Just for fun, curiosity and some inspiration!

My almost 2 year old is a pretty picky eater so feel free share any good picky eating ideas or tips too.

Today was a pretty good day. He had:

B: Cheerios x2 bowls
S: Banana & carrot porridge muffin
L: Cheese sandwich with 1 slice of bread, crisps, cucumber batons & half a banana
S: Apple (ate some of it) & milk
D: Eggy bread & baked beans, strawberries
S: Flapjack bites

I should’ve said he was also served some chicken & vegetable stir fry on the side of his dinner but it was refused!

2.5 yo DD

2 x wheatabix for breakfast
Lunch was baked bean and cheese fritters with sliced cucumber and tomatoes (didn’t eat the tomatoes)
dinner was beef casserole with veg (carrots, sweetcorn, peas and beans) and mash.
Snacks throughout the day were yoghurts, biscuits, crisps etc.

Need to improve snacks, got a bit slack with a newborn and end up throwing a packet of crisps at her to keep her happy!

My youngest is also almost 2 (next month), and I find these threads so interesting - so thanks, OP!

This was today (he ate most of everything):
B1 - Kids kefir yoghurt drink and blueberries
B2 - Porridge with almond butter, flaxseeds and raspberry chia jam
S - Pom bears and an apple (apple will no longer be eaten sliced, only whole apparently)
L - Scrambled eggs, toast with butter, strawberries and grapes
S - Mr whip ice cream (his first one! The ice cream man stopped on our street for the first time this year so we had to!)
D - Chicken and chickpea korma, rice cooked in chicken broth with spinach mixed through, Greek yoghurt.
S - Banana with cashew butter and honey and milk

But this was yesterday:
B1 - kids kefir yoghurt drink (refused) and strawberries (refused)
B2 - 2 Boiled eggs and toast soldiers (2 slices) (devoured), avocado slices (ignored) and banana (smushed but not eaten)
S - breadsticks, carrot batons and hummus (ignored hummus and carrots)
L - Chicken egg fried rice with peas and peppers (ate one spoonful, then was done)
S - Orange and oat bar (ate oat bar)
D - Spaghetti bolognese (played with it, ate some spaghetti that hadn't touched the sauce, generally screamed about it - normally loves it!)

2.5 year old chronic vegetable dodger.

Peanut butter on toast, grapes and strawberries for breakfast
250ml Alpro Soy Growing Up Drink (mild cows milk protein allergy - tolerates most cooked dairy now but not uncooked milk)
Chicken tikka masala with rice, some cheese crackers and raspberries for lunch.
About 2 bites of chicken Kyiv for dinner. Tossed her peas and potatoes on the floor.
She also told me her Nan gave her a chocolate coin when I was at work, so that too.

Not as healthy as I would ideally like, but she's picky (just normal toddler picky) so we do the best we can.

LaFidola · 19/04/2024 23:14

Mine is 3 but he ate today:

Cup of milk, 2 celebrations chocolates

Porridge with raspberries

Banana

Baguette slices, cheese, skips.

Yoghurt covered dried strawberries, nougat filled wafer. Blueberries.

Pizza (as its Friday!) Was supposed to have corn on the cob too but it had gone off. Mini magnum (normally yoghurt but ice cream is a Friday treat).

Tea is usually mixed veg with meat or fish and mash/sweet potato/waffles etc.

He suddenly keeps telling me he is hungry so I've stocked up on fruit and blueberry pancakes for the weekend for snacks and will bake muffins or flapjacks.

He eats like a horse but is big and tall for his age. He doesn't like rice or pasta so potato in some form is usually his evening carb. I play to his strengths as he needs filling up!

B: big bowl of porridge with chopped up pear. Demanded a second glass of milk (but said please, on prompting)

L: half slice of toast, "crisps" (special K) and mixed fruit, a banana, homemade fairy cake, rice cracker with soft cheese. Think he also begged half of Daddy's apple!

S: 1/8th of a melon

D: a deconstructed fajita (ate the wrap and then was too full for the beef, but refused to quit because he wanted dessert), and some Greek yogurt. The fajita beef contained red and green lentils, plus grated carrots in pasata (made from scratch - we all don't get on with bought sauces)

Reading this over he seems to eat incredibly healthily! He does get chocolate and biscuits sometimes
