Bettys, Enid et al - don't forget she's back at eight.

Buffy and Angel last night - I wait all week for that???

allatsea · 21/02/2003 10:05

Does anyone else think that Cordy is looking different this series? Either she's put on a lot of weight, is pregnant or is just wearing terrible clothes.

willow2 · 21/02/2003 11:21

think she's preggers - either that or someone's whacked her in the face with a frying pan.

I thought Angel was ok - Buffy was one of those classic silly stories that didn't really take the greater plot anywhere. Although am interested to know exactly how much dosh Anya has nicked.

Buffy was a bit done before wasn't it with the Xander love spell episode in Season 2... got very silly although I did laugh at the Bronze scene

Angel was okay but get the feeling it's an "in betweener" for a more important thread arc.

nerdgirl · 21/02/2003 14:06

I don't know about 'in betweener' GeorginaA. I think last night saw the end of Gunn and Fred. I don't think they're going to get past that. Leaving the door open for Mr. Wyndham-Price perhaps!

GeorginaA · 21/02/2003 14:22

Well I was wondering whether all that dimension stuff is going to be part of a plot arc. Agree with you that Gunn and Fred are looking rocky now

willow2 · 22/02/2003 12:56

but maybe not? Could it be that she will love him even more for not allowing her to do something that she would always hate herself for?

OP posts:
GeorginaA · 22/02/2003 12:59

Yes, but she mentioned to Wesley earlier that the fact Gunn wouldn't do something like that was why she loved him.

tallulah · 22/02/2003 14:22

Charisma Carpenter is expecting a baby (boy) in March, according to the official buffy website, hence the weight gain.
GeorginaA, I agree. We spent the whole prog saying- they've done this one before. The scripts are getting funny again though, like Season 2.
I'm going right off Angel (the prog, not the character). It seems to be getting sillier.

nerdgirl · 22/02/2003 21:45

I'm with you GeorginaA, I give them three-four episodes before Fred finds herself in Wesley's arms.

And what about Cordelia and Conor? I have to say, I hate the idea of the two of them together but it would make for a VERY interesting love triangle with Angel!!

GeorginaA · 22/02/2003 23:15

Oh god I hope not (re: Cordy and Connor) although I agree I can see it coming....

SoupDragon · 23/02/2003 07:42

Just watched Buffy on video - I loved the bit where Buffy's trying to kill the principle & you can see what's going on outside his window whilst he's oblivious. Marvellous.

I do like the comic episodes as long as they don't have too many.

willow2 · 23/02/2003 10:33

SoupD - that was brilliant wasn't it? Definite favourite moment on show. Although have to say that Dawn falling off things is always good for a laugh.

OP posts:
GeorginaA · 23/02/2003 11:19

Yes that was a very funny moment. My favourite is still the bronze bit when they realise the hotty is actually Dawn and both Xander and Willow get all embarrassed....

SoupDragon · 23/02/2003 17:04

Oh yes - I'd forgotten about the Willow/Dawn bit. Loved the fact that Willow was going to turn RJ into a girl too.

And Spike was looking better I thought...

GeorginaA · 23/02/2003 17:18

Yes, I hope moving Spike out of the basement is going to be a permanent improvement!

GeorginaA · 27/02/2003 20:57

JONATHAN NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!

bea · 27/02/2003 22:12

hey i thought it was a good un this week!!!! (and angel too although it did remind me of the buffy ep where they all forgot who they were!!!!)

however a little confused at the end me and dh were having a 'debate' about it!!! did soike really kill? was it the real spike? or are they all just sorts of manifestations of evilll!!!???

please help!

GeorginaA · 27/02/2003 22:15

I'm still sulking about Jonathan... I can't believe they did that!

Was quite a scary Buffy ep wasn't it ... personally I think it's the big evil trying to separate any help that Buffy would normally have away from her, and it seems that the only person they failed with was Willow.

I liked the Angel ep, but it was such a sad ending! Poor Angel! Was nice to see the "old" bitch queen Cordy if only for a short while

bettys · 27/02/2003 22:18

The other manifestations used mind games whereas Spike has apparently now killed twice so it looks like someone's trying to spook the Scoobies.

Poor Jonathon, he was one of my favourite characters, and all he really wanted to do was join Buffy's gang.

And what about those evil eyes Cordy saw? Was that something waking up in her or a vision she remembered?

GeorginaA · 27/02/2003 22:24

Jonathan's been there for so long - since very early season 1... killing him off is a heinous crime! (I'm not getting over this anytime soon, obviously )

Hmm, maybe the visions Spike had been getting has driven him to it somehow? Surely he still has the chip in the head even though he has a soul so he shouldn't be able to kill? Haven't we had an ep recently where he tried to hit someone after having his soul and getting the headache? The one where Anya recognised him for who he was? There's something dodgy about that... I think it's a double blind somewhere...

Yes those eyes that Cordy saw were spooky - obviously something to do with the vision Lorne saw regarding her future.

Joe1 · 28/02/2003 08:54

Oh no I havent seen it yet, tried not to all this just seen the odd line

milkbar · 28/02/2003 11:03

still laughing at 'it eats you, starting with your bottom'

GeorginaA · 28/02/2003 12:26

My favourite was "I'm here to kill you, not to judge you"... still working out how I could fit that into everyday conversation

willow2 · 28/02/2003 14:10

Back on course I felt, even if I didn't really have a clue what was happening with Buffy. I thought the fact that it was all kicking off might have been to stop Buffy or Willow getting back to the house to help Dawn get rid of the unwanted guest.
