saturday my dd was playing out front with the group when my neighbour in opposite house was coming back from the shop,my dd&her friend were standing in her way like kids do arms spread ect,she told my dd to move, when she didnt move she got her arm&shoved her out the way&my dd landed backwards in a bush,i have contacted the police&they have logged it as assault but now monday they still havnt come apparently they are "busy",iam fuming,i want to hit her but i know i will be arrested if i do,also what has upset me is i thought my friend&neighbour who dd plays with was my friend&to me loyalty is a big part of friendship but my friend has still carried on as normal, not stuck up for my dd&if it was me i would make it clear to the assaulter it is wrong to do that to a child(as i have said to her but got no response)also the problem i have now is my dd5 wants to go play out the front but i have tried explaining to her she cant until the police has been as the person may hurt her again as she obviouly thinks she"s got away with it as she has been sniggering&making gestures at me on the school run, what do i do iam so upset

badkarma · 19/10/2006 20:07

I posted earlier too, I would like to know if the police ever did take you seriously and come out to investigate the assault?
Also, it's not really fair that those who "emailed" you got to know the outcome and the rest hasn't

moljam · 19/10/2006 21:35

here here badkarma

Haven't read all this thread, and see that I'm a little out of date as the last post was 19th Oct. Had to post though. Good Lord above me, I just can't believe what I've been reading. An adult shoves a 5 year old child out of the way, hard enough for her to hit the ground. And a lot of you think that the child is to blame for playing silly games?? SHE'S 5!!!!! This other person was an adult for God's sake! What happened to being patient and tolerant? Hangingbyathread, I don't think you were wrong to call the police, it is assault, and anyway, what did you have to lose? I can totally understand your anger, and personally I would have struggled to keep my hands off her. Those of you who say resorting to violence is wrong blah blah have obviously never heard of blind rage, particularly where your kids are concerned. Tigress instinct ring any bells? For moaningpaper to say she would have been 'scared and intimidated' by a couple of small kids blocking her way - well, I don't know whether to laugh or cry. And why would misdee compare children blocking a pavement to blocking a hospital corridor? yes, I know her kids have been in and out of hospital, but so have mine, and I still don't see the relevance.

Anyway, hope it all resolved for you, hangingbyathread. I would have set the dogs on her. Oh no! I've probably started another heated debate about irresponsible dog owners and dog attacks!

To finish, I'm still reeling from the responses from some of you lot. Shame on the lot of you.

hangingbyathread · 26/10/2006 10:31

babe1 thank you very much for your words of support,i was very angry&still am,also very dissapointed that some of the posters on here agreed with what the adult did

OP posts:
ssd · 26/10/2006 10:43

totally agree with babe1.

facebovvered · 26/10/2006 10:52

Did the police ever come out hangingbyathread? What did they do? Is the neighbour behind bars now for her viscious attack on your angel? I certainly hope so. How dare the neighbour expect to get into her own yard when your dd wanted to block the pavement.. shame on your neighbour for not allowing your child to do whatever she wanted. I certainly hope the police took it as seriously as you wanted them to.

HumphreyComfrey · 26/10/2006 10:55

hanging "very dissapointed that some of the posters on here agreed with what the adult did"

please point me to the post/s that agreed with what the adult did, as I can't find any.

babe1 - "An adult shoves a 5 year old child out of the way, hard enough for her to hit the ground."

The OP states that "she got her arm&shoved her out the way&my dd landed backwards in a bush"

have I missed a later post that says the child "hit the ground?"

alexsCURSEDMUMMY · 26/10/2006 10:58

this isn't still going on??

LET IT LIE ( said in vic reeves voice)

mazzarella · 26/10/2006 11:01

We all still want to know if the police ever othered to come round? was she arrested?

lulumama · 26/10/2006 11:02

still waiting to find out how this was resolved......ok "- well, any 28 year old who shoves a child out of the way in response to a childish game is bang out of order. "- part of my first post

no-one on here said the adult was correct

a few posters objected to being told to get a life or being told they should be ashamed of themselves.......for disagreeing with calling the police or suggesting the child should not have been blocking the way...

AND , i would like to know if the police visited and what happened.....especially if she was charged....

HBAT- there was a lot of support here.....just not unconditional and in total agreement with you.....that's life...

facebovvered · 26/10/2006 11:02

Does anyone seriously think she was arrested? Or even that the police came out? No.... they have other, "more important" things to do, poor hbat

alexsCURSEDMUMMY · 26/10/2006 11:04

yes she did, and she is now serving a life sentence in holloway prison, where she regularly attacked by the other prisoners who hate people who commit crimes against children.
the op's daughter is having counselling and is gradually starting to rebuild her life.

lulumama · 26/10/2006 11:05
