Hi Guys

Can anyone help me. I applied to BS, ES Scallywags and childs play. BS and ES accepted and the other 2 asked to see my baby (7months) ES asked him to go to a jandj casting the day after I applied but we couldn't maake it as on hols for the shoot. Decided to go with babyshak but concerned I've make the wrong choice after seeing this thread. We went for a look book shoot but were only in there for about 1 minute and haven't heard anything else from them (although its only been a couple of weeks). As they are not sole agency should i be applying to other agencies? Thks for any help

if anyone is interested in having a look, my ds is in the next magazine. you can have a look online, he's the little one playing the drums and holding a guitar & a bucket with another little girl.
he's with UA.

Hi, I've got a very striking and photogenic DD aged 3 who was accepted by KL. I sent the bumf back about 6 weeks ago and have heard nothing at all. Is this odd? Would we be better with a different agency? Grateful for any thoughts!

altin · 01/06/2009 18:44

Good luck to all this month

BB replied to us about three months after KL took on dd and ds. I applied around the same time to both. BB are very good by all accounts but they're not the quickest in responding (obv).

slyandgobbo: I'd be patient with KL; your dd has been accepted by a v. good agency. It really depends on the type/regularity of work/money you're expecting. I really wished dd/ds had more regular catalogue work, as they both enjoy it and it pays a lot better than the high end stuff.

I wrote this a while back and someone got the wrong end of the stick, thought I was being patronising and snobbish when I said I couldn't understand why dd was good enough for Vogue but not good enough for Asda.

Believe me, I'd genuinely love dd/ds to get a string of Asdas and the like - they work hard for their money, so they should coin it while they can, imo (luckily they still enjoy it)and you've always got the memories, well paid or not - ex: dd is on the cover of Vogue Bambini this month (May/June)(if anyone's interested - she's on the right).

High end, low end - have a great month and good luck for castings and jobs everyone, (whichever end your kids are working ).

BB may have speeded up as we got a reply (a no) within 2 weeks. Unless they keep the possibles for ages but the nos come much quicker?

julie4travel · 01/06/2009 19:28

altin - big well done to your dd
we generally are the other way round getting the main stream stuff to the high fashion stuff LOL

to whoever was asking about bb it took my ds 3 half weeks to get a yes when he joined a few years back. i did apply my dd last year and never did get a reply, i gave up waiting in the end if i am honest.

good luck to all with castings etc. lets hope it stays busy with castings

slyandgobbo · 01/06/2009 20:24

Thanks altin, I think I imagined DD at the fashion-y end of things. She is quite dramatic looking. I just find it a bit odd with KL - they take the child on basis of photos, you send back a form and then don't hear anything. I don't particularly want her to have stacks of jobs (or any if it turns out she doesn't like it) but thought it might be fun for her to look back at the photos later on.

altin · 01/06/2009 20:38

I'd be amazed if KL don't get jobs for your dd, s&g. They keep the numbers low and barely charge a penny so they're not in the habit of taking on kids for charitable reasons. If your dd is dramatic/fashionista looking then don't expect something every 5 mins but you'll def end up with some wonderful souvenir pics for later years to look back on.

Good luck to you

julie: many thanks for your wishes. dd is not exactly inundated with work, so it's nice to see her get a good one when she's deemed worthy enough!

julie4travel · 01/06/2009 21:32

altin i could only dream of a vogue job
we dont get many photographic jobs prob about 3 a year, we seem to get more tv commercial castings in general

slyand gobbo - it generally takes a while to hear from an agent after joining, generally i would say we wait about 8 weeks if we are changing agent. some are lucky with sooner though! good luck, we have worked with kl kids on a few occasions and they do get high fashion jobs aswell as the more main stream stuff. i saw kl kids at burberry casting last month.

maxybrown · 02/06/2009 08:14

Hi guys, wondered if I could turn to you for advice on Child modelling agencies in Manchester please? Any advice would be great.

Totallyfloaty35 · 02/06/2009 20:43

anyone going to u/a on saturday?

julie4travel · 02/06/2009 20:55

maxybrown there is boss in manchester, have a look on albas website too for info

maxybrown · 03/06/2009 09:21

Hi Julie4travel, thanks I looked on Boss very briefly as had been on Alba! At least I was looking in right area.

When you go onto Boss now it says the kids have moved to realpeople4u. I am presuming I can email a pic of my DS & age etc and take it from there?

MABS · 03/06/2009 17:43

grumpalumpa · 05/06/2009 16:00

I'm sorry but how the hell did 5 month old Oliver "SIT IN A HIGH CHAIR AND EAT MUFFINS"!!!!

alexandre · 05/06/2009 17:00

I agree!

mum2twoboyz · 05/06/2009 20:54

that article is b*llox lol yes, at 5 months my ds2 would have easily sat in a high chair, but no way wud he eat muffins - partly cos i wudnt allow it - i mean, we only start weaning at that age - and thats with soft food - i wud have thought muffins proved a choking hazard!!!!!!!!!!!!!
rubbish and got to be made up!

alexandre · 06/06/2009 11:33

Don't know if it has changed but when DD was little it was also a gluten/wheat free diet until about 8 months.

allyfe · 09/06/2009 20:07

I know this is a bit of a strange question, but has anyone been rejected by NC - am worrying they may accept lots and dd not really model material. I think she is gorgeous but she is perhaps more adorable than beautiful - she is 3 months. Thanks!!

Totallyfloaty35 · 10/06/2009 17:25

yes all my kids got turnt down by nc,even though kl,bb,u/a etc said yes.I know of a fair few people who have been turned down, they are a very selective agency

allyfe · 10/06/2009 18:15

Thanks for replying She has just been accepted by KL - I was going to go with them but you have got me thinking now. I've been told nc are good for babies, but also believe kl are ecellent. Who did you go with Totallyfloaty...

MABS · 11/06/2009 08:32

up to UA on Sat, anyone been recently? what should i expect for 14 yr old dd?

pureeandpearls · 11/06/2009 09:32

We're with UA on Friday so will miss you but DD is only one, so can't imagine your DC would have a lot in common MABS
