Thought I'd start a new thread as the other was getting a bit long!

Now where were we?

Following on from the "I'm a domestic slut" thread I've just found out on the other place that I should be washing my nappies at at least 60 degrees. Someone please tell me that I'm not the only one who doesn't!

Girly · 29/04/2003 11:00

ooohh Demented just had a peek at that Minki, it is cute! Sorry could not resist!

Tissy, I wash mine at 60 but then I am a bit of a laundry freek!

Girly, yes it is v cute isn't it, I'm still trying to resist temptation.

Sorry Tissy!... i wash mine at 60... (dunno how to do degree sign!) but i am a domestic slut as i think i have a bucket of naps that i've forgotton to wash... leftover from the weekend!! (dd doesn't wear cloth naps when at nursery)

KeepingMum · 29/04/2003 15:41

Don't worry Tissy, I used to just put mine through the rinse cycle so they were probably being 'washed' at about 4 degrees. The sun used to bleach out all those stains so they looked good as new when they came off the line (in the summer anyway). Every so often when I think they still smell of ammonia even after a rinse I do a load at 60.

Yuck, yuck, yuck! Is all I can say about the nappies we've had today. I knew it was a mistake to give DS2 a fishfinger and beans followed by a kiwi fruit especially when he is teething and hadn't filled a nappy for about 36 hours previous. I'll leave the rest to your imagination! Hopefully tomorrow the solids will just be falling off the fleece again!

Poor you! I hate sticky poos... how does everyone cope with them??? last time i resorted to giving it a scrub with the loo brush...yuck! and i join you in the yuckiness Demented!!!!

Tissy · 30/04/2003 09:16

Thanks, Keepingmum, I was worried for a while that I was the only nappy slut around!!

lou33 · 30/04/2003 09:21

Sticky poos get passed to dh to deal with in this house.

susanmt · 30/04/2003 11:16

Help! Have just remembered that I havent done a nappy wash (at 60 or otherwise) since the weekend !!! ((slinks off to domestic slut thread))

KeepingMum · 30/04/2003 12:10

Susanmt, you only need to worry when you go away for a 2 week holiday in the summer and realise half way through that you forgot to empty the nappy buckets before you left - gas masks were needed to get into the bathroom when we got home.

Girly · 30/04/2003 12:24

When the poo's are just awful I stick the power shower on it and then if I remember pour some bleach down the plug hole after. Gets it off a treat!

but i might!!!!...

DebL · 30/04/2003 13:12

sticky poos - leave to dry out for an hour or so then roll up the fleece like a dusky cuban maiden rolling a havana cigar.....................

DebL · 30/04/2003 13:14

..............and then soak or wash at 60.

Why is so much baby food (and thence poo) orange???????
