email me Pippi, no problem.

Congratulations Baby SG and family!

SG- please look out for Tiktok (or put out a call for her on MN bf boards) if the bf continues to be toe-curling. Poor you, hope it gets better soon!

Thanks for all your lovely words of support yesterday, like Pippi, I feel I must be very PMTish.....hmmm, as I haven't had a period since 17th December it could be tutt'altro. and at the delicate age of 44 and a half, emphatically not something I was considering! Unfortunately, I'm one of those loons who when terribly madly angry ends up bursting into tears, which kind of negates my fvckityness. (maybe it's why I manage to be feisty on MN arguments, because it's all in print and not "live")

Lazy day today.....Dp putting playmobil hospital together (for the second time, we had it up in England too) and dd doing the 4 hours or so of h/w for tomorrow.....

Can I ask what we all think of Guido Bertolaso? I have a bit of a crush on him and keep thinking he should be the PM, let alone a minister. Then I read he is Ruini's nephew and I shudder slightly.....

AllQuietOnThePippisFront · 31/01/2010 10:37

LOL Buch I tend to cry out of rage too... very ineffective to say the least.

Def pmt here as I want to cry about everything, nothing anybody does it's right (normally I'd be able to shrug it off) and all I am eating is sugary starchy food.

domani e' un altro giorno.

SG we want to hear it all once you find the time, i.e. never again!

Gio haven't got yout email address. mine is the name of pippis house in italian @btinternet.com.

Francagoestohollywood · 31/01/2010 13:10

Hi everyone.
Buch, glad to hear you are a bit more cheerful today . No periods since december? !!! Are you pg?????

Bertolaso.... mmmmm I'm a bit suspicious about him, he is way too powerful. However I do agree with him about things like don't do stupidate in montagna (who wouldn't? )

Gio hello! Follonica sounds lovely, I wish it was summer NOW!

I still have a cold, and I think it's morphed into sinusite, I have a huge headache. I should take the dc to listen to a choir nr Brera, but I'd like to curl in bed for the whole afternoon.

Francagoestohollywood · 31/01/2010 13:13

lol lol lol, my dc have been playing nicely for some time in their bedroon, I could hear noises of battles etc. They've just arrived in the living room: him all dressed up as a knight with helmet etc, her is being his brave horse, she even has reins . Sono pazzi!

Bucharest · 31/01/2010 16:58

She sounds extremely patient if you ask me!
How's the head now Franca, have you had it over a bowl of hot water?

Francagoestohollywood · 31/01/2010 17:01

Ciao Buch. The head is still bad... I took the dc to a concert in a church (there was a children's choir) and it was freezing... so the head is worse now.
I know I should do fumenti... I'll probably take an OKI anyway (all the right side of my face hurts, teeth included)

minervaitalica · 31/01/2010 18:06

Hello! I am back... Apologies for disappearing but life has been mad - with me and hubby running around between work, asilo nido, mum, aunt, sister etc to make sure DD is not left on her own, we get to work on time etc etc. Hard work, but so far worth it. I am on balance happier being at work than at home all the time. But yes, it is knackering and in the evening I literally collapse in bed by 10pm!.

Work is also good, but way too much responsibility. Or perhaps I am just out of practice. . I think they are mental to let me do what I do. The company I work for makes orthopaedic prostheses (sp?) so the place is full of models of bones/skeletons etc... Makes a difference from a normal office too!

SG, congratulations over new baby - and good luck with BF - I found it incredibly hard so I am will be thinking of you! And the first tough weeks do pass...

GOod thing people are already asking about hols... Have to start thinking about those too eh eh

AllQuietOnThePippisFront · 31/01/2010 19:40

Thanks Gio !

Francagoestohollywood · 31/01/2010 20:35

Hi Minerva, so happy to hear all is well and you are enjoying yourself in your new job !
I thought you were working in a bank ! Do you work with other foreign countries a lot? Am I right to think that there mustn't be many companies making prosthetic parts of the human body?

Camomilla · 31/01/2010 20:47

Congratulations SG!!!!! bf was very painful even after we got the latching sorted, but it does get easier, guess it's your body re-adjusting and learning new things, was definetly a lotl less painful and for less second time round!

glad to see the PMT ladies happier today too ... but maybe MM's dream was right, Buch

MI, good to hear you're enjoying your new job, sounds quite interesting!

