Glad job going well MI and gutted for you re flat Rosa!
I love Carlo Verdone!
Franca knows as she say me on the other thread but am very excited (and knackered with a sore thigh) cos I went running for the first time ever today!!!! Oh My God I cannot believe how unfit I am. In my head I was NOT that unfit. I must keep it going. I started thinking the other day I have a stressful job, I could do with losing a few pounds, I smoke a couple of cigs a day - none of it great when I consider am soon to be pushing 40. And I saw some funky trainers in the sale..... But I had no idea how hard I would find it .

Francagoestohollywood · 18/01/2010 13:59

Buch

Hello Delgirl

Sputnik I agree, I often prefer to use the hand blender, which I bought when ds was little and I was making him all sorts of soups.

Gio!!! Have you seen how many positive experiences were posted on your thread? I think you should keep going, the program I linked to is said to work really well. I want to try and start running too, but it's too cold and grey at the moment. I bet you have some lovely parks you can go for a run in rome.
I'm also an occasional smoker, but I don't want to stop .

Rosa, flat sounds good, it really is worth investigating with the banks.

Rosa · 18/01/2010 14:12

Well done Gio the 2nds and 3rd time are the worst so they say I hate running and would have to do it during the dead of night ...
I diddn't realise those bimbi things were 1000EU ...blimey can you wear them as a necklace to show everybody you have one ?

OP posts:
Francagoestohollywood · 18/01/2010 14:14

... a bimbi is forever

AllQuietOnThePippisFront · 18/01/2010 14:18

See see I was right... everyone has a bimbi in italy (except highbrow LI MNetters of course) !

Rosa I am keeping my fingers crossed for your falt. It does sound The One!!!!

BananaGio well done on the running: you, me and McNulty are all on a become keep-fit Resolution. Lets support eachother.

Ah, I am going to start a thread about this but maybe you can help too. Re Life insurances: No one would touch DH with a bragepole after his op last year. Would you know any insurers that are more flexible?

Ciao.

BananaGio !!!
(everytime I see 'you' I see me in summer house in summer clothes indoor in the dark - too hot outside, watching BS and TH movies with DB ).

AllQuietOnThePippisFront · 18/01/2010 14:18

flat, even.

Francagoestohollywood · 18/01/2010 14:24

I want to join the keep (sort of) fit brigade. I'll try to start running as soon as the weather changes (no money for the gym at the moment).
For now I bought a tisana depurante, is that enough ?

(yes, BS and TS movies were always on in the summer. Why?)

School run time for me....

Sputnik · 18/01/2010 14:26

Hi Delgirl, will probably be around at some point that weekend, let's meet! I will have to sort out those DVDs I keep meaning to get DH to do (sorry ).

Well done on the runing Gio. Count me in on the fitness thing, we have one of those cross-trainer things, which is a bit less embarassing than going out running in public and much better than a cyclette, anyway as of a week ago I have been on that most days, or else out walking, having decided to concentrate on fitness rather than diet. Maybe I will finally shift some baby weight brfore my baby is actually school age.

Rosa · 18/01/2010 14:34

we have a cyclette thing would like a cross trainer but don't have the space. I would love to do Pilates twice a week and do 30 mins aerobic before that. But that is in an ideal world ..Oh we also have the wii fit which is fun just need the time....( So I could have been doing 20 mins now but my excuse is I am printing things off for English domani and looking for mortagages. Barclays was high BTW!)

We got our mortgage through an agent and he offered a better deal than the official one IYSWIM. Actually we found him through the estate agent, lots of them offer mortgage consultancy and it's worth looking into, though most of them are a sola. Was a good deal though, the people we bought off ended up changing their mortgage too.

AllQuietOnThePippisFront · 18/01/2010 14:53

Lol at 'sola' Sputnik... I had not heard that word for years .

Sputnik · 18/01/2010 14:59

Yes should really have said 'na sola!

Bucharest · 18/01/2010 16:03

Good lord, a bimbi costs how much?????

(and here's me waiting till next month to spend 400 on a new forno!)

Francagoestohollywood · 18/01/2010 16:16

Oh I want a cross trainer now!

Sputnik · 18/01/2010 16:36

Much cheaper than a Bimbi!

DelGirl · 18/01/2010 17:32

no worries about the dvd's . I think we shall be there until about 3pm on Saturday.....flying home at 8pm. I wish i'd booked it for longer but we'll be there permanently soon enough and we are renting a place in Forcella as the house will be too cold. That's me, dd and dbro. If you happen to be in Poggio on Friday, we could do the usual take care x

Rosa · 18/01/2010 17:35

Remind me not to ever show dh a bimbi he has just come home with a cappucino maker one of those cialde things---- we already have the mukka thing . The big coffee pot with the cow spots on. He buys more electric crap than me.
IN this house We have no coffee cups ( cafe) as we don't drink it . I have one coffee out in the morning as part of the social nursery mums bit. Where we are going to put it I don't know as the cupboards are full .......
Oh his excuse he had an hour to waste until the cantire opened so he went to Saturn !!!

OP posts:
Francagoestohollywood · 18/01/2010 17:51

Rosa , your dh is the king of gadget !!!

Sputnik · 18/01/2010 20:15

Delgirl, was going to warn you about the cold!
Unfortunatly our half term is the week after, we usually arrive about 6-8pm on friday, so could either meet for a pizza on friday night or a coffee saturday morning.

Blimey Rosa, I can't get out of bed in the morning without a coffee, how do you manage?

Rosa · 18/01/2010 20:25

tea tea tea all the way for me ...If he makes me a cappuccino domani mattina I will flip!
Its got a effin seperate jug thing that you plug in that boils milk and makes froth FGS.
Its Delonghi but only takes Nespresso things 1) Its Nestle that I don't buy and
2)No George CLooney with it.
When I said it would be quicker and less messy to put a cup of milk in the mircowave I got a very sour look !
But we do have a buono to get more little potty things to shove in it - hurrah

Sputnik · 18/01/2010 20:37

AllQuietOnThePippisFront · 18/01/2010 21:18

Franca I need recipe for Arrosto again please...

Francagoestohollywood · 18/01/2010 21:28

Ok:

  • rosola la carne in olive oil
  • add a chopped onion and rosemary
  • salt
  • sfuma with a glass of white wine, fai evaporare the wine
  • add a glass of water, put the lid on and fai andare per almeno un'ora.
AllQuietOnThePippisFront · 18/01/2010 21:37

Grazie assai !

Bucharest · 19/01/2010 07:53

Morning!

Franca, did you find the "preposterous" foreign names thread "racist and xenophobic"?
I didn't, at all, but am getting so confused these days with what's offensive on MN and what's not, that I'm feeling a bit now.
