quad - did you do the shoot on tues in a farm location? what agency are you with again?

altin well done on the job

goingtohaveagoodnightssleep · 12/03/2009 14:00

Well done on the jobs everyone.

puffling I have been getting lots of calls ofr dd1 age 7 and nothing for DS 9 months. Both with the same agency. Differnet age groups are busy at different times.

Whinegums No advice on scottish agencies I'm afraid. Your ds is gorgeous!

Haribosmummy · 12/03/2009 14:47

Ironically, my DS (also 9 months) has a couple of jobs coming up

Quadrophenia · 12/03/2009 16:12

yes job was on tuesday...i didn't take dd, we are with UA

julie4travel · 12/03/2009 17:07

quad - i cant send private messages on here, are you on netmums or napm and i can message you?

Quadrophenia · 12/03/2009 17:34

I am not on either I'm afraid, think my cat subscription may have run out will try and cat you

Housemum · 13/03/2009 09:51

Puffling - 2-3 years is a notoriously difficult age - they are out of the "baby" range, and not quite in the pre-schooler range. You notice this if you look at catalogues etc (If I get one in the post I look at the kids modelling before the clothes/toys they are selling nowadays!)

DD2 had loads of work between 11 mths (when she started) and 2.5, then nothing until nearly 4, since then she has had 3 or 4 jobs a year (she's nearly 6)

Mummyegg - think it was you asking about UAN - I know that Mamas and Papas do a lot in Manchester, could be good for your youngest, as DD3 did a Mamas & Papas job at 4 mths, and they said it was a shame we didn't live North of London as they were shooting in Manchester the following week, and they do a lot there. (Think it's quite close to their Head Office)

DD3 has just done M&S baby girls, DD2 had a casting yesterday for Tesco back-to-school - more of an interview than a casting, they just asked her questions, chatted to her, didn't take any pics. She also has a New Look casting Monday after school.

julie4travel · 13/03/2009 13:50

quad - never mind- i think i met your dd, if free trainers rings a bell to you then i think i know who she was.

whinegums · 13/03/2009 20:48

Thanks Goingto - I was looking at your pics on FB too, they are lovely!

So, has anyone here any thoughts/advice/experience of child modelling in Scotland?? Surely there must be some going on up here?!

Haribosmummy · 13/03/2009 21:40

My cousin's best friend does TV commercials and he's based in Edinburgh, but (AFAIK) he's still expected to travel a fair bit.. (he's 14YO)

But there are def. agencies in Scotland. Sorry not to be more help, Whinegums!

Quadrophenia · 13/03/2009 22:41

yes Julie that would have been her

julie4travel · 14/03/2009 09:12

whinegums - bk has a scottish agency i believe.

quad - my ds played with her on the slide

geordieminx · 14/03/2009 09:35

whinegums - ds is with the model team who are based in glasgow

whinegums · 14/03/2009 22:26

julie4travel - will check that with them, cheers. What's the general view of BK on here?

Geordieminx - we meet again! I've googled them - they look pukka. Did you pay any fee and has your DS had much work with them?

geordieminx · 17/03/2009 09:16

Whinegums, no start up fee, I just took ds along, they took some pics and accepted him. Honestly, very little work, but I think thats due to being up here - when I first went to see them they were honest and said most of the work is down sarf . They take 15% of any earnings

We had a casting just after xmas, and ds got the job he's here

gjhmum · 19/03/2009 11:13

Hi
My dd has been accepted by KL and I am suprised that they do not want to meet her. Is this normal?
We had yes from BK,R,SW,NC,ES. Not heard back from B&B, BG or AK. Not had any no's (yet!?). Do you think it is worth going with KL regardless? Any advice would be appreciated.

brooke77 · 19/03/2009 12:26

hi gjhmum.. my dd is with KL.. they dont have consultations before offering a place (as do some other agencies). Congrats on your dd being accepted.. they are supposed to be a very selective agency so your dd has done very well !

gjhmum · 19/03/2009 12:53

thanks brooke77. Do they just use the snapshots that I sent them then?
£35 for a Doctors letter! And thats with the form.
How old is your DD? Mine is 5.

Housemum · 19/03/2009 22:41

Cute pic geordieminx!

Hi gjhmum - my DD2's 5 as well (though nearly 6 now) - she's had a few jobs with B&B in the last year so hopefully it is a good age to be!

gjhmum · 20/03/2009 09:48

Hi Housemum - We've not heard back from B&B. I emailed on 7th March. Perhaps I should have posted the application. How long did you wait?

gjhmum · 20/03/2009 09:48

Housemum · 20/03/2009 13:12

It's a long time ago now - she joined about 2 - 3 years ago - but I think it was a couple of weeks? (e-mail application)

whinegums · 20/03/2009 14:48

Geordieminx, thanks for that (we've been away for a few days so sorry for the delay in replying). Great pic of your DS.

Can someone 'decode' the initials of the agencies please?! I know some of them, but not all! Cheers!

Housemum · 20/03/2009 21:09

B&B - Bruce & Brown
KL - Kids London
BK - Bizzy Kids
AK - Alphabet Kids
UA/UAN - Urban Angels/Urban Angels North
NC - Norrie Carr
