Bettys, Enid et al - don't forget she's back at eight.

nerdgirl · 04/05/2003 10:50

Sorry JJ, wish I could help.

It must be starting on terrestrial TV soon. I know that's no comfort. I resent having to wait until Thursday for my next fix!

pie · 08/05/2003 21:01

Ok, its the commercial brake and I'm fuming....does anyone else really want to see Buffy taken down a peg or two??? Oh please let Faith kick her ass. Whats the point of fighting a 'mission' to save the world when you are making that world a horrid place to live in?????

Huh???

Oh please let Faith shake it up.

Ok, gonna watch the increasingly convoluted Angel.

nerdgirl · 09/05/2003 07:55

Pie, I know the whole 'General' thing is going over the top but I don't see that Buffy being devoted to her 'mission' is making the world a worse place.

And trust bloody SKY to get the episodes out of sinc! I was all excited about Faith's return to Sunnydale and it turns out that this episode should have been shown last week and I've another seven days to wait! Aaaaagh!

I bet there's some huge link-up between the two series for the last ever Buffy and SKY will mess that up too!

pie · 09/05/2003 08:20

nerdgirl, I just thought Buffy was borderline power trip. And yes I too was looking forward to seeing Faith last night. I know that there will be a big reappearance for the last ever two episodes of Buffy. Won't say in case you didn't know, but it has been quite hyped in some of the press.

And er how did the LA gang figure out Cordelia was dodgy? I loved Lorne's Magic 8 Ball!

nerdgirl · 09/05/2003 09:20

Ooh, 'big reappearance'! I can't wait. I had heard nothing! Yay!

But SKY are still going to mess it up, aren't they?

Cordy has been a bit dodgy lately. Maybe Angel saw her with the coffee cup, maybe Willow sussed something, maybe Lorne already got his powers back or maybe it was the overuse of the work 'sweet'!

GeorginaA · 09/05/2003 11:59

Well I have to say I saw that bit coming - Angel was just acting uncharacteristicly thick and overgenerous with information to Cordy in his room - I got the feeling then he was trying to see how she would react to certain things (the insulting comments about the master etc).

willow2 · 09/05/2003 19:38

I thought Buffy was excellent.

OP posts:
bea · 09/05/2003 19:50

good ep... but i feel like they don't know quite what to do with giles... is he in or out? (the series i mean...) also when is the last season!?

the whole cordy thing at the moment is getting a little soap operaish... time for everything to be resolved i think (thank goodness they've discovered she's been a bad girl! - loved the 8 ball thing too!

nerdgirl · 09/05/2003 20:00

This is the last season Bea!
Oh God! What will I do without my weekly fix?

There are only five episodes left!

I thought Angel was acting a bit odd Georgina but I figured it was just the whole pregnancy and Angelus thing.

willow2 · 09/05/2003 22:35

RE my last message - profound, not. Sorry, got interrupted. Thought that Buffy telling Giles she'd learned all she had to learn from him very telling. Maybe she has to get to that point to be able to face what's coming? Thought Spike had killed teach' - nice twist. Re Angel - Loved Lorne's reaction to the pregnancy - can't remember the line exactly but nerdgirl can probably help out! Loved the 8 ball. And what about Gun? Ooh er.
Roll on next week - except I don't want it to roll on cos then it will end. Keep praying that there'll be an announcement that, actually, they just want to keep making programmes till they're old and crusty. Seriously not coping with idea that it will all soon end. May need counselling.

OP posts:
pie · 09/05/2003 22:59

I read the most horrendous thing the other day in some gossip magazine that Holly Vallance was in talks to do a new Slayer program when Buffy finishes.

Grrr Argh

GeorginaA · 10/05/2003 12:02

Eeep Willow2 - it's not the last season of Angel too is it? I thought there were still future seasons planned and was just Buffy ending?

willow2 · 10/05/2003 13:00

No - just Buffy ending. Small mercies.

Holly Valance? Can't live with her, can't kill her - but over my dead body.

OP posts:
nerdgirl · 10/05/2003 22:50

Pie, the Holly Vallance rumour is a load of sh*t. Buffy is ending forever in five weeks. Gulp!

