dd1 also talks about Christmas constantly. And Halloween.

How bizarre. Ds the other night invented a song dedicated to Halloween (along the lines of "E' Halloween e fa molto freddo..." )

LOL Franca, dd1 has also turned into something of a troubadour, she often sings (VERY loud and VERY badly) songs made up on the spot which contain referecnes to all sorts of real life events... I should write them down... one memorable one a few months ago included Barack Obama and glittery things in the same sentence.

Her current thing is that she is going "to France". whenever I ask her to do something "but mummy, I can't, I am going on a trip to France, see you later!"

Actually I am finding dd1 more and more simpatica as she grows up, which is nice, makes up for all the months of screaming and not sleeping she put me through as a baby/toddler!

They do become more simpatici, I agree. As much as they are all cute and yummie when they are babies and toddlers, I find that the more they grow the more simpatici they are (until they hit the pre teen age...).

We were reading the dc Sandokan a few weeks ago. Dh started explaining them how salgari wrote about these exotic places, without ever setting foot outside of Turin, and ds asked (in a concerned tone): "Ma papa', Salgari scriveva questi libri in corsivo o in stampatello maiuscolo?"

My dad used to love Salgari as a kid and tried to get me into it, but i never liked them much. I think they're more fo a boy's thing.

the making songs up bit is one of my favourite. I also like it when she says things she heard at school, like the other day she told me that her dinner was "Yummaroni"

Well, their appreciation of Salgari escalated when we sang them "sale e scende la marea sandokan ha la diarrea" .

happy belated mothers day to the UK mums! DS wrote me lovely poem "chicks": ferree (furry) chicks, yelo (yellow) chicks, bon (born - as in just coming out of the egg) chicks , etc, a card and made a bunch of tulips with straws (I was allowed in his bedroom since he came home from school on friday as that's where he'd hidden the stuff )

Well I survived the day, now getting the cold myself too. Just wish DD could shut TF up for 5 minutes though without having to stick her in front of a computer.

It's pathetic I know, but I LOVE my birthday! dd1 gave me a drawing she'd made ages ago and hid so i wouldn't find it. I almost burst into tears.
She has also decreed we have to have a party, when I asked her who should we invite she said "other mummies", so got a cake and invited other mums from school over in the afternoon.... rock'n'roll!

Was going to head over to the beach area today to see if anybody has cartelle up saying for rent but thick fog which unlike yesterday has now cleared can't go til next week now but Mrosa should have vaccinations so any escape will be blocked I can see us not going this summer as we will be too late and the prices via teh agencies are sooo high.....

I'm sure you'll manage to find a good flat at the right price rosa . Are you still planning to go in June?
