Hyena · 15/11/2009 13:49

We've decided - we're going with Joseph Evan.

We managed a bit more sleep last night. He cried until 2 but then went from 2.10 to 4.20 and 5 til 7.30. That's almost 5 hours sleep in one night - I feel so much better.

Hippo Glad you had a good break. Is E happy with finger foods? I'd give as much finger food as poss (less mess) and when you have to use the spoon, have one each and let yours do most of the work . Def get a messy mat to put under his high chair. L went through a stage of chucking her plate on the floor as soon as I put it on her highchair - it used to thrill me after standing and cooking for half an hour .

havingagiraffe · 15/11/2009 14:51

Hyena Ahhh that is lovely. I knew you would get your way. Did you just keep calling him Joseph in order to wear DP down? Is it going to be Joseph or Joe? We had Joe on our list but I have to confess I loved Gethin for a lovely welsh boy.

Hippo Very when long posts are lost. I'm impressed you even tried to recreate as I am usually too annoyed. Holiday sounds great and I cannot believe that E is nearly 1! eek.
We are doing BLW so have no real idea how much N is getting but he seems happy enough and apparently when they need the nutrition from food their eating becomes more purposeful so you may find that DS takes to feeding himself quickly, if somewhat messily

I expressed enough milk to be able to have the whole night off last night and slept in the attic room - bliss! DP has also taken DS out this afternoon, again armed with EBM, so I am currently wondering what to do next, probably end up putting a film on, eating crumpets and drinking tea, actually that sounds like bliss so I'm off.

Meeeow · 16/11/2009 07:31

hippo thanks for that info, very helpful! Glad yu had a good hol, sounds lovely

hyena cute name! I don't teach any horrid Josephs so that's's a good sign! [Grin] he'll be a dream I'm sure.

Well 'I's baptism went really. Well! She was soooo good even though nap times got interrupted! Every time the priest said something and looked our way she giggled at him! Had a bit of a scare when wobbly Great Grandad nearly dropped her! And spent 1 hour laying in DH's arms staring at him then sleeping!! Huge turning point for these two! I was welling up!

Well I've given in and now want a posh change bag! DH's idea actually! He asked if there are anu ways to get the Lyn and Leo (that right?) Cheaper? Vouchers etc? I seem to remember some talk on here of such an offer back in the summer??

Meeow So glad you had a lovely day, sounds like I charmed everyone. Did you manage to get something to wear? My DP also suggested a nice changing bag a couple of months ago, they must feel sorry for us walking around without a handbag. I think the girls used e-bay, but of course Fruity's your girl, she always gets the best bargains!!

It is horrible and rainy today, we have swimming and then tons of errands to run. How dull.

Turkelton · 16/11/2009 09:06

In the throw's of house moving and no tinterweb, using dh phone, just had to pop in and congratulate hyena! Well done! Can't believe you are next penguin how are you feeling?

Meeeow · 16/11/2009 11:03

giraffe yeah fruity is my next port of call lol

Hyena · 16/11/2009 19:27

Hi ladies,

Just a quickie from me. All fine here. J was weighed again today (why do they bother so quickly?) and he's putting weight on after losing a little. He's feeding like a trooper and slept for a couple of hours straight last night. WOOHOO!

Will catch up tomorrow when DD is at school xx

PenguinPoo · 17/11/2009 11:21

Hyena Hope you are making the most of today as L is at school and having a lazy one
Mamafox & Wolverine Lovely to see you both
Impala How is E now? Is she all cleared up?
Giraffe Love the idea of N having a pj party with his little friend Sounds like you are getting some really good quality "me" time, good on you x
Hippo Thanks for your strictly comments I really don't mind what kind of birth I have (obviously the least painful is best ) Have you handed over that spoon yet I think when you do it will be time for some more FB pictures of E's gorgeous food covered face!
Meeeow Is I sleeping any better yet? Glad the baptism went well
Fruity You OK?
Turkleton Moving with two new babies, phew rather you than me! Hope all goes well

First official day of maternity leave today, unfortunately no lie in as I had to go to physio, but intend to be lazy for the rest of the week day. It really hit me yesterday that 3 weeks tomorrow at the latest we will actually have a baby, I am now freaking out at that, still no nursery, no clue and no hospital bag, but I do have a parent craft class tonight, DH is away so I have to take my Mum Been feeling very lonely without him especially as I can't get my boots on and off without him

