mmm ! We had friends round as it was DP's birthday - we had haggis, neeps and tatties with whisky sauce - yum !!! After the bells our neighbours popped in and 'first footed' us with shortbread and a lump of coal - very traditional NY, the way it used to be when I was little (do you do that in England ?) Anyway, the glory of champagne means that I am hangover-free while DP looks like dath warmed up !! We managed to last until 2.30am then E woke at 7am (late for him) had his milk then cuddled in untilo 8am - a minor miracle

Turkelton · 01/01/2010 21:01

Happy christmas ladies and a very happy new year

havingagiraffe · 02/01/2010 09:05

Happy New Year 'Mummies of the Net' as we are ALL Mummies now, which we couldn't say this time last year.

Hope you all had a lovely time. Was going to catch up with you all but N is squawking for more mini shredded wheat! I wish he could learn to take from a plate/bowl without picking it up and throwing it on the floor.

PandaEis · 02/01/2010 13:36

hi ladies
happy new year to everyone
we had a good one
giraffe you are quite right, we are all mummies now just a little idea for the plate throwing thing...i decided that if DD was in her high chair, i would put any and all food (except purees) on the tray and forget the plate most of the food goes into the mouth and not from the plate to the floor!! saves alot of dishes too
hi to everyone else
soooo... news from me....

PandaEisGOTABFP · 02/01/2010 13:55

what dya think of my new name ladies??

penguinpoo · 02/01/2010 14:32

And about bloody time too!!!
Congratulations what a wonderful start to the year I bet you are over the moon. Get started on the baby aspirin and look after yourself this is very precious cargo!
So very pleased for you, you and DH deserve this so much, I'm having a little tear for you x

Hope you all celebrated New Year exactly as you wanted to and had a fantastic time

Impala How lovely to see the new year in with E, obviously she didn't want to miss out. I bet you have cursed things now by saying you haven't had to babyproof!
Hippo Definately a scottish tradition being first footed, nothing like that here, which is a shame, I love traditions like that. I'm not suprised you had mixed emotions about the spotting, it's like the old days when your body messes with your head!
Turkleton How are you and the twins getting on?

Well I came down with a D&V bug yesterday, feel a bit better today but it meant DH was in sole charge of E, what a nightmare that was, not to bad to start but by the afternoon he was getting really stressed as E has taken to throwing up lots after his feed. I got quite worried at how short tempered he was but he got through it, he did all the night feeds too It was bliss!! He finally admitted he didn't realise how hard it was looking after a baby and I now feel quite valued! Almost worth being ill He's a lot more confident now and has taken E into town on his own leaving me with a disaster zone of a house

CaptainNemo · 02/01/2010 14:35

BLOODY BLOODY HELL!!!!! I come on here to catch up with everyone while on hold to the water company to try to find out why our cold tap is running BROWN and what do I find?????? DETAILS PANDA, we want DETAILS!!! Big love, and happy new year to all. Reckon the only way for me to ever keep up again is to get an iphone.... hmmm.... sadly birthdya not til august! xx

PS Panda is yuor new nickname is for real PLEASE make sure you get on the baby aspirin TODAY if it was indicated, will be PRAYING for a sticky one for you! xx

Fruitbatlings · 02/01/2010 14:41

Just out with my mum but just got a text from penguin. Ei!!!!! I bloody knew you'd done it!! Congratulations my lovely, I'm so happy for you xxxxxxxxxxxxx

penguinpoo · 02/01/2010 14:46

Panda Now that was spooky I text Fruity CaptainNemo & Giraffe as I have numbers for them to tell them to check out MN so they could see your news and Nemo* was already here!

PandaEisGOTABFP · 02/01/2010 15:06

nemo yep i tested LAST NIGHT!! and got a BFP then again this morning and got a darker BFP but BFN on CBD AF isnt due til either tomorrow or monday and i am 10 or 11 DPO so CBD -ve is expected anyway i have another CBD to do during the week tomorrow

hippopotamum · 02/01/2010 16:57

WHOOOPPPEEEEE MASSSIVE CONGRATULATIONS Panda - this is the best NY ever !! I hope you had a boozy NY as that is the last p!ss up you'll be having for a while. Look after yourself missus and if it has been advised then take the asprin ASAP and make that bean stick. I am so, so pleased for you my dear !! When you due ? Must be August sometime is it ?...

Penguin glad you are feeling valued (even though you had to get ill first). I am always amazed at how much DP complains when he has E on his own for a few hours - 'I am so exhausted, it is such hard work' etc... but he still thinks maternity leave is a complete walk in the park !!!

Talking of which, am back at work on Wednesday . E starts nursery on Tuesday . Booooo it is the end of a very happy 13 months. I have managed to stretch mat leave out for 14 entire months though so I shouldn't complain !

And news from here is that spotting has all but stopped, but have been in a foul mood all day so I suspect the witch is about to make her visit .

