...... do you realise we've been chatting now for almost 18months .

Berrie, thankyou for the very kind offer to mug your children. It's much appreciated .
Tbh the car only cost £150 last year so it's reached the end of it's days I'm afraid - we need to get another one.

I know the feeling though - I think I've done really well at the shops sometimes, but try as I might I can't get it below £100 a week. Must Try Harder.

Tee hee

ZebsRoomofHerOwn · 16/02/2009 20:08

Why don't you make him book it for you? Or is that a really bad idea?

And I've made the decision on the house. I dragged 2 friends with me to see it, and I'm going for the brand new one, which is huge and shiny. I need to confirm the moving date tomorrow, then I shall start hunting down boxes and packing!

Berrie · 16/02/2009 20:09

How exciting!

Berrie · 16/02/2009 20:18

Oooh have some hits on my holiday threads (thanks Lyra) but dh is moaning wanting to start dvd...

ProfessorCalculus · 16/02/2009 20:25

Good choice on the house. Can we see pics? Is it advertised online?
Would never let DP book the holiday Zeb - he'd only cock it up.

oggsdog · 16/02/2009 20:25

Ooh Lyra, I never thought there might be an early tv version of Just William.
I have an image of him in my head and it's definitely not the more recent tv version. Do you have a link?

Zeb, how very exciting . Will it be soon? How did dh and ds feel about that one?

Berrie, Star Trek? I'm just off to watch a dvd with Nicholas Cage, Julianne Moore and Jessica Biel...can't remember what it's called.
Hope you're back feels better tomorrow.

ProfessorCalculus · 16/02/2009 20:30

Doh, sorry Oggs, it was Just Dennis, early Dennis the Menace

ZebsRoomofHerOwn · 16/02/2009 20:32

Sorry, the house isn't online anywhere, I just checked. But moving date will be mid-March, early April at the latest.

What dvd are you watching Berrie, and is it more interesting than planning a holiday?

Berrie · 16/02/2009 21:07

The new Battle Star Gallactica...let's just say one has to give and take in a relationship.

ProfessorCalculus · 16/02/2009 22:38

Berrie, I bought Twilight today - it is you who's read it/seen it isn't it? Is it any good?
I also bought Slumdog Millionaire and The Brutal Art. Anyone read any of them?

Berrie · 17/02/2009 07:39

The book or the dvd? It's certainly for teeagers but I really enjoyed it! I bought the next 3 books.

oggsdog · 17/02/2009 09:03

Morning

Just noticed glaring your you're error in my last post .

Will be spending the day cooking soup, cleaning, tidying, washing (yay! we once again have water ) and trying to keep dd amused.

Berrie · 17/02/2009 09:32

Missed it.
Spending the day on the sofa.

ZebsRoomofHerOwn · 17/02/2009 11:08

What kinda soup?

Berrie · 17/02/2009 11:36

Can I have some soup. Is there some nice bread too?
(From the sofa, feeling sorry for my self because painkillers have worn off and am regretting cleaning around kitchen ranting to self about why dh can't just finish the job properly and thinks he's done a good job when all he's done is empty and load the dishwasher and clean a couple of pots)

oggsdog · 17/02/2009 12:28
ZebsRoomofHerOwn · 17/02/2009 13:09

I gave up waiting. Egg mayo sarnies instead.

Berrie · 17/02/2009 13:23

Me too, dh came home and made us all a cheese sandwich.

Berrie · 17/02/2009 13:25

Would rather have had soup and egg mayo sandwich...,

Berrie · 17/02/2009 13:27

Had cunning plan though...got dh to pull sofa away from radiator and make dc a tent. I can no longer see them and the usual tent mess ( toys to play with in there, books to read, fruit for the middle of the night, all of their bedding, cushions etc)

Bless...he's reading her a story.

oggsdog · 17/02/2009 20:29

Bloody hell. You lot eat lunch early.

There I am at 12:30 offering home-made soup and fresh crusty bread and you piggy lot couldn't wait. Tsk. Hmph.

Great idea Berrie. Bit worried though, did you intend keeping them in there all day and night, what with providing them with fruit for the middle of the night in the middle of the day?

Berrie · 18/02/2009 08:20

Tee hee, you should see the junk they've got behind there. All dragged there themselves, nothing to do with me.

Dh and I are getting on badly. It's always the same when my back goes. I just want him to do useful stuff like make our lunch for the next day and tidy up the spaces I or any visitors have to see and he does jobs like putting the clothes away instead. Who cares about the effing clothes? Then I sound a bit cross because I point out that putting away clothes that need ironing actually makes things harder, then he takes huge offence, then we hardly speak for the next couple of hours.
It's the dc I feel sorry for, I wanted to do nice things with them this holiday.

oggsdog · 18/02/2009 10:19

There must be something in the air Berrie, dh and I have been having a bad couple of days.
He's stressed about things (totally understandable at the moment) but I get pissed off with the way he handles it.

It doesn't help that dd is still bad. She still wasn't asleep at 10pm and was crying because she had something in her eye.
Then she woke me at 12ish and I gave her some calpol.
Then she was tapping on the door again, crying at 2pm so I got in bed with her. She was coughing and snuffling so sleep didn't come easily.
Then the dog came in whining 'cos she wanted to go out for a wee (unusual but I have noticed she's been drinking a lot more water than usual. Something else to worry about)
Then it's morning. Sheesh!

Would it help if you made a list of things that dh could help with if he has the time - in order of priority?

I can sympathise.
Dh can spot the one thing I haven't managed to get around to whilst completely ignoring the fact that I haven't had time because I've been making the bed (that he is always last out of), picking up his socks and pants from random places, wiping the sodding crumbs off the sodding breadboard (pet hate) from when he had sodding late night snacks , picking up the wrappers from other late night snacks, bringing out the empty and half empty cups and glasses and plates that he has left lying around, and that's before I start on the detritus that dd has donated to my workload.

Aaaarrrrggggghhhhhhh!!!

I seem to spend my whole life playing catch up and never being on top of anything.

Aaarrrrgggghhhhhh!!!

and breathe..........
