Bettys, Enid et al - don't forget she's back at eight.

That was a very uncomfortable and completely unrealistic sex scene to watch. Cordelia and Conner as if! But dosen't Angel look old now compared to Conner. The forever youthful vampire has alot of wrinkles. David Borenz?!? is a bit too old for me but I still need a reason to watch so to my horror I found myself seeing Conner in a Justin Timberlake like haze. I feel that I need to get this off my chest as I think it could classify as a perversion. Two weeks ago I was telling my husband what an ugly kid they'd found for that part. God damn pregnancy hormones!

Bekki · 07/03/2003 21:31

I just checked out the Angel site. The guy who plays Conner is actually two years older than me, thank god! I don't have to hand myself over to the police.

nerdgirl · 07/03/2003 22:04

Oh God! I feel old! I'm thirty three and Conor being ten years my junior looks like a baby!

I think I'll go watch a episode from series 1!

Bekki · 07/03/2003 22:12

Don't worry he does look like a baby, puberty very nearly missed him out. Angel did look gorgeous in the first series of Buffy, but he has aged and I agree he has got a bit podgy recently.

Bekki · 07/03/2003 22:31

Nerdgirl I was just reading back a few postings and the latest is that James Marsters is not gay? Can I go back to fancying him again now?

willow2 · 07/03/2003 23:24

Angel in 1st Buffy series was just too much to cope with.

OP posts:
nerdgirl · 08/03/2003 10:49

Bekki, I am pleased to assure you that our James is definitely NOT gay! Shame on anyone for suggesting it. The net is full of pictures of him and his various girlfiends though he seems to have a long-term thing going with Liz Strauber now so fancy away but there's a queue!!

Willow, I think my favourite Angel is from season 2 of Buffy. Though I have to admit that their first kiss scared the hell out of me. ( I really didn't see the whole vampire thing coming) I love it when he loses his soul. I think Angelus is probably sexier than Angel which probably means I'm a sicko!!

BTW, I've heard a rumour that Angelus will be making a major appearance in this season of Angel. I can't wait!!

Chinchilla · 08/03/2003 11:01

You didn't see the vampire thing coming??? I also think Angelus is sexier, so if that makes you weird, so am I!

nerdgirl · 08/03/2003 11:12

I really didn't, Chinchilla! He was there to help. He was cute. He gave her a silver cross. He didn't vamp till they kissed.

Am I just hopelessly naive? What gave it away to you?

We sickos must stick together. Angelus could kick Spikes butt!!

Chinchilla · 08/03/2003 23:00

I think I watch too many thrillers, and am always looking for a twist in the story! I don't think Angelus was attractive with the bat face BTW, just being evil and masterful.....There's something sexy about masterful men! Gordon Ramsey for example! Dh thinks I'm mad.

nerdgirl · 09/03/2003 10:49

Chinchilla, are your spidey-senses tingling over Cordelia at the moment? I feel it in my waters - there's something very not right there. And I'm the naive one!!

Totally agree that vamp-face is a real passion killer.

Also agree with the masterful bit but I also think that there is something attractive about the bad boy personna. I mean Xander vs Spike, Bingley vs Darcy, Aragorn vs Boromir - no contest in my book!

bettys · 09/03/2003 14:24

I don't think that's the real Cordelia. She's possessed or something.

Chinchilla · 09/03/2003 17:57

I don't have sky or cable, so I can't watch this series I stopped watching in the series when Buffy turned into a cavegirl at college (Series 4?)

It all got a bit stupid for me, but I loved series 1/2/3

GeorginaA · 09/03/2003 20:00

The cavegirl ep was dire I still cringe when I see it. However, the season did get better, a lot better.

nerdgirl · 09/03/2003 22:45

Chinchilla, I don't think season 4 was anyone's favourite but season 5 and 6 were wonderful. Lets see what did you miss from season 4...

Oh yeah, you just missed Spike being kidnapped by the initiative and Oz leaving Willow - that was the next episode.

