I have had enough of the bitches on this site. I know there are plenty of nice, genuine mumsnetters too but too many bitches. I am ending my membership.

no no no noooo, i don't have a problem with your name At All, you do... it's just not very memorable, do you see? so if you want to be noticed then you have to be noticeable. i was only responding to the fact that you said you felt stepped over, that's all.
and where i come from no-one says Haitch, so it's something i've never come across until coming here where people asked me if i feel strongly about pronouncing it aitch and that was the reason for my name. which it isn't, it's just my initial is all. i don't think it's memorable or a particularly good name, but i run a website as well so i'm a bit stuck with it (or variations thereof) cos otherwise it would be very confusing.

I can't help thinking this has become a rather Bigger Thing than i intended...

sarahgg · 09/09/2007 01:34

wanna go to bed, but love a good argument, sorry, conversation! You said you run a web site, is it a business? Would love to go head to head again some time. It was fun, wasn't it? I plan to stick with the name, sometimes it's good to have a low profile . Hope to lock horns with you again soon. LOL.

Aitch · 09/09/2007 01:35

but i haven't been arguing or locking horns, seriously. seriously seriously. [baffled]
it's not a business, no, in fact it costs me money, tbh. but i like doing it so i don't mind.

Thought might change my name to 'sarahaitch' (actually my initials!)

Aitch · 09/09/2007 01:43

awd, i seem to have pissed you off, sarah. i assure you that really wasn't my intention.

sarahgg · 09/09/2007 01:48

Takes a bit more than a conversation to piss me off! No really, I like your honesty. I bear no ill will, and trust you are the same. At least I'm not being ignored .
I am just getting used to the site and think its great, slowly becoming an addiction to me, especially as DH works away so much, and not always possible to have a real social life!

Aitch · 09/09/2007 01:52

good, see you around then. am off to bed.

Aitch · 09/09/2007 01:53

and PMSL at 'slowly becoming an addiction'. took about a day and a half for me.

sarahgg · 09/09/2007 01:55

good night aitch

ursaferrugineusa · 09/09/2007 02:07

The funny thing is, aitch, that i actually thought adamadamum's name was really Good and Memorable (to quote 1066 and all that) - maybe because my DH is a massive Adam Adamant fan.
Maybe you're just too young to remember Adam Adamant....

Aitch · 09/09/2007 02:11

i am definitely too young to remember adam adamant. was he like Jason King? i do remember adam ant, if that's any use. so you reckon adamadamum and adam adamant are related, then? some capitalisation might sort that out. AdamAdamum? i am now reading the middle as ayda, though, like the old ladies' name. hmmmm. tricky one.

Aitch · 09/09/2007 02:12

are you rustybear btw? how bloomin' old are you?

cornsilk · 09/09/2007 02:12

dO YOU MEAN aDAM aNT?

Aitch · 09/09/2007 02:13

definitely goodnight this time.

OberonKenobi · 09/09/2007 02:14

who is adam adamant?

vixma · 09/09/2007 02:17

Has someone offended you? This wesite contains alotof views and opinions and worries of parents, what is it that you have experienced that is so bitchy?.

RustyBear · 09/09/2007 02:17

Adam AdamantLives! was a 60s Avengers-type TV show - created by the same team as Dr Who Adam was a Victorian upperclass gentleman, pillar of Victoriam morality who was frozen & thawed out in the swinging 60s & ended up solving crimes. Starred Gerald Harper & Juliet Harmer. Maybe I'm wrong, but I assumed that was the origin of the name, so it's always read that way to me.

RustyBear · 09/09/2007 02:18

And yes I am RustyBear - I changed for the latin names thread and like Cinderella I have reverted after midnight.
I am 51 btw....

OberonKenobi · 09/09/2007 02:20

Ah! A forerunner to Austin Powers!

sarahgg · 09/09/2007 02:21

what's in a name anyway? How about a bit of support for adamadamum. Sounds like she needs it. I don't have any advice but maybe some one out there can find something to say that might make her feel welcome.

RustyBear · 09/09/2007 02:22

Oh yes, Austin was a total rip-off as far as the initial plot idea was concerned. Not a lot of resemblance after that however......
