jenn - - what can the old chemist recommend for acne caused by pregnancy? my poor sister is covered in it..

also very worrying..dh's dad seriously ill in hospital with chest issues, they think pleurisy. off to google it.

really strongly wish we lived closer to our family.

VoodooTheUnlikely · 28/04/2009 18:43

so have googled pulmonary embolism and pleurisy and am worried. Hospital is def. the best place for him,

dh's mum told me he hasnt been moving around enough after he ripped all his muscles in his knee falling down some steps. He has a cast on. She nagged at him and he lifted the hoover with one hand and instantly had crushing pains in his chest.

dh gone down there tonight [worried]

Macdog · 28/04/2009 18:59

How's FIL doing Voods?

OP posts:
Jennster · 29/04/2009 08:48

Morning. Acne caused by pregnancy? Erm not much to be honest. Her hormones will settle down. Steam the face? Better still go for a facial Plenty of fresh fruit and veg and a healthy diet will help, but not ensure clear skin, but then whe will know this already.

Pulmonary Embolism (PE) and Pleurisy are very different. Let's hope it's pleurisy, although PE is very treatable.

iPod station. We have an Intempo dab radio iPod dock Now it doesn't look much. It fits on top of the microwave, but the sound of it is crystal clear. I love it. Perhaps not what you're looking for, but I have a BIG house and if it's turned up loud I can hear it in the south wing upstairs clearly

Macdog · 29/04/2009 10:37

Jenn not joking about south wing BTW. Right beside the ballroom it is.

OP posts:
Jennster · 29/04/2009 10:55

But we don't use it as a ballroom. Far too drafty.

So I've been climbing ladders and working out how to use the loft hatch. It's too steep for me to carry stuff up so have to wait for dh to get home for his lunch. First load of nappies and baby clothes in washer. Just need to wipe the washing line and put the next load on. I've cleaned the non crystal chandelier in the south wing 'corridor' and replaced the light bulbs and the broken lampshade on the chandelier in the hall of the north wing where all our bedrooms are.

Going to bake cherry bakewell cake today, but need to buy some stirfry veg first I think. Made an absolutely delicious chicken and mushroom pie yesterday with leftover roast chicken. Used the stock from the bones. DH was most impressed and is going to demand it more frequently I think.

Got a facial at 3, so going to eat soup now, have a go at epilating legs and perhaps look over the ironing pile.

VoodooTheUnlikely · 29/04/2009 13:46

busy old Jenn takes it easy!!

FIL still in great pain, but they dont know why exactly till he has a scan today. He is an awful patient, I don't envy those nurses!!
Apparrently he is in next bed to a nutter alzheimers-type bloke who keeps nicking his food/newspapers/glasses

VoodooTheUnlikely · 29/04/2009 13:47

what is all this crapola re; swine flu?

my mum says she hopes she doesnt get it, it sounds very unglamorous

VoodooTheUnlikely · 29/04/2009 13:48

is it part bird part pig part human flu? why is it such a big deal as everyone seems to be recovering easily?

VoodooTheUnlikely · 29/04/2009 13:49

everyone who seems to have been to Mexico has caught it! Mexico must be swamped.
we honeymooned in Mexico. i wouldnt have been pleased to bring back an unglamorous bug and be blamed by the media for spreading it around the UK...

VoodooTheUnlikely · 29/04/2009 13:55

swine flu info

VoodooTheUnlikely · 29/04/2009 13:56

the unusual thing they don't understand is that it is affecting young people, not old.

VoodooTheUnlikely · 29/04/2009 13:57

23 month old died from it in Texas

Macdog · 29/04/2009 14:59

At least you don't have it over the border yet, mind you we've not been to Flakirk in 6 months - think we're safe

Macdog · 29/04/2009 15:00

so we all got told this morning that we are being issued with "special orange facemasks" that suck on to our faces properly (over my mouth and nose), levaing no gaps! thats scared me a bit, i dont want to be in contact with it, thankyou very much.

Is fil having a ct scan voodz? best thing, see it all at once, straight away.

ds2 loves justin apparently, i.e the spmething special on ceebeebies.

just planted up 10 lavanders. getting a summer house for the garden soon cant wait to fence the garden in half and have a child and dog free bit

Macdog · 29/04/2009 17:19
