Despite the fact that my house never seems to look really clean or tidy, i am amazed at how much i have got done already today.

  • Took DS to doctors/chemists
  • Emptied dishwasher
  • Made us both lunch, then picked DS's up from the floor
  • re-filled dishwasher
  • Put washing on line
  • Washed more clothes
  • Picked up CDs and DVDs after DS (again!)
  • Picked up toys (again!)
  • Made some bottles up and not forgetting, found time to potter on the net.

No wonder the days where i go out to work seem soooooo much easier!

got them both up and dressed, took Ds to school and settled him into class.
visited Dd's playschool for a taster session.

come home. do housework- hoovering, clean bathroom, make beds, tidy toys etc etc

Drove my disabled dad into town so he could buy my mum an anniversary present.

went into teh council to start the process of applying for an emergancy statement review for DS so that we can change his school to teh SN one we really love.

popped into the Dr to get a prescription
went to teh chemist to drop teh prescription off

Collect Ds from school.

collect medicein from chemist

take dc to the park on their bikes, attempt to encourage ds to pedal teh bike rather than just run along holding it...fail.
come home and cook tea.

eat tea.

sit with Dc's whilst they do 15 mins each of some work sheets they have. actually they are only Ds's but dd loves to join in so i copy them for her to do...although there is a 4 year age gap they are developmentally the same age.

put DVD on whilst i wash up

bath time.
read story for Dd in bed.
read story for Ds in bed

go up and down teh stairs 4 times until tehy are both asleep.

do some more last minute tidying
come on Mumsnet

This morning, so far, we've

*got up and dressed (woo hoo!)
*breakfast and tidy up (!!!!)
*Swept and mopped the kitchen floor
*Set the younger two up with some colouring while
*Me and Dd1 sorted a dark wash and put it on.
*Washed a pillow and set it in the tumble dryer to dry.
*sorted out what we're having for tea
*done a rubbish run
*wiped down the cupboard and fridge fronts

Now I'm having some toast for a snack, and I'll put kettle on in a mo for a drink for me and to warm bottle for ds who is due up soon. I'll feed him while I do some reading with Dd1.

This is the best flipping day I've had for months, and it's not even 11 yet.

Peachy · 24/05/2007 10:51

filled in a dla form

As its still not 11 thats pretty inpressive

Peachy, yes my local uni does offer the conversion course although is v competitive to get a place!

then the actual ed psych training is all in london so would be an hour's commute to the city every day, and thats if i even got a place! (am also a newly single parent so the chances of all this happening are pretty much nil)

am knackered and the house still looks like an explosion site.

allgonebellyup · 24/05/2007 18:11

i do all of the above, oh yeah, and work 11 hour days. People who work also have to do several loads of washing and shopping/housework, we just have to fit it in during the evenings while you SAHMs leisurely take all day.

Gobbledigook · 24/05/2007 18:14

Ha ha! rofl!!

PeppermintStick · 24/05/2007 18:27

And?

You are better than us?
Jealous?
Deserve a pat on the back?

I am curious as to the point of the post?

ConnieDescending · 24/05/2007 18:33

Oh God, not another argument. I'm a SAHM and find this thread sadly depressing.

NoodleStroodle · 24/05/2007 18:35

Not much.
Read a whole book this morning sitting in the garden with firstly a hot chocolate and then ice cold juice.
Why should I do anything else?
I gave birth ....TWICE!

the point is: dont make out your lives are hard!!

taffy101 · 24/05/2007 20:06

Do you ever have one of those days where you have been constantly busy but nothing seems to have got done, and then do something 'high visibility' like change beds or put washing on line so dp can see that you've been really industrious?

SueBaroo · 24/05/2007 20:07

Why not? Maybe they are.

allgonebellyup · 24/05/2007 20:07

ive got severe PMT, can you tell??!!

SueBaroo · 24/05/2007 20:10

allgonebellyup, lol! yeah, me too. I fucking never fucking swear normally,

ProfYaffle · 24/05/2007 20:15

Had a lovely day today:

Leisurely breakfast/getting dressed
Baby Yoga with sulky dd1 in tow (she was bored but didn't play up, bless her)
Drive the dd's over to The Big Town for lunch with dh
Bought new play tent from Lidl
Set up play tent in garden

And that's it, no domestic chores of any kind today.

Believe me, my life is not hard never claimed it was!

lou33 · 24/05/2007 20:17

brekkie/school run as usual
dd2 forgot to make her lunch so i made it and dropped it to school with a cheque for new uniform

more food shopping, kitchen cleaning, making dinner, cleaned bathroom, did laundry, went to homebase, had a bath

lots of other tedious shite i am trying to block out