PenguinPoo · 18/11/2009 09:18

I know when I say this that I'm going to get comments like "just you wait" "you'll wish you had this time again" etc etc but I am so BORED! It's horrible weather, I'm feeling unsociable so don't want to visit any friends and I can't do much around the house. Fed up of pain, crutches, tv, sitting, reading, playing on DS etc.
Oh finally got to go to a parent craft class last night, but it was 2 hours of what to do when you are in labour I suppose it will be handy if a miracle happens and placenta moves at next scan, or I stupidly decide to have another baby, but 2 hrs sat on a hard chair with some wierd people in the hottest room in the world was not my idea of fun! I think I'm so arsey as DH is away at the moment, so I feel a bit lonely and abandoned, usually I love having time to myself, so just tell me to stop whinging!
Help!

mamafox · 18/11/2009 11:34

Lovely name choice Hyena
I'm sure everyone is telling you to enjoy your time off Penguin, but when you've had enough, you've had enough December babies are special though, dd2 was extra clever and arrived on 25/12......
which is why she is having her party on the last Sat in November. We going to keep the last weekend in Nov each time she has a party so it's separate to Xmas and Dec and school won't have broken up, when she's older.
Speaking of, can't believe how slack people are, we've invited at least 10 children from her nursery to her party, the rsvp date is tomorrow and only 3 have got back to me so far My phone had better be running hot tomorrow
What's with the biscuit face? I don't get it......
And while you guys are floating away with all your rain, we are sweltering here, 35deg on Tues, 30 today and at least 30deg until early next week. My small boy is so sweaty, he's sleeping during the day in only a nappy, and I've stopped using his sleeping bag at night this week. He's such a boy though, I get the biggest smile when I take his nappy off each time, the legs kick & he's just thrilled to be a nudie, as my girls call it

Meeeow · 18/11/2009 13:16

penguin I completetly understand!! No clever comments from me, the last few weeks are pants. I had heat to deal with so couldn't go out, you have rain, same problem. Just fix your sights on the end day and keep reorganising the nursery, colour code the clothes etc

havingagiraffe · 18/11/2009 17:30

Hope you've finally had some replies Mamafox. We have had the same problem with N's Baptism - grrrr!

penguin Poor you, I remember being grumpy as anything towards the end and knowing that I should make the most of it but just being fed up. Moaned about it on here and the lovely ladies told me to do some nice stuff - bath, read, DVD and it worked! Hope you feel better soon.

Hyena · 18/11/2009 19:16

Penguin Enjoy it! Magazines, chocolates, Jeremy Vile Kyle, ssssslllleeeeeppppppp. When is C back?
Manafox Am of your sunshine as always. We have so many trees on our street and our road is yellow and wet with leaves-yuk! It's so annoying when people don't RSVP. Over half of the kids who came to L's party didn't let us know they were coming. Makes organising food, drinks, party bags and such a nightmare!
Turk How are things with you and your girls? Hope all is well.
Meeeow Glad everything went well at the weekend. I think I had 10% off my Lin and Leo at Blooming Marv. Search in google and you should find a discount code.
Giraffe I'm already calling him Joe so I'm sure it'll stick. Glad you managing to find some time to yourself.

Things fine here. I can't believe he's a week old already. I feel great minus the tiredness and a very sore right nipple. There's obviously something not quite right with J's latch but I'm sure it'll settle when I stop being so lazy with the way I'm sitting when I feed him. Last night he was awake from 4pm until 2am and then managed 2-330am and 4-8. The last part of the night was total bliss .

Meeeow · 18/11/2009 20:42

hyena I will not be complaining about I at night again! That sounds hard! Bet he's worth it though eh?!

giraffe I eneded up buying a dress from Next, worn it since too, I will get my money's worth, pay is down to SMP only now!

mamafox · 19/11/2009 11:40

Yay, had some rsvp's so am feeling better about it all now, was starting to worry a bit for dd2 that no one would turn up Will be happy if no one else replies
Had the concreting done outside today as well, extended the patio area by 2metres and along the width of the house, at the back. Eventually we'll extend the roof so it's all covered, will be a larger shaded place for the dc to play in summer and for the parents to entertain
Also managed to scan 63 photos for the powerpoint photo collation I'm putting together for dh's 40th next month. He doesn't know about it so arranged with a friend of ours to use their scanner today, but had to do this on a day I don't have dd2 with me, as she is like the town crier in announcing the day's events....... Will need to finish off the scanning next week, won't be using all the pics but wanted a good selection to work from when I start putting it together.
& it was so humid here today, after all this running around I so enjoyed my ice cold Magners cider earlier this evening

hippopotamum · 19/11/2009 14:35

mamafox at Magners and sunshine ! LOL at 'town crier' comment !!