PandaEisGOTABFP · 02/01/2010 17:22

hippo glad AF is on her merry way for you now but BOOO to having to go back to work[
i am on the asprin permanemtly as the APS/LA is now affecting my joints my consultant for rhumatology was very concerned that i had joint pain in conjunction with the Lupus Anticoagulant Disorder as it can indicate further problems so she wrote a VERY stern letter to my GP who had refused to give me the asprin and i am now on it as routine i only found all this out when i went to pick my repeat prescription up on wednesday and didnt even notice until thursday that asprin was on it i am now taking it and the folic acid so i am confident i am giving this little cub a chance fingers crossed xx

havingagiraffe · 02/01/2010 18:06

HURRAH HURRAH HURRAH Ei got a BFP and Hippo didn't (although secretly I am rather disappointed about that )

Am so chuffed for you my lovely. Very excited - take care of you and that precious panda cub. xx

(and you still gave advice re plates - bless you!)

Impala · 03/01/2010 06:38

Didn't get chance to get on MN yesterday so hadn't seen Panda's news until now! Huge congratulations to you! I am so pleased for you and I'm praying for a sticky one. It sounds as though your consultant is on top of things with the aspirin etc though. What a great start to 2010 for you!
Penguin Hope you're feeling better, D&V bugs are horrible. Hope E escapes it and glad that DH has realised what hard work it is! My DH has had a week off this week and he's been dealing with E more than he has ever done before so I think he'll be glad to go back to work for a rest!
Hippo Glad AF is on her way but sorry about having to go back to work. You'll soon get into the swing of it though and E will be fine at nursery. Just watch out for all the bugs in the first few weeks!
As for the first-footing thing, when my dad was alive he used to go out just before midnight on new year's eve and then come back just after with greenery (I don't know which neighbour's hedge he would decimate!) and we'd give him silver money in exchange for a branch. He was from Yorkshire so I don't know if it was a tradition from there or whether his father had Scottish roots. I do miss that tradition though This is the sixth year without him I've tried to persuade DH to pick up the tradition but he's not been keen so far.

mamafox · 03/01/2010 11:11

Wow Panda, fantastic news!!!! So happy for you, what a wonderful way to start the New Year and new decade Will you be under consultant care for this one?
And Hippo, not sure whether to be sorry or not that you aren't expecting again....maybe it's a sign that will get dp keener on the idea of another small person Bummer you have to go back to work too, but 14mths off is a good effort How many days a week will you be working?
Xmas and New Year were lovely here Spent Xmas morning at home, as it was also dd2's 4th bday. We arrived at my sister's at the Sunshine Coast at 12.30pm Xmas day and had a late lunch there, with swimming in the pool and drinking champers compulsory
Went to the sales on Boxing Day, my dad came to visit on 27th & we went to the beach and took the kayak out on the 29th - we eventually came home on 29th
NYE we were going to a party at a friend's place nearby but ds had a cold and was asleep most nights this week by 6.15pm, plus on the morning of the 2/1 I feel 2 little bumps in his gums, one at the top and one at the bottom, so 2 teeth are finally coming through after months of dribbling. So I'm glad we stayed home as he wasn't quite himself.
We skyped with some friends in the UK on 1/1 in the morning (was still 31/12 for you guys) so that was a lot of fun as well.
Hope you are all enjoying the new year and new decade so far

havingagiraffe · 03/01/2010 17:32

Hello ladies

Sounds like you all had nice new year & Christmas celebrations Mama as usual yours sounds particularly good, although the teething and cold is not so good, hope C is feeling better. Penguin hope you are all better and how great to be appreciated. DP mentioned to me after looking after N for the afternoon that he has an insight into my day and is impressed. I'm so glad he came to that conclusion on his own.

Am on night duty alone for the next few nights as DP needs some good sleep as he as a job interview on Weds for a Dep Head job - eek

Panda Are you well? Down from the cloud yet?

So, any NY resolutions? Mine are 1} to bitch about my family less and 2} to expand my slowly deteriorating brain (not sure how but I guess some books will be involved!)

More leftovers for dinner and then Poirot (if pickle goes to sleep properly) We've started a bedtime story to calm him before sleep and he's now very into book - he picks them up and babbles like he thinks he's reading - or doing and impression of me.

Meeeow · 03/01/2010 17:49

soooo glad i popped in now!!! what fantastic news panda!!!!!
sorry I've been so rubbish and haven@t been on in a very long time, this will only be a quick visit too as I have a very demanding 5 month old shouting at her daddy downstairs; qick news from us; started giving a little b rice and fruit/veg, still bf but started period today!! grrr my sis and mum avoided it for as long as they bf! 'I' is still waking in night to feed and still in with us. ttfn! Happy New Year!!!

havingagiraffe · 04/01/2010 11:18

It's so cold here my face hurt when I took N for a walk - brrrrrr

Meeow Sounds like I is keeping you on your toes! I guess you're getting used to being home alone again today as am I and Hyena. Nice to get back to normal but then I'm sure I'll miss DP once N is awake and ready to play!

Hippo Good luck back at work this week. It would've been a bit to go back from maternity leave pregnant! Hope you and E survive OK and it's not too traumatic (for you of course, I'm sure he'll be fine)

hippopotamum · 04/01/2010 11:54

impala that is a lovely tradition, pity your DH hasn't carried it on.

mamafox I am going back 3 days so not too bad. I just can't imagine Xmas in the sun. I was on Oz in Nov one year and it was surreal seeing all of the santa and decorations while it was sunny !

meeow, hello and hurray for solids

well news here is that spotting has completely stopped and no AF... eeek !