Camomilla · 31/01/2010 20:49

PS - franca, I dragged DP to ikea today (he was NOT happy after having worked til midnight last night but otherwise I can't finish the bedroom tom, so got my storage!

AllQuietOnThePippisFront · 31/01/2010 20:53

went to ikea today as well camo but why why... it is so quiet and lovely during the week and so so so bad at weekend. everyone is ready to kill for very very little.

Camomilla · 31/01/2010 21:02

I know, pippi, I was actually good as I knew what I wanted (including letting DC run around to burn off some steam ), only took longer as DP started chatting to a colleague and then phoned his friend (resulting in a bored Camo who ended up buying lots of little things she doesn't really need but suddenly realised couldn't live without...)

Francagoestohollywood · 31/01/2010 21:06

I think you are both crazy to go to ikea on a sunday ... However, I'm incredibly

Francagoestohollywood · 31/01/2010 21:07

what did you all get?
Are there any new bedlinen for the dc's bedroom?

Camomilla · 31/01/2010 21:22

DP left saying this is the last time . we didn't even wait more than 15 mins at the tills though...

got a couple of sets of boxes for undies/socks etc, a single aneboda wardrobe for the nursery, and few kitchen things, inc the frying pan. not in children, but they have a new duvet cover and fleece throw, white background with splattered paint like design, very colourful.

off to check the iplayer on the wii, if they've still got the Mrs mandela thing.

notte

I'm pissed off with Ikea as went to spend our voucher and the system wasn't working so had to put it all back. It's only 15 mins away though so no prob to go back.

Congratulations SG! Glad all went well. I found with both of mine there was a couple of weeks where the first seconds of latch was excruciating, and was very sore, it passed after a bit. I found aloe gel very good.

Buch I would have reacted like you at the school, really upseting.

Had a busy weekend as we've been celebrating our birthday on tuesday in advance. Had friends over last night then massive fish lunch with family today, followed by cakes. I am stuffed!

Bucharest · 01/02/2010 07:41

I would love to go to Ikea, but dp won't even go midweek. So I comfort myself with my M and S new towels, and am thinking of ordering new bedlinen from them too. (my American friend and I had huge fun when Bari-Ikea first opened though, watching all the nord-baresi (all with 25 members of their extended families) trying to go round the wrong way and getting lost)

I'm pissed off with napster as bought dp an MP3 for Christmas which allegedly has 30 days free napster included. Does it my ase. D/loaded 1 album which it promptly took the money for (you have to insert cc details even for free trial ) Now they are saying I did it wrong, but are not refunding. I'm sure I didn't do it wrong, am technophobe, but not that* bad that I can't insert a code in the right place!

Francagoestohollywood · 01/02/2010 11:08

I remember using Osminrag on my nipples the first weeks, but I have to say that it never really hurt too bad. Though I remember getting freaked out by super engorged boobs when ds was 5 days old and doing lots of spugnature with warm water... ah bei tempi !!!

I usually go to Ikea with my mum or with friends, dh refuses to set foot in it and we used to argue when in the UK, as I really needed to go at least once a year. grrrrr at dh.

Sputnik, have been to the PO today and sent you n.3. Got talked into getting a super fast one with ricevuta di ritorno... . It should be with you tomorrow... boh!

Francagoestohollywood · 01/02/2010 11:09

What's napster????

Bucharest · 01/02/2010 12:43

Napster is Itunes for people with MP3s rather than ipods. The one I bought dp for Christmas has a free trial with unlimited d/ls on it for 30 days. Except when I set it all up and tried one d/l as an experiment, it billed me (you have to put cc details in for when free trial ends) "Quincy" now tells me that I must have put code in wrong place/not put code in. I may be technologically inept, but even I can manage to put a code in the box that says "codes here". Pah.

What does everyone else use for music? All the hip teens tell me about emule, but I've never dared d/l anything recommended by anyone under the age of 20

Francagoestohollywood · 01/02/2010 13:06

Ah, ok, now I understand

Dh has downloaded lots of our cds on his ipod and might be using itunes, I don't have a clue!
I listen to the radio , but other than that I'm ashamed to say that I'm not that interested in "contemporary" music, apart from Elio, that is ... Seriously, I listen to our cds... I'm happy with my Blur or Rem or musica dei miei tempi. Oh gosh, I sound like a sfigata !!!

Bucharest · 01/02/2010 13:07

lol Franca, the last music I ever bought was an Oasis cassette in 1997.
