Dh will drive our horses on the forestry tracks. He pulled me up and down the track yesterday when he got it home

What are you up to today?
I thought about taking the boys to the Notting Hill Carnival but I really don't think I can be bothered. They had a busy day and late night yesterday (we went to my uncle and his wife's joint 50th birthday party) so a quiet day at home should do them good.

Just been for our first family bike ride
Am feeling ok so far. Ds was a bit wobbly but didn't fall off. DD was fine on the tag along.

Told Ma we'd rather eat at home...she is a bit humpy about it but don't feel like having to keep the kids in check and being too far from the sofa.

RP has still not got here...(thanks for my pictures Lyra)

Our summer ended ages ago. It's been throwing it down all day here. The roads are flooded and the rivers are spating.

Why the bonnet Berrie?

For when you go out on the Sulky of course!

Dh bought an enoooooormous chocolate cake...we had to chop it up to put it in different boxes as it wouldn't fit in a standard tin. We'll be eating it for days and days. Plonker!

It's not the sort of thing you would go out on for a nice genteel drive

For starters it's only for one person.
Secondly the position you sit in is most unbecoming and reminiscent of lying with your feet up in stirrups for a smear
Thirdly you go hell for leather. The horse goes at a fast trot. It's more of a race chariot. A bonnet would get blown straight off

Perhaps one of these would be more appropriate.
