Ciao tutte!!

OP posts:
Francagoestohollywood · 11/02/2010 19:53

Thanks my dear pippi . I feel better now, as I apologized etc etc etc and we gave each other lots of cuddles.

AllQuietOnThePippisFront · 11/02/2010 20:05

We all have our weak point - your is the losing things (I remember the sock in the swimming pool incident ) mine is when dd1 goes off dreaming when I tell her stuff. I know I have to work on them, to work on myself on the reason why those thigs annoy me so much and why I cannot takle them with maturity like many other things.

Now these bring the questions: are your DH there with you in the mornings before school and for bedtime?

"I know I have to work on them, to work on myself on the reason why those thigs annoy me so much and why I cannot takle them with maturity like many other things". Yes, totally, me too. I wonder why I panic so much when I loose stuff. I feel so powerless and all my anger seems to erupt (my dad is the same, I think)

Yes, dh is usually here in the mornings and for bedtime. I have to say that mornings and bedtimes get increasingly better as the children grow. I barely notice it when I'm doing it alone nowadays.

Sputnik · 11/02/2010 20:52

Yes, I probably overreact because I was/am a daydreamer and a drifter-offer myself.
DD has taken to saying "stop moaning, British lady" (don't know where she has got that from!), it does sometimes defuse the situation.

My DH seems to go through periods of going away, but this was the first time since last summer. Now we are in Rome we get up together and usually leave the house together too. He is always here for bedtimes, it's one of the big big pluses of having moved here.

AllQuietOnThePippisFront · 11/02/2010 21:03

yes sputnik I suspect I might be slightly like DD1 in the daydreaming front. I need to investigate and self-assess. Also true that when DD1 is not so terrified and manages to say something to defuse I laugh at loud, and how relieved she is bless - she saya "Mamma vedi che ti ho fatto ridere!!" with a million dollar worried smile.

Maybe I shouldn't be so hard on myself, I do all mornings and bedtimes by myself. Dh leaves before we even get up and comes back half an hour before bedtime but relaxes and by then it's all done.

Francagoestohollywood · 11/02/2010 21:05

Was it carcetti's dh who used to travel often and we were convinced he was a spy ? I'm starting to loose the plot on LI, mixing up info...

Sputnik, yes, I seem to get more irrational when I recognize in my dc traits of myself that I don't particularly like, this happens more with ds who is as explosive as me

Francagoestohollywood · 11/02/2010 21:08

awwwwwww your dd is a sweetie pippi!

Gosh yes, give yourself a proud pat on the back for going solo mornings and bedtimes with dd2 still being so young

Sputnik · 11/02/2010 21:11

Yes it's tough doing it on your own, esp when they're little. Does get easier though.

I almost had my post-natal thread convinced DH was a diamond smuggler at one point.

AllQuietOnThePippisFront · 11/02/2010 21:12

I am patting myself ...

Must go to bed.

tommycarcetti · 11/02/2010 21:13

i do all mornings without dh, tbh, the few times he is around he gets on my nerves, so useless...bedtime pretty much always together, take a kid in turn, but tbh, when i do it by myself, there is less mess, they are faster in bed, light off immediately...so yes, evil single mum!

lol at the spy dh!

Francagoestohollywood · 11/02/2010 21:13

sputnik

Good night pippi

AllQuietOnThePippisFront · 11/02/2010 21:14

It was carcetty's dh yes.

AllQuietOnThePippisFront · 11/02/2010 21:15

here you are carcetti, I was about to post LOL at your dh's being a spy...

Francagoestohollywood · 11/02/2010 21:15

carcetti, yes, totally agree on the mess. And btw guess who, in the mornings, get the clothes out, packs ds's merenda, makes sure ds is wearing his grembiule, checks they are wearing clean mutande, etc etc etc? Me. Dh makes ds his toast, to be fair.

Francagoestohollywood · 11/02/2010 21:16

bei tempi....

Francagoestohollywood · 11/02/2010 21:17

I want to know more about the diamond smuggler, btw...

Sputnik · 11/02/2010 21:17

Yes that is totally true tommy, without DH here they are earlier in bed! Plus he just sits there watching DD get ready, it takes forever, wheras I give her a hand to speed things up, or tidy round the room or whatever.

Right. I am off to watch the real Tommy Carcetti, creep that he is.....

AllQuietOnThePippisFront · 11/02/2010 21:17

PS: my hands were horribly chapped and dry even on the palms [washwoman emoticon] and nothing seemed to relieve them, even expesive ones till today when I found a paraben-full one that is miracolosa: Neutrogena concentrated something something. I have put a smidging this aft and hands are softer than ever have been.

I am sure you all use it already but for those who don't...

Sputnik · 11/02/2010 21:19

Yes, I don't actually get to eat my own breakfast til I get back from the school run, not that I mind. Right really off now.

Francagoestohollywood · 11/02/2010 21:20

pippi you sound like an advert

Sput . dh is playing football tonight, so I'm missing my dose of baltimore city life

Francagoestohollywood · 11/02/2010 21:22

I often have breakfast after dropping dd at the bar sotto casa... they have novella 2000 and chi to read!!!

AllQuietOnThePippisFront · 11/02/2010 21:22

I know ... but it WORKS!!! Really!!!! Try and then tell me.

Francagoestohollywood · 11/02/2010 21:22

, I don't drop dd at the bar sotto casa

AllQuietOnThePippisFront · 11/02/2010 21:22
