Lyra, that's what I was afraid of. Spending forever moaning about how awful my life is without dealing with it. I can't bear people like that. Ironically, or do I mean typically, DH is being sweetness personified at the moment.

DS's birthday is the 2nd week of June, which is fine.

But it just feels good to be pro-active again and get things moving.

LyraSilvertongue · 22/05/2008 14:14

Tbh, I'm getting sick of my friend complaining about her DP but then just putting up with the situation. I know it takes courage to leave (as you have shown) but if she's not going to change her situation she needs to stop complaining about it. Does that sound harsh?
What's the flat like?

Zebedeedoodah · 22/05/2008 14:23

Nah, not harsh at all. Stop whining woman!!! I think that's one of the reason's I finally took the plunge.

The flat's huge. 2 bed Georgian, 1st floor. Massive, light sash windows. Enormous kitchen, large enough sitting room & main bedroom and a good sized single. The hallway is also huge - the size of a small bedroom in itself. There's not really an outside, but it's 5 mins from the park which is good.

It's all a bit tired, but hey! that's why it's not too expensive, and definitely liveable. So you can all visit when next down this way.

LyraSilvertongue · 22/05/2008 14:24

That does sound harsh but this has been non-stop for years now.
Flat sounds great!

LyraSilvertongue · 22/05/2008 14:26

I had a Geirgian flat once (in Bath). First floor, massive windows, enormous rooms - much like yours. wish I could find something like that round here but the Georgians never discovered my area.

Zebedeedoodah · 22/05/2008 14:46

I hope you don't think I was telling you to stop whining Lyra. However, there are some people who are only happy when they're moaning. It's just I'm not one of them.
And yes, I think the flat suits. Big, light, bright, airy. At least if I'm dragging DS away from the fresh open fields it's not into a dark and dingy terrace somewhere. So I really am lucky. Funnily enough, I walked past the building last week thinking a flat there would be perfect. So there you go. And the street number is the same number as the house I grew up in. Karma.

LyraSilvertongue · 22/05/2008 14:51

No, no, of course not. You were saying my friend should stop whining and then I felt guilty that I wasn't being sympathetic enough to her. Anyway, enough about her.
I really do hope you're going to be happy in your lovely light flat. DS will adjust soon enough, especially if he's seeing more of you. He'll probably see DH about the same amount won't he?

binkleandflip · 22/05/2008 14:53

It sounds lovely Zeb, I'm glad you're feeling so positive and you're right about the whingeing -I have a friends who whinges CONSTANTLY about her dh - on and on everytime I see her... we have another glass of wine and then its my turn

We're quite happy being a pair of fishwife types together - and no we probably will never leave them either as they're not too bad really I guess but we do enjoy a good rant

OP posts:
Zebedeedoodah · 22/05/2008 15:27

That's different Binkle. Fishwives together is just fab!!!!

Yes, DS will see DH about the same I guess. I'm just hoping I get to keep the audi and he doesn't saddle me with the land rover!

LyraSilvertongue · 23/05/2008 23:28

Where are you all?

oggsfrog · 24/05/2008 09:00

I'm partying at the festi

LyraSilvertongue · 26/05/2008 12:24

Still no-one about?
Weather's terrible here so I'm taking the boys swimming.

oggsfrog · 26/05/2008 13:19

Gorgeous sunny day here. Has been a belting weekend .
Diet didn't survive .

LyraSilvertongue · 26/05/2008 15:37

According to the forecast our crappy weather's supposed to be heading your way tomorrow.
Glad you've had a lovely weekend. When are you restarting the diet, if at all?

oggsfrog · 26/05/2008 20:05

Diet starts again tomorrow .
Off to have long bath with a good book and a brandy coffee .

Zebedeedoodah · 27/05/2008 11:01

Morning all!

Lyra, I watched the Golden Compass last night. Are you as feisty as your namesake?

The rest of my weekend was bashing down a few more walls that were feeling left out.

And now I'm warming up for next Saturday's final of the Nancies. I'm betting Lee will be singing, and we can live in hope that he doesn't rock up in his coat and sing ADWD, but I'm not feeling optimistic.

LyraSilvertongue · 27/05/2008 18:16

Sadly not Zeb. But I do like the character. Have you read the books? How's things with DH?

oggsfrog · 28/05/2008 06:54

Morning
Bloody midges have arrived with a vengeance.
Feckers!

oggsfrog · 28/05/2008 09:20
Zebedeedoodah · 28/05/2008 09:25

Morning Oggs! Shall I send you up some DDT for the midges? I'm sure my friendly farm suppliers will let me have some.

Latest update on the state of my life...I'm going to take the deposit to the landlord today, with contract dated 1st June, if not sooner - one slammed down phone too many - if he does it again I'll tell him over the blardy phone and sod next week's show and DS's birthday which he's going to miss anyway. Sorry, I really have just had enough now and want to go. But I guess that's how it works; once you make up your mind to something, you just want to get things moving.

Anyway, cheer me up Oggs, I need a smile.

oggsfrog · 28/05/2008 09:58

Sorry you're so fed up Zeb.
I suppose you'll feel in a sort of limbo until you have actually told him and started things moving. You have my admiration for biting the bullet and changing your life.

I'm up to my eyes in PTA/annual charity returns etc and am going to have to drag myself away from here soon.

...erm...

Zebedeedoodah · 28/05/2008 10:15

Make it up Oggs....anything.... I don't care!!!!! Charity returns sounds like fun though - now that cheers me up because I'm currently NOT doing any VAT returns.

LyraSilvertongue · 28/05/2008 10:35

Here's something to cheer you up Zeb. I just had an email from Hugh Jackman saying he'd heard I was friends with you and he's heard you were about to be single again and asked me to put a word in for him.

Zebedeedoodah · 28/05/2008 10:39

You see, I knew you girls would cheer me up!

LyraSilvertongue · 28/05/2008 10:40

Well, he only wants you because I rejected him in favour of David Tennant.
