As you may know TrinityRhinos dh died in August and a small request to buy some shoes turned into a very loving, giving thread to help Trinity, another Mumsnetter (sleepwhenidie) suggested that maybe we could sort getting TR a present for her and she has been hankering after this coat
for over a year, I started a paypal fund which currently has around £470 in it and thought I'd cheekily email Boden to ask for a discount on the coat and this is the most fantastic email reply I received today

'Dear Michelle,

Thanks for getting in touch, Trinity is very fortunate to have such good friends.

We would love to give you this coat for Trinity, plus a £50 Boden gift voucher for each of her daughters and step sons.

Please let me know which size and colour you would like and I'll get the coat ordered for you.

Best wishes
Josie'

How bloody fantastic is that!!![grin
now means all the money raised can go to TR in vouchers to help try and make this Christmas a little more happy for them all

eandh · 02/11/2009 21:25

countess - thankyou but to be honest its been lovely doing it and have enjoyed it

Trinity and I were on same antenatel thread (dd2 was 5th jan 2007 and gecko was a late arrival iirc february in the end) so it hit home a little harder when I read what had happened to TR and looked at my dd2 sitting on dh's lap

ScaryMotherWhoScreeches · 02/11/2009 21:40

I never thought I'd say it..., but really...

Hurrah for Boden!!!

edam · 02/11/2009 21:42

that's lovely.

eandh, you may want to rethink the child modelling though - my friend's dd did some work for Boden and ended up standing in a freezing London park in mid-winter wearing summer frocks that had huge holes chopped out of the back by someone who took samples of the fabric. Sounded very odd indeed!

LynetteScavo · 02/11/2009 21:43

I just showed DH the OP.

He said "very good, but I still dont' like Johnnie".....and has grumped off to bed.

Well done Boden, and eanddh.

ilovesprouts · 02/11/2009 21:43

thats very good

HuwEdwards · 02/11/2009 21:52

Like a number on this thread, I am a Boden virgin....well was, till the weekend when I went to a Boden clothes party.

TRINITY - that coat is sublime

I know it's a drop in the ocean for Boden £-wise, but gives me a fuzzy warm feeling that behind the website, there is humanity.

Well done eandh.

TheBlairSnitchProject · 02/11/2009 21:52

Wow! Well done eandh..now get writing to Tesco - maybe we can get them too add to the vouchers we buy?

I am so impressed with Boden, am going to purchase the lovely checked shirt for DS that I wrote off as too expensive last month (maybe you should send them the link to this thread?)

eandh · 02/11/2009 22:00

stressed2007 · 02/11/2009 22:02

Now if you get anything like that out of Tesco I really will be AMAZED!

What we need is a Tesco manager who posts on mumsnet

eandh · 02/11/2009 22:04

SCARYspicemonster · 02/11/2009 22:08

Blimey - that has really cheered me up. I shall never slag Johnnie and his hundreds of catalogues off again

squeaver · 02/11/2009 22:09

Bloody hell.

Well done eandh

Well done Johnnie and his crew

Well done everyone who's ever been on a thread loving or hating Boden. That's why we're on their radar and why they're doing this.
