Never heard of them, the website is still under construction so am suprised such a new company has a client list. Would try an established agency.

ChocOrange05 · 23/09/2009 14:27

I am very excited, DS is super cute, I know I know I would say that, but he is!! Bonnie and Betty have also said yes but Truly Scrumptious need their eyes testing!!

I am very new to this but from reading the last few pages it seems you suggest we wait for feedback from all agencies before choosing one, as I guess you need to know if they are sole agency or not?

Does anyone know which are sole and which aren't?

Thanks!

julie4travel · 23/09/2009 20:53

sazzleevans - they represent twins mainly with a few children who arent twins. if you on napm i can get my friend with them to pm you.

chocorange5 - not many non sole rep ones nowadays bk, sandra reynolds, bma , ? guess chilli kids, bonnies agency i think are main ones. most agents are sole rep like kids london bruce brown alphabet kids etc. also never heard of new kids on street and never worked with them on jobs or even noticed them on casting sheets when i try to nose!

questions2008 · 06/10/2009 23:50

hiya, i'm new to child modelling as just sent in pics of DS to BabyShak to see what would happen and he was accepted.
Should I apply to others or should I go with them, I know they are quite reputable so not worried about that, but was wondering whether it's worth applying else where and if so which other agencies? Advice welcome. Thanks!

questions2008 · 08/10/2009 20:57

anyone?

Tinkerbel6 · 09/10/2009 12:40

Apply to other agencies and when you have heard back from them all then make a decion. There are other agencies that are better than babyshak, I think they only go up to aged 4 anyways, they are part of bizzykids so it would make more sence to go with bizzykids as they take children on up to adulthood.

nicky74 · 15/10/2009 09:05

anyone had any dealings with dimples model agency or eurokids,my 2 year old son has been offered a place on their books but i dont no anything about either of them or which to go with !!

haveabreak · 30/10/2009 20:46

Can anyone tell me if they have heard of Junior Model Management. They charge £120 whch includes a photoshoot. Does that seem really expensive? Would appreicate some insight

Totallyfloaty35 · 06/11/2009 08:54

My DD1 was with them, never had a single call, which is odd as she got calls from the agents she was with.Saying that, they do get the work as i know a few people whose kids have had jobs/castings with them.
Lots of child model agencies charge, its not like adult agencies where its all free.BUT there are busier cheaper agents out there such as KL, U/A,BB.

Disenchanted3 · 06/11/2009 09:00

HIYA

Can I ask you a few questions,

My sister (15) was stopped out shopping and asked to go to an event held by a modelling agency,

she was given a letter about where it was etc.
She went and it was packed,

she had a little interview then had 4 photos taken and was given another letter which stated amongst other things 'if we would like you on our books we will contact you within 2 weeks, we only contact a small percentage of people ' etc ...

4 days later she got a letter saying she had been chosen to go ont he books (a letter headed 2/11 - so were only 11 people chosen??)

Anyway they say she has to have some professional photos done for her portfolo- they will do them for her for £199 for hair make up wardrobe etc and then she has to pay photographer on top of this

Does this all sound right and legit?

we are clueless

the agency is Models North West

any advice appreciated

Disenchanted3 · 06/11/2009 09:06

They also say you are free do get your photos done elsewhere if you wish.

Totallyfloaty35 · 06/11/2009 14:48

Check with ALBA as to wether they a legit agency,i dont really know about northern agencies, but you dont usually pay for adult agencies, they arrange test shoots for FREE with photographers,hair/makeup etc.

becknsteve · 10/11/2009 13:07

Disenchanted, could 2/11 have been the date? Not sure how long ago this happened...

altin · 11/11/2009 17:32

Disenchanted 3:

"My sister (15) was stopped out shopping and asked to go to an event held by a modelling agency,"

That's your first red flag

"she had a little interview then had 4 photos taken and was given another letter which stated amongst other things 'if we would like you on our books we will contact you within 2 weeks, we only contact a small percentage of people ' etc ..."

Your second

"Anyway they say she has to have some professional photos done for her portfolo- they will do them for her for £199 for hair make up wardrobe etc and then she has to pay photographer on top of this"

third and biggest red flag.

The whole thing sounds like a scam. Those involved probably moonlighted under another name not so long ago. I'd run a mile if I were your sister.

Long time no post - Good luck to all with castings and jobs this month

haveabreak · 17/12/2009 20:44

Took advice from Totallyfloaty35 and decided to wait before I join JMM. They were charging £120 which I thought was extreme. I have since appied to Norrie Carr and they have come back to me and would like to see my son for an interview. Can anyone tell me if they are any good and what the structure of the interview will. Any advice given will be much appreciated.

Totallyfloaty35 · 23/12/2009 20:01

Norrie carr is good agency, they have a chat about industry while looking at your child, you ask questions, simples
Goodluck

E1mum · 13/08/2010 15:59

Be really careful of a company called Truly Scrumptious in Islington. They don't pay what they say they will, and they are really unpleasant to deal with. Very impersonal and treat your child like just a piece of meat. Would not bother with them ever again.

DoolallySally · 04/12/2010 06:17

Hey Ladies!

I just wanted to recommend an agency for anyone living in the South West, its a Bristol based agency called Gingersnap and is run by a successful ex-model called Clare Wilson.

I decided to put my 26 month old son forward a week ago, I didn't have to pay a penny and his photo was posted on their website the next day! A few days later I had a call to say that he has a casting for Cow&Gate!! Xmas Shock

They seem a really friendly, efficient company and best of all because its a local agency the likelihood of being called to London for a casting is slim, as I don't drive this is a godsend! Xmas Grin Should mention that they do have another office based in London for anybody interested in the South East.

I would recommend that if you are thinking of joining the agency to get some professional photos taken (head shot & full length) as I think the reason they don't charge any fees is because the parents supply the photos instead of the agency paying a photographer to take photos. Take a look at their website www.gingersnap.co.uk under Originals is the Childrens section, and look at the photos already posted on there for the style of photo they are after.

They also have a Facebook page which details their success stories and will sometimes advertise jobs they need models for.

I hope this helps someone Xmas Smile

jetagemum · 30/01/2011 15:14

koala888 · 02/02/2011 14:04

Thanks,Confused

Firawla · 04/02/2011 09:28

do u mean kids london? if so then both of those are known as good ones, personally would go KL out of those because i know people through them who have got work and i dont personally know anyone in bruce and brown although they are def a good and legit agency

jetagemum any of the london agencies should be fine for surrey?

allyfe · 04/02/2011 21:04

Bruce and Brown and Kids London are both excellent agencies.

We are with KL but haven't had much from them. But Bruce and Brown rejected us.

I'd say you should call and talk to both of them and see who you like best!

Good luck.