Georgina, WB hasn't formally announced whether there will be another season of Angel but it's looking very good. Apparently the announcement will be made on Tuesday.

Willow darlin' I believe you requested this -

"Put me on the short bus, and send me off to clueless school. A mystical pregnancy right under my beak and not even a tingle."

But my favourite Lorne line from the episode had to be -

ANGEL : "Lorne you're?"

LORNE : "Reliable as a cheap fortune cookie?"

platinum1 · 11/05/2003 14:43

Hi,
did any of you go to the End of Days convention last weekend in Blackpool?
The guys said that a new Angel series is likely and planned but they're just waiting for it to be picked up by one of the networks, so fingers crossed.
I only have one ep of Angel left and 2 buffy to watch then...THAT'S IT!!!! No more Lorne til after Christmas and no more Buffy ever!!!!!
Not fair, but at least it's going out on a high. Just watched Ep 20 of Buffy and the only thing I will say is....BLOODY HELL!!!.
It's very exciting, but I will not put spoilers on..I'm not mean.
Joanne

nerdgirl · 12/05/2003 14:21

Joanne, I hate you! I am SO jealous!

Did any of you catch the first ever episode on Sky today? I think they're repeating it at 6pm. Angel looked so young and non-pudgy and gorgeous! I got the warm fuzzies watching Buffy meet Willow and Xander and Giles. Did you know that Joss always intended to get Xander and Buffy together in the end? Weird, huh?

pie · 12/05/2003 14:39

I read that Joss always meant Willow or Xander to be gay but he didn't decide which one until the 4th series. That guy always has a big plan.

bettys · 13/05/2003 13:08

Oh joy! Now Sky is showing Buffy at 12.00 I can watch it at work! Saw the 2nd episode today & it's really interesting to note how the series has progressed...everything seems much more one-dimensional in the early ones. Plus Angel is lean, Willow has dark hair, Buffy seems to have huge boobs, and super-bitchy Cordelia (missed her) doesn't look like a stuffed chipmunk. It's fun to spot early characters like Harmony. Just hope they get onto the 2nd series so I can see a younger Spike. Phwoar!

Just found out on the spoiler boards that Angel has been taken for a 5th season, possibly with James Marsters & not Charisma Carpenter, but rumours are still changing all the time. Hope it's true though as I need something to remain constant in the Buffyverse.

Willow2, have you noticed the nursery has organised parent's evening for this Thursday? Are they mad?

willow2 · 14/05/2003 10:25

bettys - yes, but I have deliberately booked my appointment for 6.30 so will be home by seven - will whack ds in the bath double quick, throw him in to bed, read three stories really quickly and then peg it. Should see my collapsed on sofa by 8.

By the way - ds is away so if you want to ditch parents evening and come and watch Buffy at mine you are more than welcome!

OP posts:
bettys · 14/05/2003 10:36

Would love to but dp is out - he deliberately does this on a Thursday - so I've had to cancel parent's evening anyway. You're far more forward thinking than me, nabbing the earliest appointment! They never have that much to say anyway, but at least you'll get a drink.
Have now got a vision of you gabbling 3 bedtime stories at top speed. Done that myself before now.

SoupDragon · 14/05/2003 10:48

Um... can't you video it? Or if you've got really good will power & patience, watch it on Saturday.

bettys · 14/05/2003 10:56

Wouldn't be able to watch it on Saturday as it conflicts with ds's teatime etc. Could video it but never have the time to watch videos...all academic as dp is out so have to babysit ds anyway. However...

STOP PRESS!!!

It's been confirmed on the WB website that Angel is coming back for a 5th season WITH James Marsters.....sparks will fly. TWO vampires with souls? It's like getting a doughnut with with two dollops of jam in. Or something.

SoupDragon · 14/05/2003 10:59

Which is better than a donut with none.

nerdgirl · 14/05/2003 12:11

The two guys together! Yay! There you go SoupDragon, you'll have to catch up fast if you want your weekly Spike fix!

BTW, Variety also reports that Charisma will not be a regular on the next season.

SoupDragon · 14/05/2003 12:13

Well, I assume I've got pretty much a whole year to catch up. Oooh! A whole year of back to back Angel... now there's a thought.

Let's hope MIL gets on with her viewing smartish.
