Sorry, you have secondaries, in the bones and in the liver.

The total fucker is, because he takes aspirin(some equivalent)he can not have a biopsy for three weeks until his blood regulates.

So until then, we have no chemo session times, ergo, I can not arrange to go to Dublin once a month, to allow my DS(7) to ram his memory banks full of his Grandad.

I feel helpless and useless and utterly devoid of power(wrong word)

Glad to hear there's an innocent explanation for your absence .

Sounds like an action packed weekend - am sure you'll have a blast tonight .

When is the Communion, Bree? Are they in May in the UK as well?

BreevandercampLGJ · 02/11/2008 16:47

Chip

It is in June, which is just as well as DNeice will be in May in Ireland.

better chance of good weather, then. My ds1 is making his Confirmation this year! I can't believe I'm old enough for that!

BreevandercampLGJ · 05/11/2008 19:34

Well seven days on and no further forward.

The news is confusing, my Mum said that the biopsy results were not back. Yet when I rang my brother he had taken from his conversation with Mum that some of them were back and they wanted to do more tests.

I couldn't quiz her about it, as she was really tired and Dad was being quite calm about the whole thing. So whilst she could be inwardly seeting, she is taking her lead from him for now. She was in my sisters for dinner and all she wanted to do was sit down for her dinner with a large glass of red.

Will keep you informed.

Thanks for caring.

Any further news Bree?

BreevandercampLGJ · 12/11/2008 19:47

Well............. lets play the bad news, good news game.

The bad news, he is still terminal.

The good news is... his consultant reckons we are in the very early days, he offered Dad the option of chemotherapy or not taking it for now and remaining well.

Whilst the decision is my Dads, we are not a family for nowt, we all concur that he should avoid the toxic cocktail until it is required.

So on that basis, they are off to Prague at the beginning of December for the Christmas markets, then here to me for Christmas.

So, whilst the prognosis has not changed, the time line appears to be a bit more fluid.

My darling Dad is still going to die, but we are going to have a Christmas that is not overloaded with worries about Chemo, and little people with coughs and colds.

Merry Christmas Bree

Just been home, for the weekend.

He looks mighty.

A bit thinner, than I would like but looks very healthy.

Based on what I saw this weekend, I would feel cheated if we don't get at least 6-9 months. But cancer has it's own agenda.