Four episodes later one of Willows spells goes wrong (NO WAY! I hear you all scream in unison) and Buffy and Spike think that they are engaged to be married - laugh? You'll wet yourself! Especially if you just had a baby!!

Next episode is one of the best - 'Hush'. It won Joss Whedon a pile of awards and has almost no dialogue!

Next episode - Buffy and Riley get it together (I just never warmed to that relationship) and Spike discovers that even though the chip in his head means that he can't hurt humans, he can kick the sh1t out of demons. He also wears a tacky hawaiian shirt and the entire hour is worth that spectacle alone!

Then Ethan Rayne makes Giles look and sound like a demon and whackiness ensues.

Willow falls in love with a girl named Tara (really cute relationship, this one)

Faith returns and swaps bodies with Buffy. She makes a pass at Spike and has sex with Reilly.

Jonathan Levinson also returns in a fun episode called 'Superstar' where he conjours a spell to create an alternative reality where everyone worships him - they even give him his own bit in the opening titles which I thought was a nice touch.

Well, those were my season 4 highlights. Now get back to Buffy! This is the last season after all!

willow2 · 10/03/2003 21:04

I thought the last series was v poor. Just as it was getting interesting, with Willow going all black eyed and stuff, it ended.

OP posts:
nerdgirl · 10/03/2003 22:30

But Willow, what about the three geeks, Buffy and Spikes obsessive masochistic sexual relationship, the amazing 'Once more with feeling', Giles and Anya's first kiss, Willows addiction, the aborted wedding and Willow and Tara?

willow2 · 10/03/2003 22:33

oh yeah

Ok, there were some great episodes, but the actual underlying plot wasn't as strong, and when it finally got going it was over. I was genuinely surprised when I realised there was only one more episode to go.

OP posts:
nerdgirl · 11/03/2003 22:21

I'll admit it was the most disjointed of the seasons but I really thought there was enough wonderful stuff in it to rank right up there.

Here's a question though - what was your favourite season, favourite episode, favourite character and favourite bad guy?

I would have to go with -

Season 2,
Innocence (but I change my mind on this one every ten minutes),
Spike,
The three nerds (hey, with a name like mine how could it be otherwise!!)

GeorginaA · 12/03/2003 08:23

Favourite Ep: Hush or Once More With Feeling I think... they were just so well done (especially the latter as when I first saw the credits I thought "this will be dire..."
Favourite Character: Spike of course
Favourite Villain: The Mayor - he had such a wacky sense of humour, he was a joy to watch.

nerdgirl · 12/03/2003 10:40

Georgina, I totally agree, 'Once more with feeling' was wonderful. My three year old marches around the house singing Anya's "bunnies chorus". He's never seen the show but I'm always singing the songs. I may have put the child off rabbits for life!

As for the Mayor, yup definitely a great bad guy. I think the humour is what I like best about the nerds too it gives them a sympathetic side that makes it all the more chilling when they do something horrible.

As for Spike, what can I say? Must quote Cordelia - 'Hello salty goodness!!"

GeorginaA · 12/03/2003 11:27

My dh bought me the "Once More With Feeling" CD for my birthday, it's great Only problem is I can't listen to it too late at night on my own as it also has some of the instrumentals from Hush on it and I find it a bit spooky!

nerdgirl · 12/03/2003 11:52

Don't have the CD yet ( hint to dh if lurking!! ) but I stole my favourites with KaZaa -

"I've got a theory", "Rest in Peace", "What you feel", "Walk through the fire" and "Where do we go from here?"

bea · 12/03/2003 21:23

definitely Hush is my fave! - i loved the bit in the lecture theatre and gile's drawings... keep waiting for it to be repeated as i taped over mine by accident.... very very clever... and very very scarey!!!! Yikes!

nerdgirl · 13/03/2003 11:58

I don't know if this is true but I heard that Joss Wheadon was inspired to write 'Hush' when he got some critics award for his brilliant dialogue. So he decides to write an episode with almost none!!
