Titania · 27/04/2005 15:13

how can i be flattered about people ripping the piss out of me and my life.....

bundle · 27/04/2005 15:15

titania, if you choose to post things you won't necessarily "hear" what you want to..no one is taking the piss out of "you" specifically, it's about the way MN is, and a lot of it is directed back at the people posting as much as anyone. you have had a lot of kindness shown to you by many people on MN, please don't get things out of proportion.

suzywong · 27/04/2005 15:17

lots of people find gerbils condusive to comedy it's not just us

Join in? Cos all that people were doing was ripping the piss out of themselves for the threads they start, enjoy and join in on. No-one used anything with ref to the feeling low or ttc or any topics like that - and it wasn't about YOUR loss of YOUR gerbil, but that even gerbils become the bread and butter of MN.

gingerbear · 27/04/2005 15:18

Surely this thread is about laughing at ourselves as mumsnetters and the things we frequently post about? There are over 400 posts here - not all of them about gerbils.

HappyDaddy · 27/04/2005 15:19

Ripping the piss out of you and your life? I don't think so. Are you forgetting the help that Mumsmetters have given you, recently? If you really expected help to look for a gerbil over the internet, you have greater faith in technology than me.

We didn't mean any harm, just lightening the mood.

laugh and the world laughs with you ............

Blu · 27/04/2005 15:20

Buut T, I can see how you would feel a bit avalanched. But as ggglimpopo says, most people probably hadn't even read your thread - you know how things take on a life of their own on MN.

Anyway, I am sorry if you felt that it was personal to you, or getting at you.

suzywong · 27/04/2005 15:36

is this shame-faced obscurity for this thread then?

HappyDaddy · 27/04/2005 15:37

I hope not, it's my finest hour.

suzywong · 27/04/2005 15:38

is surely is HappyDaddy, it surely is

HappyDaddy · 27/04/2005 15:40

I might have to print and frame it.

Blu · 27/04/2005 15:41

Happy Daddy you made me shriek yesterday!

suzywong · 27/04/2005 15:41

does it mention you knocking one out in laybys? Just think you may want evidence of that to be not in writing

Marina · 27/04/2005 15:41

Sorry you were upset Titania . It is possible to have enjoyed this thread (and spotting one's own previous contributions being sent up) without having read your gerbil thread or seeing it as personal to anyone. I truly don't think you were a target.
HD, what were you all on. I nearly wet myself catching up this morning!

Enid · 27/04/2005 16:07

oh I thought T was getting into the spirit of the thread then:
"don't want to flounce but goodbye from me" ...my personal fave.

did anyone mention baby pasta?

Enid · 27/04/2005 16:09

did T lose a gerbil?

missed that.

Fio2 · 27/04/2005 16:10

honestly titania I think you should look at a career in actingxx

Enid · 27/04/2005 16:12

you lot are hilarious

can I just single out suzywong and marina for special attention and praise

FLUM · 27/04/2005 16:17

Gerbil found in pot of baby pasta! Will it still be safe to eat?

bundle · 27/04/2005 16:17

flum, what's the sell-by date?

FLUM · 27/04/2005 16:18

do gerbils have them?