Hyena get that latch sorted before it becomes a real problem - your mention of sore nipple made me wince at the memory ! Sounds like Joe is doing great - LOVE the name, great taste !

Penguin you really ought to enjoy the peace abd quiet while you can. Read trashy novels and mags, watch a good film, take a bubble bath and light some candles. I remember a friend advising me to jump n the car every day and do anything atall (go to shops, drive to get some chocolate) as you don't appreciate your freedom until it is too late and you have to load a baby, a change bag anf various other gubbins into the car too - pain in the bum !

Thanks for feeding advice. He takes finger food well although a lot of it ends up squished into the highchair or floor - which is fine. I handed over a bowl or porridge yesterday and after initially playing with it, he launched it across the kitchen - quel surpris ! I only handed it over when 75% was eaten to ensure he actually ate something !

Where is Fruity and what about Nemo and Panda ?? Hello ladies, if you are lurking.

hippopotamum · 19/11/2009 14:35

Oh and I think you get 15% off blooking marvellous by being a member on here - check out their discount codes.

xx ei xx

Fruitbatlings · 19/11/2009 18:52

I'm here too
Keep popping in from time to time but got nothing constructive to say my end as I've been in a foul mood for the last 3/4 weeks.

Hopefully will snap out of it soon.

Hyena little J is so absolutely gorgeous - and I don't say that lightly either as newborns are generally quite odd looking!

Hyena · 19/11/2009 19:43

I'm here three.
I'm having half a glass of wine - I haven't really felt like drinking but DP threw it at me .
Fruit You still having a hard time with the lodger? If you need to chat then you know where I am. x
Panda All work and no play.....How long until the clomid starts?
Hippo Have been less lazy on the latch today. He's feeding r the right is the left - totally pain free and the right is beginning to improve. I'm going to have a peek for a 15% off BM - there's some things I want to buy L for Christmas.

Things fine here. We managed two hours between feeds last night and am really hoping that tonight follows suit. Decided to weigh myself before. I'm 2lb away from pre-pregnancy weight. Took me bloody ages to slim down after L and this time I obviously haven't taken advantage enough and eaten enough cake !

PandaEis · 19/11/2009 20:07

hey hyena and fruity
fruity sorry the H is still bugging you (if that is the reason for the foul mood) hope you and the boys are ok
hyena good to see that J is feeding well and of your speedy weightloss

xx ei xx

havingagiraffe · 20/11/2009 09:06

Fruity Was only thinking of you the other day and assumed because you hadn't been on, things were still not great. Hope you are OK and we miss you.

Hyena Do not worry on the cake front. As far as I am concerned it is a daily requirement when breast feeding, so you haven't missed your opportunity. Glass of wine will do you the world of good (and get you REALLY drunk ), makes you feel normal I think. Glad that the feeding is going better and he's getting the hang of it. The first few days are a bit painful I think. Keep the Lanisoh to hand. More sleep too - lovely!

We are still living with the boy who thinks sleep is for wimps, although the last couple of nights a slight improvement. Trying to settle him sometimes without a feed as hoping he will then stop waking every 2 bloody hours.

Christening tomorrow, really looking forward to it, in that "God I hope we've done everything way".

Fruitbatlings · 20/11/2009 12:36

Thanks for your sympathies girls I have so many issues at the moment I've lost count! I'm hoping I'll just get over it all, although DL is my main one so not sure how I'll get over that Probably in serious need of councilling but it's time and money isn't it.
Going to a party on Sat night with him and the boys, although not feeling up to it right now, maybe it'll give me a kick up the back side

CaptainNemo · 20/11/2009 14:32

Helo lovely ladies, am currently watching my friend's little boy so may be a short post if she back or he wakes!
