Woo Hoo!

oggsfrog · 28/08/2009 20:24

Woo. Just installed the player and will give dh a kick up the bum to go and fetch the wine.

We watched an absolutely pants film last night.... "Shark in Venice". Yup.

Oh oh ohhh. Was hoping you'd finished. I've been watching clips on youtube so I know what you are seeing. I know I've said this before but it is VERY rude...bit embarrassed!

DH says he'll watch it again with me but I don't really do rewatching.

Berrie · 28/08/2009 21:25

Well? Well?

Berrie · 28/08/2009 21:27

Oh bum am going to have to go to bed...

Berrie · 28/08/2009 21:37

Still secrely waiting...

oggsfrog · 29/08/2009 08:48

Morning

Righty ho.
We watched 3 episodes last night.
I really liked it . Took me a couple of episodes to get used to her hair colour and to Bill, but it's great. Her brother looks really familiar. It is rude. But it is great .

Dh almost fell asleep (a combination of tiredness and wine. Happens whenever we watch a dvd ).

I asked him this morning if he liked it and he said "I liked her legs but other than that... (here he grunted and the nearest approximation I can get is 'meh')... it's just more vampires".

Tbh I have rather overdosed him on vamps, werewolves and that ilk. He is not a fantasy man at all.
He likes fact.
He likes his films to have lots of action (I think this is because the bangs and crashes help keep him awake .

I could probably twist his arm to watch more, as I can with Angel, Buffy etc but it's not something he would choose himself to watch.

So a great big thumbs up from me.
It's inspired me to read the books (God, when am I going to have time to read them I've already got a backlog). Many comparisons to be made between them and Twilight methinks.

I'm looking forward to seeing it. In fact, I might download eisode one to get me started while I await my DVD.
Have you finished The Host yet? Can we talk about it?

MatthewBellamysMuse · 29/08/2009 09:28

Oh, the guy from the data recvery place rang yesterday to say he can't recover anything from my damaged had drive
Three years worth of family holidays, birthday parties, Christmases etc gone in a puff of smoke. Not to mention the music I spent countless hours downloading. Although I can get all that back if I can remember what I had.

Berrie · 29/08/2009 10:06

Oh bugger Lyra. How is DP?

The books are not the same Oggs. Have read first. (I can send you it) Tara is not in it.(she might come later in the books I think) It kind of spoiled the first series as I kept saying, that doesn't happen...what about....I've decided not to read them as the tv version is so good anyway.

Jason is Vinnie from Home and Away.
Sookie is that girl from The Piano who won an Oscar as a child. Bill is from Essex.

MatthewBellamysMuse · 29/08/2009 11:15

Vinnie? The one who mysteriously died in prison then came back to life?
DP's ok. He's in a fair bit of pain and is hobbling about like an old man. My mum has the DC today as I'm working and he's in no fit state.
I dropped them off at her flat at 11pm last night after spending rather too long at Shoreditch House, which was lovely, very posh but food very expensive. It has a pool and daybeds on the roof. My sister is very lucky to be a member. As we left Jason Statham was coming out of the lift as we got in. The boys were most impressed by the free sweeties.
Poor boys fell asleep on the tube and I had to carry DS2 to the bus. Poor DS1 got shaken awake and had to take charge of the Oyster card. Poor things were knackered. I am a bad mummy dragging them into town on a friday night

MatthewBellamysMuse · 29/08/2009 15:48

Wached the first episode. Now downloading the second. I see what you mean about it being rude

Berrie · 29/08/2009 16:53

Woo hoo Lyra's in

Yes that's him!

oggsfrog · 29/08/2009 18:32

How's dh feeling now Lyra? Hope he isn't in much pain. When does he have to go back?
TB is good isn't it?

Berrie, you're becoming a bit of a trendsetter when it comes to leading us astray aren't you?
I knew Sookie was played by Anna Paquin (I like her. She was also in Fly Away Home which I got press tickets to go and see when I was working in a bookshop. There was only me and one other bloke in the whole room.), it was her hair colour that took some getting used to.

Why do they keep picking english blokeys to play the vamps?

OP posts:
MatthewBellamysMuse · 29/08/2009 18:39

She's a funny-looking girl though isn't she?
DP a bit better, not in as much pain. He's cooking dinner now so he can't be too bad.

MatthewBellamysMuse · 29/08/2009 18:57

Ok, so who copied who with this 'I like you so much because you're the only one whose thoughts I cant hear' thing. Definitely plagiarism afoot here.

oggsfrog · 29/08/2009 19:31

The Southern Vampire Mysteries (renamed True Blood) were first published in 2001.
Twilight was first published in 2005.
Go figure

OP posts:
MatthewBellamysMuse · 29/08/2009 19:33

So Stephenie Meyer just did a straight copy job? Very disappointed in her.
Vinnie's showing an awful lot of butt so far

oggsfrog · 29/08/2009 19:41

I've not seen Home and Away for eons.
I remeber Joe Mangel, Sky, Daphne, Angel Toadfish, Paul Robinson, and Shane (the one who played the Dr in Holby).

Which episode are you on now Lyra? Are you actually watching now?

OP posts:
oggsfrog · 29/08/2009 19:45

D'oh. Just realised most of them are from Neighbours not H&A. Can't really remeber H&A. Was there a girl called Sally?

OP posts:
MatthewBellamysMuse · 29/08/2009 20:00

They were all frm Neighbours.
Yes, Sally was in H&A. I watched it religiously for years but gave up about 4 years ago when there was a mass exodus of major characters.
I'm on episode 2 but I have to keep pausing it to do a bit of work every now and then

oggsfrog · 29/08/2009 20:20

Off to watch a non-vamp dvd with dh.

Have fun

OP posts:
MatthewBellamysMuse · 29/08/2009 21:06

Damn, episode two is finished and now I want to watch episode 3. Damn you Berrie! You got me into this!

oggsfrog · 29/08/2009 21:20

Non-vamp film is crap. Just off to top up my wine.

OP posts:
MatthewBellamysMuse · 29/08/2009 21:25
