help me - i need a motivational kick up the back side. DS is 1, have been using cloth pretty much all the time then suddenly stopped about a month ago, and haven't started again. Not sure why, just didn't get round to it.
Inspire me to start again. DS was going through a very difficult changing stage - like trying to pin a nappy on roving jelly, and was also growing out of clothes so nothing was fitting properly over cloth, plus was suddenly getting a few leaks. But none of that has ever stopped me before.
So tell me to stop being a numptie and get his bum back in cloth.
Oh and i tried a Bambo eco-disp and it was rubbish, leaked within an hour or so.

LackaDAISYcal · 02/10/2008 10:32

hi sophus...consider your backside metaphorically kicked. fluffy bums are lovely

I'm actually being a hypocrite as we have stopped cloth for the minute due to nasty skin problems which are slowly clearing up and DDs bum is pink and bum coloured for the first time in a year!

but, we have been using the bambo nature dispos to great effect......she had one on for 15 hours the other night (long story involving very early bedtime coupled with running late for school so no time to change her) and it held up fantastically well....not a single leak.

EnchantedWithEdwardCullen · 02/10/2008 11:45

Ooooh think I just got a bargain

17 rainbow tots bots in size one and 7 wraps, £37!

Inc p&p it works out at £1.70 per nappy or wrap!

Enchanted sounds good! Did you get my email reply?

lollipopmother · 02/10/2008 13:21

Seventeen??! I'd definitely say that was a bargain!

Sunflower Elizabeth seems to be getting worse . She cries during and/or after just about every feed now, still does the back arching and also screams from about 7pm to gone 10pm every night. She threw up again last night and there was just so much of it again, the puddle was the size of two of my hands, and she was absolutely covered in it, i saw some come out of her nose! She is so gorgeous and I just hate knowing she is in pain but not knowing how to help her.

lollipopmother · 02/10/2008 13:24

I can't see the 10% off thing . I can see the Boden offer .....

Ceolas · 02/10/2008 13:57

Lollipop if you can't see the ad, the code is MNET08

LackaDAISYcal · 02/10/2008 13:57

lollipop; sounds like classic colic , and not sure there is a lot you can do. It might pass quickly, or you might be stuck with it until around three months (not what you want to hear I'm sure ). Lots of people I know of have sworn by cranial osteopathy, and you can do some baby massage moves to help alleviate it. White noise is apparently also helpful; ie sitting baby in front of an untuned radio or TV, or the tumble drier. I'm sure you can buy CDs of shite noise as well now.

Also try some over the counter preps like infacol or dentinox; although there are mixed reviews on these whether they actually work or not but we had success with infacol.

Do a search on here for threads about colic or start a new thread; you will get lots of advice and support I'm sure.

Fad bargain on the tots nappies EwEC

LackaDAISYcal · 02/10/2008 13:59

It might also be gastric reflux...have a word with your HV or GP. They can give you infant gaviscon which you give after a feed via a syringe.

LackaDAISYcal · 02/10/2008 13:59

oh, PMSL.....that's CDs of white noise, not shite

Ceolas · 02/10/2008 14:02

trying not to think about a CD of shite noise...

Can I have your pink baby beehind please daisy? Think I still have your pp address.

LackaDAISYcal · 02/10/2008 14:03

course you can lovely. Can't interest you in another fuzzibunz can I? 'tis pink and gorgeous

MatNanPlus · 02/10/2008 14:04

BBM what is LO's head measurement? this with the weight will help work out where LO is meant to be on the chart, some babies do slide down to their 'natural' line after a few weeks.

Enchanted that is amazing value.

Lollipop what is the GP doing?

Acid reducers, milk thickeners?

Ceolas · 02/10/2008 14:17

I am tempted, but the one we have isn't a great fit. I think she needs to grow a bit yet

or maybe just fatten up her thighs!

LackaDAISYcal · 02/10/2008 14:26

skinny thighs never a problem my DD had......just like her mum

Ceolas · 02/10/2008 14:30

Ha! Wish I had the same problem!

I have about 20 size 2 nappies here of about 15 different brands! Indecisive, moi?

EnchantedWithEdwardCullen · 02/10/2008 14:32

I think so too!

And i just got 3 brand new wraps, one pink gingham, one lime gingham and one leopard print for £12 posted.

Have to stop now though

i have enough!

lollipopmother · 02/10/2008 15:47

Lacka - I think it must be colic too, I have toyed with the idea of reflux because she does seem to have some of the symptoms, but I think it's colic. I am going to give her another week and if she's throwing up more then I will take her to the doctor, but I don't want to go just for him to tell me I'm being PFBish and she's just got a tummy ache.

Matnan - I haven't taken her to the doc yet, I thought I should give it another week just to make sure that I'm not overreacting, if I think it's reflux next week then I'll definitely take her, but apparently reflux babies throw up after every feed, and she isn't doing that yet, so I think maybe she just has horrible colic and I don't want to be laughed out of the surgery.

Ceolas - Thanks for the code, but what is the site I need to go on to use it?

Ceolas · 02/10/2008 16:13

Modern Baby for the pop-ins

LackaDAISYcal · 02/10/2008 16:32

and they say re-useables are cheaper

Mind you at least you can sell on the ones you find don't suit or you don't use

you have an eye for a bargain EwEC!

sunflower78 · 02/10/2008 18:16

lollipop - we're keeping you company, having a nightmare with Maia about same times - 6.30-9.30pm, fine during the day and after that, but otherwise she's attached to breast pretty much most of that time or crying... doesn't seem as bad as DS was though (as I said, driving in car was the only way to settle him), but very frustrating and emotionally exhausting when there's a 4yo to get ready for bed for school the next day.... but hopefully it'll pass quickly...

tried using muslins today with nippa & xs airflow, and quite impressed with myself as I thought couldn't get on with folds (ran out of reusables and couldnt get fluffle to fit in smaller clothes, so will try it tonight on bigger babygrow)...

Essie3 · 02/10/2008 18:45

Profile now has a photo of my little DS in his pop-in.
Pistachio, Daisy, rather than my favourite custard! Will add another later on when he's a bit more co-operative.

LackaDAISYcal · 02/10/2008 19:19

He is a real cutie Essie

MatNanPlus · 02/10/2008 19:24

Lollipop are the sickie times at set times of the day??

AnnVan · 02/10/2008 20:18

Helooo! Sebastian's so big I've had to put him in 0-3 month clothes!! I've put a pic on my profile.
Not too impressed with my bamboo nappies - I was putting a frsh one on and he wee'd right through it! a little wee fountain came up through tha cloth and got my fingers as I was doing the nippa. the teddies are fab though.
