Hello everybody. I did it! I feel great and this one is the last for sure. Very tired but otherwise fab. I'm writing this down while I remember, so sorry for the long post.

I went for a 40 min walk after the dc were in bed, and got home to have a nice hot shower and watch The Apprentice. Half way through I realised I was having contractions and so half hearted started one of those online contraction monitors. Dh didn't even realise I was having them so frequently. I was obviously handling them very well

At this point we decided to inflate the birth pool and start filling it. All was well until I realised Dh had put the hose UNDER the liner and we had to empty it and start again. Luckily it had only been filling for 10 mins.

The midwife arrived about midnight and contractions were managable about every 3 mins apart. She set up her area and realised she would have to call the 2nd midwife as contractions were coming fast.

I knew both midwives as they each had delivered the other dc. On examination I was 4-5 cm and as soon as the pool was ready at about 1.30 I got in. It was lovely but contractions slowed down. The pool was in the kitchen, and it is a long way to our loo upstairs, so whenever I needed to wee, I got out and went upstairs which was good because contractions came back. At 3.00 on examination I was 5cm stretching to 7 on contraction. They were talking about breaking my waters but I said no! I had about 40mins lying on my bed dozing, then went down and got back in the pool. At 4.40 I got up to go to the loo again and was feeling pressure to push and asked them to examine me. My waters were broken painlessly (unlike last time) and immediately things started up again. I just made it back to the pool in time for some mega contractions and started to push. Very gently, and after a few ins and outs, Rachel was born.

We had a good 10 mins of just sitting in the water, before I tried to get out. My placenta dropped into the water without any synto and I didn't feel a thing. Straight to boob for an hour. No repair jobs needed, despite small 2* tear. My mum arrived at 6.30 and the dc woke at 7. DD was a little upset at first, and then over the moon.

Just off for a kip before mw comes to take blood (I'm rh-ve) and Dr comes fo check up.

AND, it was dp's birthday yesterd, he was pleased with his docking station except it broke after 20 minutes and died, wouldnt play anything or even turn on. so i returned it and got my money back, i gave him all the moent for it instead and so he wentout and choose a sony one as we dont have anywhere near us that stock the bose one i got him, and as he wanted it there and then (typical man) he got the sony one, which is actually very good for less than half the money! and he came home with a little flatscreen tv for the bedroom 9even though we dont have an aerial in the bedroom..

did lots of gardening this morning, cleared 3 borders rready for my next lot of things to go in. my neighbour is going to chealsea garen show next week so her employers are sponsering a garden so she gets to go man the stall with it, some thing about saving water or something, (she works for the waterboard)

worley · 15/05/2009 15:31

i have only just twigged what all you cook one freeze one was for jenn. how long do you have stored up?

Jennster · 15/05/2009 17:12

Not that much. I've had a bolognaise and a cake out of the booty so far. Tonight we're having satay chicken and the dc are having...erm.... beans on toast?

Mumsnet been down again this afternoon. It's at least getting me to have a sleep.

TheScarletMacdog · 15/05/2009 17:45

it's this one

we're just chilling out waiting for dh to get home. dd merrily chomping on fish fingers.

Chinese for us

Jennster · 15/05/2009 18:58

Hair looks fab btw macdog. Have a tummy split so making dh do everything.

worley · 15/05/2009 21:48

red passion
ds2 picked a caroot up in tescos and bit it so i brought it and he had eaten it all by the time he got home yesterday, today he had orange poo!!

make sure you get lots of rest jenn, is your dh taking paternity leave with you all?

worley · 16/05/2009 08:39

? a caroot? !! i meant carrot lol

so i managed to get the front garden weeded and new plants put in, i put nicotina, stocks, gazanias, marigolds, dahlias, asters and cosmos. cant wait for them to grow up now. i have about 20 nicotinas and dahlias left which my mum has claimed! i was going to put them in the back garden but she is already planning where to put them! i have lots of salvias for the back garden still.

im going to get my hanging baskets ready today and hang them in the cold frame for a while till they fill out a bit, i got red surfinias, million bells crackling fire, bananna split nasturiums, verbena temali scarlet and a fushia that i cant remember the name of, they are all red/orange/yellow, to co-ordinate with the house bricks and the paint on the top half of the house. my mum thought that was funny when i told her i was co-ordinating with the bricks!

worley · 16/05/2009 08:41

ds2 still asleep so im laying in bed on here! dp at work and ds1 making the most of his brother being asleep and playing on the egg box as ds2 calls it (x box) as ds2 yakes delight in turning it off when ds1 is it a crucial point ds1 will so get ds2 back for that in a few years time!

TheHumanTorchIsDeniedaBankLoan · 16/05/2009 11:50

hola amigas

what is a tummy split Jenn? sounds like a kind of biscuit

on Soccer Am this morning I cried when the army photos were being shown. Dh makes me watch it, its quite good, Helen the presenter is quite entertaining, I thik Id have been like her if I never had kids
Id have never grown out my bleach hilights without kids

macdog the red looks lovely. I am wondering what to do with mine really.
Just been to building society to pay in fine for late mortgage payment (oops!) and to Tesco, bought dd some number floor mats she has just decimated them all over the floor they are like a big walk on jigsaw, £5, really good. Been saying 'jump on number 8' etc, she knows her numbers great now.

TheHumanTorchIsDeniedaBankLoan · 16/05/2009 11:52

worley lol egg box
and lol turning it off at a crucial point!!!

dh totally addicted to Far Cry 2 on our egg box. My trivial pursuit and connect 4 have never had a look in. [sniff]

jenn do you think you will have any more babies? and have them sharing rooms? some of my best childhood memories are from when I shared a room with my sister (aged from about 6-11)

Jennster · 16/05/2009 15:08

Tummy split is where your abdominal muscles part down the centre. If you're not careful and do physio gently, you can end up with a pot belly and never ever have a flat tummy again.

No more skids! They are going to share anyway dd1 and dd2. Our 4th bedroom is not in the same part of the house as the the other 3, and not suitable for a child under 8 really.

SORE nipples. I need to get my latch checked. I know what is meant to happen, but even a BfN helper can have problems!
