I listened to my walkman regularly until I moved in with dh in 1999. I still have all my cassettes...

Mcnultysexgod · 01/02/2010 13:42

i still don't know quite well what an ipod is or an mp3 , i listen to our old cds, but mainly classical or jazz but i have got rid of my tapes a couple of years ago....

franca have you considered downloading movies?

Rosa · 01/02/2010 13:50

My radio is permantly tuned to Radio 80. I try changing it every once in a while and dh changes it back. SO I have no idea on any kind of music at all !
We have an IPod and I phone and music comes from - not sure if it should.
SG well done and hang in there I had 14 days of hell and was going to give up but then it got better.... ( that was with both of them)
Ikea I went once on saturday was there at 9am as doors opened and got round and out by 11 when everybody was just getting round the display bits IYKWIM.
Dh hates the place .
Another dilema. Been to see a house and it is cheap that we are a bit Thing is it had some abusivo building done on it years ago and we have asked to see the condano paperwork but they way it is now I can't change the layout much so am waiting to see if the geometra (sp) can say yes or now to an arch in a muro maestro. Plus we would have to demolish a cammino and tht would mean minimum 6 months waiting for a permesso.... SO mortgage plus rent it doesn't look so rosy but the house is soooo cheap. Put it this way for Eu50,000 more I would have said I don't like it , it is a bit strange and certainly doesn't tick all the boxes but it is a start ( or maybe I am getting so desperate right now !)DH is on finals for going back to work so lots of prep work to do and he had to rush off....SO I am sitting looking at the plan and thinking !!!!

Francagoestohollywood · 01/02/2010 14:21

No, never, where do you download them from?

Rosa, mmmmmm that's a difficult one. You must see the condono paperwork first. And then post us a piantina of the flat

Rosa · 01/02/2010 14:33

Franca check your mail ...........

Mcnultysexgod · 01/02/2010 17:22

good luck rosa, not sure what the condono is, is it prove there is nothing illegale going on? gut feeling is the only way to go with house buying..

franca, actually i don't download, sorry i gave the impression i know what i am talking about, surely other mumsnetters do, would you be able to watch online the ilove film or is only for uk residents?

Sputnik · 01/02/2010 17:42

Hmm Rosa, strange could also be interesting, no? I am intrigued now too.

Music you say. Is that like Wheels on the Bus? I have lost track of musical developments since having DD I'm afraid.

Mcnultysexgod · 01/02/2010 19:14

lol, sput, you had me there with Wheels on the bus! For a nanosecond I thought it was the name of a new band!!!!!

Francagoestohollywood · 01/02/2010 19:28

Oh yes, the wheels of the bus is a very cool indie band from Taunton

Sputnik · 01/02/2010 19:46

But of course. Have none of you downloaded their new single?
Forefront of cool, me.

Mcnultysexgod · 01/02/2010 20:03

Sputnik · 01/02/2010 22:23

Rosa · 02/02/2010 13:32

Ravin Mad ...... But having said that I was humming 'Little rabbit foo foo' on the vaporetto this morning .
Cold cold cold but thankfully sunny cold.....
Can't find a blooming architect I just want aconsulto sort of informal - They all want to give me huge appuntamenti and charge lots .

OP posts:
Francagoestohollywood · 02/02/2010 13:37

Oh no rosa, how much are they asking?

Sputnik · 02/02/2010 13:47

If it's about knocking a wall down etc maybe you could call in a builder type of person? We called in the guy who oversaw MIL's ristrutturazione (well, of her apt) when we went to see a place that needed a lot done. He was clued up about what walls could be knocked down, what was causing damp etc. He then did a preventivo.

It's my birthday folks!

And The Wire 3 arrived. Thanks Franca

Francagoestohollywood · 02/02/2010 13:56

Buon Compleanno Sputnik (and mr sputnik, vero?)

It's my db's birthday as well!

Francagoestohollywood · 02/02/2010 13:57

Yes a good builder or a good geometra might be as useful as an architect, if you are not planning a drastic change.

Rosa · 02/02/2010 14:16

Happy Birthday Sputnik.
Dh is getting on this pm to the geometra chap that came with us yesterday to see if he can suggest somebody. Plus we need to know if we can do anything with this maestro wall arco or pillars kind of thing. There is not much really we need an architect for IMO just yet as if we can do anything with this wall which I understand we need the geometra then we need one As also need to re design the kitchen space as the old canna fumaria ( ??????) has to be removed. My uncle unfortunatley died last summer he was a fabbo architect and it was his dream to do a house in Venice ok probably not an 80m Venetian box but hey ho!

Rosa · 02/02/2010 14:17

EU100 +IVA x consulto di circo un ora in luogo and then that would be discounted off the work if we went with them !

Francagoestohollywood · 02/02/2010 14:21

Sorry to hear about your uncle rosa.
I hope you get some good advise asap. How exciting!!!

Sputnik · 02/02/2010 15:56

80m is do-able Rosa, that's about what we have. Actually now we have shelves/pictures/plants going up I'm starting to feel quite fond of the place. Can you put the piantina on your profile or something?

Thanks for birthday wishes, yes it's also Mr Sputnik's. Unfortunately I have some kind of mild stomach flu so the special dinner DH was planning has been postponed. I am not complaining though, last year I had flat out proper flu and DCs had just had it so miserable. I got myself an 80% off sleeveless cardi in Zara and a plant, so happy!

Rosa · 02/02/2010 16:46

The arco in the muro is a highly likely no go . The house is circa 900 so they are unlikely to give a permesso to even put in supports. They might let you put in a porta vivande but not a door ???^!!!!!!** So no architect needed- gutted as as it is it is useless to us pretty much .
Sput sent you mail.....
Sorry about your tum and well done for the bargain shopping.
Just bought dd new boots as hers broke -Eu88 FGS in a sale - She does wear them lots to go to school and with gonne etc. DH gave me EU100 thinking it will do for shopping domani as well.........

So the arch would've been between kichen and pranzo? Is the problem that the kitchen is too small?
