fencing wavers between Extraordinarily Poncey and Not Poncey At All

lexan masks and foam sabres = not poncey
two years of stick before they let you pick up a weapon = poncey

At least it's indoors in the dry . No muddy kit either.

PestoMonster · 02/07/2007 13:18

They do a Morris Dancing club at my dds' school. However, neither of my dds wanted to do it. DD2, who is teeeny, chose to basketball club instead. Lol.

Clary · 02/07/2007 13:30

Yes DD's dance teachers called Miss Emily, Miss Heather etc.

Did show last week and it was ponce heaven. I lurrrve it.

I did Latin and Greek speaking when I was about 14 or 15, IIRC I was an award winning Latin speaker (Catullus I think)

Very poncey school. I did ancient greek A-level fgs. Boy was my dad angry.

RosaLuxembourg · 02/07/2007 13:46

Why was your Dad angry about Ancient Greek Clary? I did Latin A-level and would have loved to do Ancient Greek too but our school didn't offer it. Thinking of picking it up as part of my OU degree.

controlfreaky2 · 02/07/2007 13:54

MrsBadger · 02/07/2007 15:08

after much thought have concluded fencing

Clary · 02/07/2007 15:19

Rosa, he was angry because I didn't do maths (the other option, amazingly enough, but a bit of AO as it was then put me off!)

"You'll never get a job...nmaths much more useful than Greek...etc etc"

willow · 02/07/2007 20:32

Am loving the mother and daughter book club. Thank God I only have a son.

willow · 02/07/2007 20:32

Yeay. I've lost my 2.

hatwoman · 02/07/2007 20:34

we're not that poncey. don't do tennis or horse-riding but in between ski-ing holidays dds have had lessons at the local dry slope. how does that rate?

willow · 02/07/2007 20:35

Nowt wrong with horse riding. It's bloody dangerous. Unlike Mandarin.

Quattrocento · 02/07/2007 22:17

Oy Cod! Did you see? India Knight thought the Mandarin was the ponciest choice?

I think that means I win the prize for spotting the Ponce of the Year.
