...... do you realise we've been chatting now for almost 18months .

Berrie, thankyou for the very kind offer to mug your children. It's much appreciated .
Tbh the car only cost £150 last year so it's reached the end of it's days I'm afraid - we need to get another one.

I know the feeling though - I think I've done really well at the shops sometimes, but try as I might I can't get it below £100 a week. Must Try Harder.

Lyra, no, I didn't try the Day Nurse and yes, the wine cure is not a good idea. It made me feel 10x worse. Banging head pain gone now and am left with heavy congestion and cough. Have the boys rec'd their invitations from Father Christmas yet?

Berrie, you could strew rushes, straw or meadowsweet on your floor á la medieval times (also opens up the possibility of wench and lord role play type games if you and Mr Berrie are into those kind of things Isn't it his birthday soon? )
When is dd's birthday?

Zeb, does your toy boy look anything like Hugh? Proposed outfit sounds spot on. You do realise we'll be wanting a blow by blow account of the event .

Berrie, if you did go for tiles you could get electric underfloor heating put in. We have this in our kitchen and it made the tiles really toasty underfoot. I think it's fairly cheap to buy a system from Wickes etc.

LyraSilvertongue · 01/10/2008 17:21

Yes Oggs, the postcard from Santa came the other day. They've been showing it to everyone.

ZebsRoomofHerOwn · 01/10/2008 17:46

So they didn't say 'nah, don't fancy that' then?

Oggs, I think your flu is having a very strange effect on you. Are you on the way to recovery yet?

And sadly, no, my toyboy has not the slightest resemblance to Hugh

As for the floor Berrie, why don't you chop down a few trees and make them into planks? Just a thought.

Berrie · 02/10/2008 09:26

Good idea Zeb!

Oggs, your senario is tempting but you forget it is a conservaory hence lots of windows for the neighbours to look in.

I think that underfloor heating would have had to have gone in before the concrete, it's too high up now.

It's bloody freezing in there...

Berrie · 02/10/2008 09:26

Zeb...I can't wait to hear about your date tomorrow!!!

LyraSilvertongue · 02/10/2008 11:00

No, it goes on top of the concrete. It's a series of wires which you stick down with duck tape, then the tiles go directly on top.

ZebsRoomofHerOwn · 02/10/2008 11:55

I've now spoken to my toyboy. He sounds very sweet and charming and lovely. He also sounds just my type, which is a little worrying since I married 'my type' last time.
The good news is we're meeting at 9pm in a swanky bar, so that means fab lighting to hide the crows feet and bags! However, as it's so late, I also have loads of time for a bath, a facepack and a good buff and brush up.

Berrie, can't you beg borrow and steal some rugs for the floor? I'd also suggest curtains.

Oggs, are you better yet or still having odd flights of fancy about the uses for Berrie's conservatory?

Berrie · 02/10/2008 11:59

Does Dh know Zeb?
How would you feel if dh had a date?

Berrie scuttles off to Wickes website...

oggsfrog · 02/10/2008 12:04

Feeling much better now thanks Zeb. Still bunged up but strange wooziness has gone.
Ooh, I'm all excited on your behalf, but 9pm! That's far too late. I'm in bed by 10. Pff!

Berrie, how well do you know your neighbours? They might enjoy the diversion. There seems to be bugger all on the tv

OP posts:
ZebsRoomofHerOwn · 02/10/2008 12:20

I'm normally in bed by 8.30pm with my cocoa!
No, DH does not know. I don't see any reason he has to know until such time as any beau is ready to meet DS. Crikey - it's all a massive responsibility.

If it were him I'd feel a bit weird, but also delighted for him, I really would, given the tough year he's having.

Berrie · 02/10/2008 13:21

You are so nice!

I don't think that me and Dh cavorting around the conservatory naked would be very entertaining. Anyway...it's far too cold!

Oh I see Lyra. I thought you mean underfloor heating rather than tile warming. I think it might be rather expensive to run for us but good thought. The consevetory is 20M2 so a large area to buy for too.

