As you may know TrinityRhinos dh died in August and a small request to buy some shoes turned into a very loving, giving thread to help Trinity, another Mumsnetter (sleepwhenidie) suggested that maybe we could sort getting TR a present for her and she has been hankering after this coat
for over a year, I started a paypal fund which currently has around £470 in it and thought I'd cheekily email Boden to ask for a discount on the coat and this is the most fantastic email reply I received today

'Dear Michelle,

Thanks for getting in touch, Trinity is very fortunate to have such good friends.

We would love to give you this coat for Trinity, plus a £50 Boden gift voucher for each of her daughters and step sons.

Please let me know which size and colour you would like and I'll get the coat ordered for you.

Best wishes
Josie'

How bloody fantastic is that!!![grin
now means all the money raised can go to TR in vouchers to help try and make this Christmas a little more happy for them all

I did get a bit wet in the eyes when I received the email (not proper tears but certainly was a tad emotional was so pleased with what they offered)

I did have a proper tear last night when a lovely mumsnetter not only sent £50 for Trinitys fund but a seperate £25 for me to buy myself some flowers with for organising it (have never had someone do that for me )

oh wow, how lovely.
i'm an avid boden fan anyway, love that their clothes are proper childrens clothes and not mini adults.

i will send a little amopunt to paypal on friday, i wish i could send more than i will be, but getting divorced and 4 children mean i'm not flush. but really want to help out. you all sound amazing and some fantastic donations there.

if you find out your grandchild will be a girl i have a stack of small baby clothing that dd2 has outgrown and by the time baby is due will have a car seat and various other bits of equipoment a small baby needs.

eandh · 03/11/2009 20:06

£770 winging its way to my account from paypal, am wondering if my local tesco store thinks its a bit weird when I go to buy 8 giftcards 7 x £100 and a £70 one (must ring my bank and pre warn them or bet they decline the transaction)

Just in case anyone has any items they would like to donate to another Mumsnetter or feeling in a Christmassy mood don't forget the annual Mumsnet appeal. It really does make a huge difference to the families who receive these gifts, details are on the sticky at top of active convos

NormaStanleyFletcher · 04/11/2009 15:20
