As you may know TrinityRhinos dh died in August and a small request to buy some shoes turned into a very loving, giving thread to help Trinity, another Mumsnetter (sleepwhenidie) suggested that maybe we could sort getting TR a present for her and she has been hankering after this coat
for over a year, I started a paypal fund which currently has around £470 in it and thought I'd cheekily email Boden to ask for a discount on the coat and this is the most fantastic email reply I received today

'Dear Michelle,

Thanks for getting in touch, Trinity is very fortunate to have such good friends.

We would love to give you this coat for Trinity, plus a £50 Boden gift voucher for each of her daughters and step sons.

Please let me know which size and colour you would like and I'll get the coat ordered for you.

Best wishes
Josie'

How bloody fantastic is that!!![grin
now means all the money raised can go to TR in vouchers to help try and make this Christmas a little more happy for them all

If DM do a story they should mention that we are giving TR tesco vouchers and see if they'll match them as we now have around £720 to send TR in tesco vouchers!!

well done boden, power to the sassy hotchpotch!

AtleastbeCYBILtoeachother · 03/11/2009 08:22

We can still laugh at Boden though can't we?

But what a lovely gesture from them

eandh · 03/11/2009 08:43

Am sure we can constructively criticise comment on some of the items

Iklboo · 03/11/2009 09:01

Thank you thank you Boden for

"If DM do a story they should mention that we are giving TR tesco vouchers and see if they'll match them as we now have around £720 to send TR in tesco vouchers!!"

fab idea

yes let's see DM do something to help mumsnet rather then just exploit it - DM we will gladly accept any donation. Same from you Mr Tesco

jetforkesandbonfires · 03/11/2009 09:03

nice one Boden

Bucharest · 03/11/2009 09:10

Brilliant!
I now feel better about the online order I placed on Sunday (which I probably shouldn't have!)

knotswapper · 03/11/2009 09:15

Wow, how incredibly generous .

I'm glad I've persevered with my allegiance and get my Boden stuff shipped to Oz.

I do hope Tescos manage to follow suit.

Eve · 03/11/2009 09:15

How wonderful for a company to have a heart!

So used to cynical money making enterprises that its truly amazing when someone does something like this at such a personal level.

Well done Boden... (ps I've always been a customer...)

and well done mumsnet for caring.

PortoTreasonandPlot · 03/11/2009 09:15

This is lovely! I have started blubbing at my desk and my colleagues are looking at me strangely. Well done eandh!

MmeGuisingt · 03/11/2009 09:25

Wow, well done Josie@Boden. That is fantastic. I have never ordered from Boden, but I might just do so now. Off to see if they deliver to Switzerland.

Good on you, e&h.

mama2leah · 03/11/2009 09:29

woohooo!

Peartree15 · 03/11/2009 09:40

Well done Boden, lovely gesture, and shame on the ones of you who are calling it a cynical PR exercise. It is quite obvious that they are just doing a good thing.

MrsGokVantsyourblood · 03/11/2009 09:53

Well done Boden on such a generous gift.

Also well done EandH for helping sort this out.

Trinity that coat is lush and I am so pleased for you. I love the purple.

PDR · 03/11/2009 10:17

It really doesn't matter if they are doing it as a cynical PR exercise - the result is still the same!

Disenchanted3 · 03/11/2009 10:24

Wheres Trinity?!

Bramshott · 03/11/2009 10:25

Wow, that's great. Well done EandH for organising this.

As there's now so much, is it worth sending TR some of money in cash and the rest in Tesco vouchers? That way if there are things she needs which are NOT from Tesco, she has options?

TrinityHasAVampireRhino · 03/11/2009 10:38

hi, I'm here

GunpowderTreasonAndDragons · 03/11/2009 10:38

OMG! How utterly fabulous of them

Well done eandh for being a cheeky mare and asking

TrillianAstra · 03/11/2009 11:05

Mmm, lovely coat...

I agree, Tesco should match it too...

Well done on your nearly-grandchild Trinity!

treedeLivingDeadery · 03/11/2009 11:06

TR Congratulations nanna-to-be

Posting your baby stuff today, will let you know projected delivery date. It's over 15kg [kitchen scales couldn't cope] so I think it will be a trackable parcel force. Then at least you aren't waiting in for parcels.

VulpusinaWilfsuit · 03/11/2009 11:07

Oh. MY. GOD. Have just seen this. How fecking brilliant are Boden.

They are now the Official MN clothing retailer. Even more than they were before

I love Johnnie. And Mrs Johnnie. And all their skinny 12 year old moggles and ruddy cheeked American imps.

Ludaloo · 03/11/2009 11:15

gulp...that honestly bought a tear to my eye!!

Excellent news x