DD's 3rd B'day was on Sunday Oggs. She had a brilliant time prancing round as a Princess. Photos on the blog.

LyraSilvertongue · 02/10/2008 13:41

Wow, that's big berrie. You'll have so much space!

Berrie · 02/10/2008 17:42

I know

Oooooo...not long to go now for Zeb!

ZebsRoomofHerOwn · 02/10/2008 19:39

I know. I'm all washed and buffed and looking gorgeous And I'm leaving in second - we brought the time forward. Don't worry, I'll report in some time.....

oggsfrog · 02/10/2008 20:09

Have a great evening

OP posts:
ZebsRoomofHerOwn · 03/10/2008 00:52

OK, I'm back.
Great evening. He's really sweet and likes musical theatre. He laughed at my Jospeh keyring and I blamed it on my boss, but hey! First date - "I had a crush on Lee Mead" is not a good line. But he was really really sweet. We laughed a lot, talked business and politics (I know.. but it's my thing). He came back here and he loves the Jungle Book, so that cd came out. He's already texted me twice to say what an enjoyable evening it was and wants to see me again. I've texted as well.

The lust juices weren't necessarily working, but it was so very comfortable. Like old friends. And phyiscally he's a cross between DH, the ex from hell and another friend where there's a spark but nothing's ever happened. Hmm, not sure what that means.

But I'm happy. Errr. And drunk.

oggsfrog · 03/10/2008 07:52

Aw, it sounds like you had a brilliant time - I'm so glad it went well for you.
Dismayed about your betrayal of Lee , didn't you say he was a fan of musicals?
He appears to be a man of good taste - Jungle Book always the dvd of choice for a first date I find .

Sooooo.... when you seeing him again?

OP posts:
Berrie · 03/10/2008 09:25

Tee hee Zeb, glad you had such a good evening! You hussy you, inviting him back on the first date. So did you kiss him...or anything else?

ZebsRoomofHerOwn · 03/10/2008 09:45

No. No kissing. Or anything else. Just a chaste peck on the check thank you. What kind of a girl do you think I am?

I'm not sure when I'm seeing him again as he's away this weekend and I have DS. Then next week I'm pretty busy, but hopefully we'll be able to organise something.

ZebsRoomofHerOwn · 03/10/2008 09:51

I meant cheek, obviously.

Forgot to say, in purely materialistic terms, he's a partner in the family accountancy firm, he lives on my favourite street in Truro in a Grade II listed house (I've checked, I believe it even has floors!!!!), he drives an Audi (just like mine) and he has a cellar full of wine and port. What more do I need to know?!

oggsfrog · 03/10/2008 10:01

Wow, it gets better and better... likes musicals, jungle book and fine wine and his house has actual bonafide floors! Snap him up Zeb
Does ds stay with dh during the week?

OP posts:
ZebsRoomofHerOwn · 03/10/2008 10:06

I know. What's not to like?

Yes, at the moment DS is with DH as he's no longer at nursery - he got booted out cos DH didn't pay the bill. We're now looking at the local pre-school, which is actually very good, with DS going mornings only. There are also a handful of local children around who also go there, so it's not such a bad idea.

It's a bit weird though, as I'll be the parent that only seems him at weekends for the moment, but it makes sense.

ZebsRoomofHerOwn · 05/10/2008 09:34

What did I say? Did I scare you all off?
I also forgot to mention, his uncle is Christopher Cazenove. Remember him?

oggsfrog · 05/10/2008 10:09

Hello . Not scared away, just very busy and feeling the need to cut down on the amount of time I spend on here.

I've decided to hide most topics and limit my time.
We're really skint at the moment and have a garden full of veg that are rotting in the ground. We're looking into ways of saving money and economising (as I suppose a lot of people are). We also need to organise for the winter and stock up on food.

I've been spending far, far too much on the weekly shop and want to get it down to a fortnightly one - the new car costs more to run and the round trip to the supermarket is over 50 miles. I already clock up almost 40 miles a day taking dd to school so need to reduce mileage in other respects.

I'm off now to harvest carrots, onions, potatoes, swedes, sprouts and beans.
