It's more music and play on apparatus than holistic play. She's been going since she was 9 months old.

Ballet when she's 3, French when she's 4.

She's going to be in the Priory by the time she's 5, all organised activitied out.

MaccaMacca · 02/07/2007 11:23

DD1 wants to learn Latin. Am thinking of starting afterschool club for this. Poncy enough? It doesn't really trump Mandarin, does it?

Enid · 02/07/2007 11:26

they teach mandarin at dd2s prep school

not that poncy tbh no more than any other language

CodHun · 02/07/2007 11:26

no a shoddy extinct language second place.

My ds 19 months started gymnastics last week. Joined the club too.

expatinscotland · 02/07/2007 11:27

I was forced to learn Latin in school. And French.

It was a ponce school.

Later, I switched to the artsy, liberal school.

BorisofWales · 02/07/2007 11:27

I did Latin Rosa, at the Catholic school I went to. Fascinating TBH.

I know Enid, Mandarin is so last year.

scorpio1 · 02/07/2007 11:27

i too can speak 3 other modern languages, just wish i learnt Latin too, at some point.

i fancy Japenese next!

one of the mums oin the playground has been doing a lot of poetry with her daughter adn she is having a few friends round to write haikus

expatinscotland · 02/07/2007 11:28

Is ballet poncey?

Thought that was pretty mainstream.

I started at 3, although it's not really anything but play in leotards till they're a bit older.

Enid · 02/07/2007 11:28

i enjoyed latin

expatinscotland · 02/07/2007 11:29

I didn't. I thought it was ridiculous.

CodHun · 02/07/2007 11:29

WRITE HAIKUS
NO????

OP posts:
expatinscotland · 02/07/2007 11:29

I've never written a haiku.

That's not just poncey, that's naff.
