Diolch cardibach for the idea!

I'm just getting started as a learner so that's my limit in Welsh so far!

This is where we can chat, use our Welsh as we are learning and give each other help/ advice/ encouragement, etc. Smile

Blush er, it means 'give me strength' but best not to use it in front of your welsh teacher or your DCs for that matter! I name changed to this the other day when I was wound up by the thread on welsh being a dead language & learning it was a waste of time

Ma(e) isho(eisiau) ffwcin (sure you can work that one out!) gras

literally translated it's sort of 'One needs f'ing grace' but it's our phrase for Give me strength. So you could say 'Ma' isho gras' which would cut out the swear word. Not sure where you live though, I think it's a North Walian phrase.

O mam bach mae'n bwrw eira'n ofnadwy yn fan hyn rwan
test Roughly - Jesus it's snowing loads here now

alexpolismum · 11/03/2013 09:41

mam bach must be something like mamma mia in Italian.

Diolch, mais! I got the mae isho has soon as you said it was "give me strength" and I realised it wasn't hoff.

No point worrying about where I live Grin I'm not even in Wales!

(I'm not following you around this morning, honest! Grin)

alexpolismum · 11/03/2013 12:28

I have "gog blood" too, eatyourveg. My father was from Prestatyn.
