...... do you realise we've been chatting now for almost 18months .

Berrie, thankyou for the very kind offer to mug your children. It's much appreciated .
Tbh the car only cost £150 last year so it's reached the end of it's days I'm afraid - we need to get another one.

I know the feeling though - I think I've done really well at the shops sometimes, but try as I might I can't get it below £100 a week. Must Try Harder.

Morning!
Who is Christopher cazerwhateveritwas?

We had a computer free weekend. Ds is spending far too long on it playing games at the moment and it only seemed fair that if he couln't go on, we couldn't. I think dh cheated and checked the weather yesterday afternoon while I was asleep on the sofa though!

What's on this week then? I'm being observed on Wednesday by the DCSF probably to see if I'm good enough for this blimmin' dvd so feeling a little stressed.

LyraSeveredtongue · 06/10/2008 09:55

I remember Christopher Cazenove.
Busy week here - packing, packing, packing. And finding a builder, hiring a skip, trying to find a cheap washing machine and dishwasher, booking a floor sander, getting quotes for a cleaning firm to come in once we've moved our stuff out, tidying up tip house after busy weekend.
Sigh.

oggsfrog · 06/10/2008 10:02

All exciting stuff Lyra . So you're moving when?

I too remember Christopher Cazanove... sort of.

I've finally got an appointment through with a podiatrist to see if anything to do with the way I walk is affecting my already bad knee. It's tomorrow , and would you bloody believe it I was leading our pony yesterday when he reared up and fell over. My foot is killing me. I don't think he actually stood on it (all happened so quickly), but I've twisted it or something so I'm hobbling around .
I'm not cancelling the appt as it's taken well over 6 months to come through.

Some rumours around that Lee will be doing a touring Jesus Christ Superstar after he finishes Joseph....

Oh oh oh!!!

I LOVE JCS !

Sorry about your foot Oggs.

ZebsRoomofHerOwn · 06/10/2008 10:33

Ooooh! JCS. Bring it on! Shall we all go together, wherever he ends up? I've also just booked Cinderella for DS at Christmas. We don't know which ex-soap Z-lister will be starring in it alongside some washed up comedian from the 70s, but I'm sure it'll be fun anyway.

And this week: I have date no 2 tonight!!!!!! He was away for the w/e but called me last night, and as I'm busy Tuesday (mate round for dinner), Thursday (visiting boss and her new baby) and Friday (girls night out), and he's busy Wednesday, that was the only option. He's cooking, so I'll get to do a KirstieandPhil on his gaff. Out come the Bridget Joneses again.

Oggs, I hope your foot gets better. Berrie - you'll be totally fine. Lyra, it'll all be worth it in the end.....

Berrie · 06/10/2008 11:03

Things move fast with you Zeb? Any kissy kissy tonight?

Berrie · 06/10/2008 11:05

Don't believe I just wrote that!

ZebsRoomofHerOwn · 06/10/2008 11:17

I'm not sure. We'll see. But like I said, I'll be in my Bridget Jones specials to hide the baby belly. And it IS only Monday after all.... however, I will make sure I clean my teeth and floss prior to leaving home.

Berrie · 06/10/2008 12:13

Good thinking!

Berrie · 06/10/2008 14:48

Going to work tonight so have a lovely time Zeb and be here early to tell us all the details!!!

ZebsRoomofHerOwn · 07/10/2008 00:17

What a happy Zebs!! Amazing evening. I feel like a schoolgirl Don't worry, no hanky panky, I was a good girl and came home. Despite much temptation. (Not to mention the Bridget Jones's!)

Hopefully another date on Thursday if I can wangle things with what I'm supposed to be doing.

oggsfrog · 07/10/2008 07:26

Wow! another date on Thursday

So c'mon, c'mon, how did it go?
What did you eat?
Does he really have the-real-deal, genuiiiiiine floors ?

OP posts:
ZebsRoomofHerOwn · 07/10/2008 09:14

Yep, real floors. Carpets, tiles (tesalated in the hallway, donchaknow), goodness, it even had curtains and painted walls and everything!!!

We ate his home made cottage pie (very tasty) and an apple and pear tart he also made. Again, very nice. I impressed him with my South African port.

Again, we just talked and talked and talked. We actually know quite a lot of the same people - Cornwall isn't really that big, particularly in the 'business community' - and he has been at at least one of the meetings I've been attending, so there you go!

Then, ahem, a lot of serious snogging on the sofa like a teenager. But I was a very good girl and did go home.....eventually....

Hopefully I can do Thursday, but that depends what time I leave my boss with the baby, but I don't think it'll be that late.

Berrie · 07/10/2008 09:20

Oooo Zeb you rascal you!

Tee hee hee and who said this wasn't an exciting thread.

Have to go, dd demands rather urgently that I go and play campervans with her. I really want a real one so I bought a playmobil one for her birthday as a stopgap!

Back later for more details!

ZebsRoomofHerOwn · 07/10/2008 16:41

So how was the camper van? Did you buy tickets for Glastonbury too?!
All quiet today, I'm afraid. But I am still in a good mood. Drinks tonight with the woman who put me up to this in the first place. Oh dear

Berrie · 08/10/2008 09:31

Oh dear the camper van didn't go too well. There is a family of four inside. DD insists that there are 2 Mummies and no Daddy because he's at work and anyway she doesn't like Daddy. She has refused to hug her real Daddy for ages and it's all rather upsetting. I'm not sure what I can do about it.
I have not been to Glastonbury since I became a teacher. (term time) I've never fancied it with kids though I'm hoping to go to a smaller festival with them sometime.
Is your date tonight Zeb?

ZebsRoomofHerOwn · 08/10/2008 10:22

Oh Berrie. It's awful when you hear that stuff from your kids. How old is DD? It's probably just a phase - how much does she see of him? Is he away a lot? DS went through that phase (he's 3), but now he's spending so much more time with him, he's over it and mostly ok. I hope it works out ok.

Sorry, no date this week after all. It's a case of us both being busy, so hopefully next week. But hey, it's just as well - shall we just say that next week might be a better time of the month.

oggsfrog · 08/10/2008 10:28

Zeb I take it that he meets with approval then?
What's not to like though....jungle book, floors, cottage pie and apple and pear tart. Sounds like a good 'un.

Berrie, sorry you are in an awkward phase with dd . I'm sure it is just that, a phase, though. Is dh home in time to see her before bedtime usually?

oggsfrog · 08/10/2008 11:00

I take it you won't be wearing your spanx for your next date madam?

OP posts:
Berrie · 08/10/2008 11:23

Dd is just 3. Dh does get home in good time but then I have to rush out to work leaving him to do tea time and bed time often visiting his elderly Dad too rather than actually sit down and do somthing with her. I think he can a bit short tempered with her too and the change between me and him can be a bit of a shock I think. If he asks why she won't give him a hug she comes right out and says, 'because I don't like you.'

Dh knows he needs to spend more time with her but it's hard when she doesn't actually want to.

LyraSeveredtongue · 08/10/2008 17:15

Been up to my eyes in house sorting this week, last minute probs with mortgage now ironed out, packing under way, house in chaos but looking forward to getting the keys to the new one on Friday. Woohoo!
Worst has been trying to switch our phone service over. Tiscali say I need to speak to BT, BT say I need to speak to Tiscali. I still haven't got to the bottom of it, despite spending 20 minutes at a time on hold on an 0871 number
On the bright side, this time next week we'll be in our new home (and up to our eyes in renovations). Man, I'm knackered...
