Ever-I find early starts a killer too. Arrgh!

I managed a little run last night too and felt a million times better for it.

Striped- I also get anxiety and go through phases where it is worse/ better. Is there something in particular that is making you anxious? At the moment I have tons going on (2 tiny children + moving house + redundancy) and have decided that I am just going to go with the flow and not worry to much about any of it or I will go mad!

Stripedmum · 02/06/2013 10:12

When your DHs/DPs are off does the exhaustion kind of catch up with you?

DH is off today and my God! A sleep in which was very much required - although still have to endure hourly deliveries of DD to feed.

Offcolour · 04/06/2013 06:07

I now find everything much easier when dh is off, with another person to help it's all fairly manageable, but my ds is almost 6 months now.

Ds is sleeping better but getting up earlier and staying up! Guess I'll have accept 6am starts are the norm soon! I remember dd doing the same, she used to go back to sleep then stopped and it almost broke me! He's waking dd up and she's really tired poor thing.

crazy is your ds still getting up at 4am?

Hey ladies just checking in from sunny Cornwall, I take everything back about saying I'm going abroad from now on. Cornwall (when it's sunny) kicks ass!!!! Both kids have slept fine thank god and no major disasters so all good. Hope you all having a good week???

crazypaving · 05/06/2013 12:26

hi all, I'm abroad on holiday. lovely place and weather but ds2's sleep is crap. unsettled all night, up for the day anytime from 3.30am, daytime naps gone to pot. not sure if it's the new environment or some developmental leap. I'm knackered and really pissed off because we could be having a lovely holiday, but I'm so far beyond tired I just feel like I'm in a black pit. and I'm struggling to be patient with ds2 because I feel like it's his fault.

I just need some fucking sleep.

debbie1412 · 06/06/2013 17:52

Crazy we are the other way dd sleeping fine at night struggling to nap in the day making any sort of outing a nightmare. If your tired just fucking SLEEP. I actually shouted this in a diner today.

crazypaving · 07/06/2013 11:26

Debbie this is why babies are so annoying Angry sleep is such a huge issue!

sunny weather is helping but seriously. I need some sleep.

debbie1412 · 07/06/2013 18:50

That's another annoyance we've had sunshine all wk but with a baby it's not the same because they have to be kept out of it. Which means I have to be. X

Offcolour · 07/06/2013 19:49

This is why we've got a week's staycation at home then a week at my dad's (which is admittedly in a beautiful place).

Hope you enjoy the rest of your hols guys Smile.

debbie1412 · 07/06/2013 22:00

Home tomoz, had a great time but I need a rest. How ironic !!

crazypaving · 08/06/2013 12:47

Home tomorrow for me too. sad but relieved at the same time. God I'm tired! going away again at the end of August. hope ds2 will magically be sleeping better by then!

Offcolour · 11/06/2013 09:48

Did you get back ok guys? How's it going being home?

We're mostly good, I seem to have turned a corner mentally and am feeling more relaxed and positive generally. Coping much better with dd and she's behaving so much better. Ds sleeping still hit and miss, I think I might have to break the feed

Offcolour · 11/06/2013 09:50

Oops..... Break the feeding and sleeping connection soon. Did it with dd fairly painlessly and she was much, much worse.

Anyway, hope the week goes well for all Smile

debbie1412 · 11/06/2013 15:23

Hey, yh got home fine washed and ironed pretty much all of sun/mon back into normal mundane life, feels like it was a distant memory. How you doing??

debbie1412 · 11/06/2013 15:24

Oh and baby decided to start fussing through the night again. Hello exhaustion def havnt missed you !

crazypaving · 11/06/2013 18:02

hi! happy and sad to be back. ds2's sleep is still utterly awful and I'm shattered. dh has retreated to the spare room and emerged this morning saying 'finally, I haven't slept that long in ages'
Angry
Angry
Angry
Angry
Angry
so that'd be about a week then, dh. try 3.5 YEARS. aaaaaaagghhhh.

still, it's been sort of nice to get back into routine and I'm coping ok too, like offcolour. waiting for some spanner in the works - surely it can't last.

pessimist, moi?! Wink

debbie1412 · 11/06/2013 20:31

Dd is turning into a daddy's girl, my son is already a daddy's boy. Should I just go chuck myself of a cliff now????

Offcolour · 12/06/2013 08:03

Ha ha after my optimism I'm feeling a bit crazy today. Very little sleep and dh is away tonight and tomorrow. Am looking after my friend's dd this afternoon which I could do without but didn't feel I could say no. Dd woke up in a bad mood then woke up me and ds by bashing her doll off the door. I've shouted already today, but am feeling more human now I've had breakfast.

Crazy, that's really annoying of your dh. My dh is in the spare room all the time at the moment. Do you know what's causing your ds2's bad sleeping, would you consider sleep training of any description? We did gradual retreat with dd and it worked really well and there were few tears. She would only feed to sleep and was up every 1.5 hrs or so.

Offcolour · 12/06/2013 14:52

Looking after 3 under 3 this afternoon! Luckily the littlest troublemaker is asleep. Have lit a scented candle because my house stinks of poos.

crazypaving · 12/06/2013 16:52

oh God give me strength. ds2 had a 20 sodding minute nap at lunch instead of his usual min 60 mins. as a result he is being IMPOSSIBLE. I can't give him the opportunity to sleep as there just isn't time and he has cried solidly for an hour. I am going to lose it in a minute and chuck him out the door.

debbie1412 · 12/06/2013 17:14

Off scented candles lol, I've never thought of that. Top tip x

crazypaving · 12/06/2013 17:29

days like today remind me I haven't got it figured out at all and I'm an appalling parent.
Sad

Offcolour · 12/06/2013 17:43

Crazy, you're not an appalling parent, you've had an appalling day. Ds sleeping for 20 mins instead of 60 is totally out of your control. Deep breaths, find somewhere on your own, take a minute to regroup. You can do it, not long now till bed time. T

Offcolour · 12/06/2013 17:46

Debbie, it's totally mortifying when visitors are coming and your house literally stinks of shit. I've got some fancy candles that I never use and decided one day that I would not save them for special occasions that never happen and just enjoy them! Especially when my house stinks of shit, which is depressingly often.

crazypaving · 12/06/2013 17:52

thanks offcolour. I really really need some sleep and a break. I just don't want to see children or hear whinging for 24hrs.
