Hi all

Glad to hear so many of you here have been getting lots of success with the modelling agencies.

So far my dd has had a yes from BK and ES. Bonnie and Betty have responded and offered an assessment.

Due to KL wanting pics via post I havent gotten round to applying.

2 questions really:- is there anyone with ES, i dont seem to hear thrm mentioned too often here so not sure what to do do about their offer.

And if applying by post do KL how long do they take to reply.

cacahuete · 23/05/2009 07:58

thx totallyfloaty...think will go for KL...

chelle14..KL only took couple days to reply, good luck and let me know how u get on.

Looks like there s no assessment for KL or am I wrong?..anyone out there had jobs with KL???..can you tell me ur experiences pls?thx

oliverboliverbutt · 23/05/2009 08:34

cacahuete go for KL.

oliverboliverbutt · 23/05/2009 08:42

So is there anyone on here that is currently on an agency's books? How are things going?
My 4 year old son has been getting lots of castings and some straight work, not so much for my dd (7) who is much more suited to the work.
My son had a casting for an alan carr commercial recently and he just hates tv castings, wouldn't even look a the people. I'm going to stop taking him to them since there seems to be no point. He does like having his photograph taken though.
Wish my dd was getting the castings since she LOVES it all.

Do any of you have children on the books who don't like it?
My dd started out first, and she has always loved it. UA wanted my ds when we went in with her for the consult so I signed him up.
He gets a lot of work but he's really not that into it.
I've always maintained that if they don't like it I won't make them do it. I have seen so many mums pushing their kids at these castings and they so obviously hate it.
it's the worst part of it for me. yuck.
Other than the ££ I can put away for his future, I'm not so sure I will keep him on the books.
Anyone else feel this way sometimes?

MABS · 24/05/2009 12:27

going to Storm on Friday x

sdiana91 · 25/05/2009 15:04

I'm new here.. what are these abbreviations?
KL,U/A, TS,SW, ,JMM,CM??

Thanks!

Luce2006 · 28/05/2009 15:15

A word of warning for the mums waiting to get an assessment with UA: they are NOT offering assessment to kids who are already with an agent and are hoping to swap.
A friend of mine had her little girl booked in for the assessment but then she had it cancelled after she replied to their question 'is she already with an agent?' with Yes.

brooke77 · 29/05/2009 08:01

Mmm... that seems a bt unfair.. had she explained that she would be happy to leave the other agent if offered a place with UA?

Luce2006 · 29/05/2009 08:27

Hi Brooke
She explained to them that she joined the other agent because she missed the November intake and that ,if accepted, was more than happy to leave her current agent but they didn't change their mind.
What I find very unfair is that they booked her DD in for the assessment first and then only after they asked her the question and withdrew the offer.

alexandre · 29/05/2009 08:52

Hello again.
I have a question for those of you who are registered and work quite regularly. Do you expect to be able to take your other children with you when you go to a job (not casting but actual job)?

chelle14 · 29/05/2009 09:58

Hi all

Hi cacahuete, thx for reply. Would you believe stil have not got round to applying to KL. How is it going for you??

Alexandre, thats an interesting question would like to hear others' response to this. I have no experience of either a casting or job yet so would be good to know for future reference.
But thinking about it if you have maybe 3 children turn up for a job then they each have 2 or 3 siblings, say under 7 then it may get a bit hectic. But hey am a newbie to all this so jus speculating.

Good luck to all for castings and jobs.

Totallyfloaty35 · 29/05/2009 11:15

Kids taken with you to jobs is frowned upon, unless you have a young one you breast feeding or something, obviously sometimes you have no choice but to take a sibling but they dont like it.

alexandre · 29/05/2009 15:23

Thanks Totallyfloaty35 - that's what I thought.

Bettymum · 29/05/2009 15:41

Hello,
Have just come across this thread, hope you don't mind me joining in. My DD has been with Lil Devils (in Reading) since September and has had no work at all. Does anyone know if their kids get much work or are things just slow at the moment? She's now 16 months.

brooke77 · 29/05/2009 17:05

Yes, agree with totally... one child one adult and no others is the general rule ! But most shoots I've been to the people are very nice and I'm sure would understand if you are really stuck.. its your children afterall, cant leave them with just anyone !!

Luce.. hope your friend wasnt too upset with this, at least they checked b4 she came for consultation.. i would imagine UA have their reasons for not invited those who are already with an agency, but I agree would have been fairer if they had asked b4 booking her in.

Hi Bettymum and welcome to the thread. I dont know Lil Devils, but as far as castings/jobs its often a sporadic thing and different with all agencies/kids/times of the year etc. Its a very difficult thing to gauge.. why dont you call your agency and see how things are their end and if there has been any interest in your dd and if they are getting work in general for her age group. Around 18 mths -3 yrs work often dips as toddlers are seen as a tricky age to work with.

Thanks Brooke77. It's a long story I won't bore you with but just wanted to see what was the norm.

Totallyfloaty35 · 30/05/2009 00:05

Mabs how was Storm?

MABS · 30/05/2009 18:11

thanks for asking Totallyfloaty, went ysdy and storm said they want her under contract in Nov!! did test shot, and said yes! just want 6 months more growth, maturity. She and i are totally shocked, but she going to do some chi;d modelling til then.

Thanks for remembering, Storm was just like Ugly Betty!!! xx

Totallyfloaty35 · 30/05/2009 19:16

well done they are a fantastic agency and really look after their models. My dd1 very jealous as they told her she had to be another2- 3 inches taller before they could accept her but they liked her look, she has to apply again when she 15 to see if she grown enough.Personally dont think she will get tall enough as her growth slowing down an she only 5ft4in now.

MABS · 30/05/2009 22:10

aaahh totallyfloat, how tall are you? my dd is nearly 5'7 at the mo, but i am taller and dh over 6ft so think she will grow.didnt you think Storm was just like UglyBetty??!!

When is yr dd 15? mine v early next yr.

Totallyfloaty35 · 30/05/2009 23:41

im just over 5ft2 but dh is 6ft,it looks like dd1 might make it to 5ft5 but dd2 is gonna be tall, she already in 13yr clothing an she only 11.DD1 is not 15 til this time next yr.
Most of the big London agencies are very ugly betty and mad busy all the time, its great fun to watch.
What child agency are you joining in the meantime?KL are very high fashion.

MABS · 31/05/2009 10:12

we see UA next week so won't decide till after that. Who is yr dd with? who best in yr opinion?

Totallyfloaty35 · 31/05/2009 19:16

well elder dds are with bk/mot ,toddler dd is with u/a.U/A fantastic client list and do lots of high end jobs, but so do KL and Bruce brown.
MOT/BK do more mainstream and tv work. You do sign a years contract with u/a though and if she is accepted by u/a as im sure she will be,her page wont be up and running til about July as u/a application process quite long. But they a friendly agency an fussy about who they take.

MABS · 31/05/2009 19:34

thanks Totallffloaty, we will see what happens at u/a, may not accept her. BB never replied, is that usual?
